wonderful ocean front, first floor room that opened up to the beach. very clean, and housekeepers were very attentive. I enjoyed the no cash policy. Decor was very nice and updated. Bathtub and shower were spacious. My only criticism was having to pay to rent beach chairs/umbrellas. I wish this service was provided given the price of the rooms.
From the moment I called to make a reservation to the moment we left after nine glorious nights at this magnificent resort. my husband and I were treated like royalty and were welcomed with warmth and kindness. Even before we arrived, all of our questions were answered and our special requests were addressed by the wonderful, Shaun O'Donnell, the Director of the Resort's Operations. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Graham Elwood, the Front Office Manager and his colleagues. It was such a lovely way to be welcomed after travelling quite a distance. We stayed in the exquisite superior oceanfront suite with a large and comfortable porch overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The master bedroom with its luxurious king size bed and highest quality bed linens provided the perfect restful and peaceful night's sleep. From our porch, we saw ospreys and bald eagles fishing. We saw brown pelicans and American White pelicans and pods of dolphins frolicking in the ocean. Watching the evolving pinks, reds and purples of the sunrises each morning was breathtaking and inspirational! The kitchen included everything we needed for our stay - a full size refrigerator with different ice and chilled water options, a microwave, a dishwasher, and ample counter and cabinet space. When we requested any additional items like champagne glasses, they were promptly provided. When we ordered room service, the food was delicious and was served with a white linen tablecloth and beautiful silverware, plates and glassware. It arrived hot and with all of the needed accompaniments. The resort's signature restaurant, The Seahorse Grille, served gourmet food in a beautiful room overlooking the ocean. The service was impeccable, and we want to particularly thank our amazing, welcoming Hostess, Jianna, our attentive and professional servers Nicole and Thomas and the insightful Matt who was our knowledgeable sommelier. We had grilled oysters, broiled red snapper, with peas and artichoke hearts. Even their bread was not an afterthought - we could choose from grilled bread or simply delicious warm bread right out of the oven. In addition to our dinners at the Grille, we also had their extraordinary Sunday Brunch, which includes every possible Brunch food from homemade jellies and salsas to shrimp, crab claws, yummy fish spread, smoked salmon, egg dishes and roast beef, sausages and bacon. Thanks so much to massage therapist Amber for her provision of my Pink Himalayan Stone Massage at The Spa – it was so healing and calming…It was truly an immersive experience including aromatherapy and tranquil, soft music. We are so grateful for all of the professional, experienced Ponte Vedra Inn Staff Members for taking such wonderful care of us!…
We had a wonderful stay at the Inn this past winter with our two young children. While the weather was unseasonably cold for the area (even in January) - high 40s and windy - it was still sunny and our stay was warmed by the gracious welcome from every staff we encountered. From room service deliveries to pack-n-play setup, everyone was very accommodating of our needs. Alexa at the front desk was particularly helpful with requests as we had friends visiting for dinner and wanted extra pool passes that sadly ended up going to waste. As others have said, parts of the resort seem a bit dated, but we really enjoyed our room in the main building across the street from the beach. It’s a short walk to the pool and gym facilities, and there is always someone to run you back on a golf cart if needed, which was probably my son’s favorite activity. We also really enjoyed the breakfast sandwiches from the market. I hope to return in the future and fully explore what the resort has to offer as we were unfortunately limited in our options by the weather. Still, it was a top notch experience.…
We arrived yesterday....we are in love with Ponte Vedra Inn and Club! The room is decorated beautifully, very spacious, the oceanfront room has an incredible view. The food at every location has been incredible. Breakfast buffet is perfection! The people, the staff, the staff…you set the bar!! Ponte Vedra Inn has the best staff ever! Love the night time service and the little details! Our housekeeping service has been the best ever! We absolutely love Ponte Vedra Inn and Club and will be booking for summer! Love love love❤️❤️❤️
We attended a group event at the Inn but stayed elsewhere. To our dismay, we couldn’t pay for anything on site since we weren’t staying at the inn. I know this is part of the charm, but in today’s world they should take credit cards. We played golf on the lagoon course. Frankly, it looks like a public golf course, which it is. I wouldn’t waste my money.
We are back. We first came here back in May 2021. I posted a somewhat detailed review highlighting what I found most pleasing. I offered one criticism. They were struggling with some housekeeping challenges last year. In fairness, most hotels were struggling with similar challenges last year. (In making that assertion, our bona fides are that in our first-year post-vaccine, we managed to travel 117 nights, hit four continents, six countries, seven states, and 21+ cities. Forty-two of those days were spent around Florida.) Ponte Vedra Inn and Club has corrected its housekeeping challenges, so we are even more pleased this year. In fact, Ponte Vedra Inn’s housekeeping was the best we remember this year. Rather than repeat my compliments from my last review, here is a quick summary: Ceiling fans, nice little kitchenette, with a microwave and dishwasher, prompt room service, comfortable furnishings, spacious accommodation, direct beach access from the first-floor rooms, and no mini-bar (I hate mini-bars). And they have a great soaking tub in the bathroom. Last year, I fantasized about a combo-Miami/Jacksonville trip using the little sky-uber service known as Verijet. We did it this year. Zipped down to Miami and spent six days at the South Beach Ritz-Carlton. Zipped up to Jacksonville for another six days, and then zipped home to Atlanta. I got to tell you what a relief Jacksonville, and the Ponte Vedra Club were after a week in Miami. The relief started from the time Gary picked us up at Craig Field, and it continued through check-in here, and then for the entire week. I do not want to turn this review into Miami bashing, but it is so nice being able to talk to your Limo/Uber drivers, housekeeping, room service servers, and the like. It is also so nice not to feel like you have to be on-guard all of the time. And best of all, the Ponte Vedra Beach is much nicer than Miami beach. I am not going to lie and say that we are prepared to abandon our annual Miami visit. Jacksonville has some very good restaurants, but Miami has some spectacular restaurants. Nothing in Jacksonville (or Atlanta for that matter) compares to Joe’s Stone Crabs, Il Gabbiano, Zuma, or even Versailles. But we have decided to shorten our Miami stay to four or five days. The beach in Ponte Vedra is nicer than Miami Beach, but next year, we will probably move our combo trip to after the TPC. While I remember going to the beach in February as a teen, it was probably late February, and it was probably the warm day, not any day. It was just a bit chilly here mid-February to sit on the balcony—especially after coming directly from Miami. As we were finishing our packing for our return home, my wife remarked, that she liked the room, she liked the service, she liked the people. Then she summarized by saying, I have absolutely no complaints, and that is hard to achieve with us. She is right. We are demanding customers.…
An amazing find. Best of Resorts. Best of Florida. Certainly have earned their Five Diamond Awards. Staff are all amazing. Peyton House both new and spacious. 3rd floor ocean front has been amazing. Dining superb. Very nice golf course. So glad we have found this gem, and we will certainly return.
I am here now in one of their brand new oceanfront suites. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and you can feel the tradition oozing through everything here, which is amazing. The beach, restaurants and hospitality of the staff are amazing. However... I am extremely surprised by a few things. 1. We checked in at the Main building and when given our room at Payton House, drove over only to have no bell cart. Just some young guy in a golf cart who was going to physically carry all our belongings to the 2nd floor. It felt wrong so we assisted as we had quite a few bags. In a hotel of this caliber, a bell cart should be readily available at every guest house. 2. Our room is lovely - beautifully remodeled and the TV's are Samsung Smart TV's. However.... they only give you access via DirectTV to LIVE TV??? I'm not sure how many people still watch live TV, but we don't. Where is the remote for the tv to change the source? I called and they don't provide it. We had to rig an HDMI cable behind to hook up my Macbook in order to access any saved shows on XFinity or Netflix, Hulu, YouTube or anything else? A pretty big fail. 3. The coffee maker in the room. At least at other higher end hotels you get a Nespresso. Here it's the cheapest version of a knock off keurig that doesn't even make a full cup of coffee. Really, really bad. If you don't care about these things, it's no big deal, but we had just come after a long stay at a Ritz and the quality of amenities were a bit better. For a new room, it's lacking in some basic necessities provided at other high end hotels. On a positive - the absolute BEST hotel shower I've ever experienced, and the most comfortable bed.…
We stayed here two nights after our son’s soccer tournament to get in some R&R and this place was perfect. We stayed on the 2nd floor of the Georgia House directly on the beach in a large room with 2 queen beds and a huge bathroom. The room includes a fridge, microwave, and a balcony with chairs. Mostly we saw seagulls on the beach with the occasional walker or jogger, some with dogs. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Everyone we interacted with smiled and answered all of our questions. Housekeeping called to ask a good time to come clean - much appreciated. Masks are required inside the Inn’s buildings, which we appreciated. You can get pastries and coffee for breakfast at the pastry shop in the main building. The gym has plenty of treadmills, weight machines and a few bikes and cross trainers. There is a locker room for changing. We tried the heated family pool, which we enjoyed for about 30 minutes but with temps in the mid 50s and windy, even with heated water we couldn’t stand it for long. The beach is beautiful and wide and we enjoyed a long walk (bundled up). Highly recommend!…
We were down in Ponte Vedra for a birthday party combined with some golf. We stayed for 3 days at the dreadful Sawgrass Marriott and then came to PVIC for 2 days of golf and the party. We wish we had skipped the Marriott altogether and just stayed here. Our oceanfront room was fabulous. New carpeting/curtains/bed linens/towels. Meticulously cleaned including the windows. Beautiful, spotless bathroom with mold-free grout in the tiles. Huge shower with excellent water pressure. Loads of towels and 3 sets of shampoo etc amenities. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The Ocean Course was fun to play but not too challenging without the wind. A bit more expensive than the Marriott but true value for the money. All in all, this is a place I want to come back to.
