First mistake was paying $287.00 for one night. Room smelled like smoke and mold, had bugs, very dirty, black mold in bathroom, rug was stained and very dirty. Frame of bed had some sort of stain, Too many to list. We checked in after a long drive and dropped off luggage. Headed out to eat after long drive. Never used bed, shower, etc. Explained to staff that we were not pleased with the room and would like to leave. Not at all how online pictures looked. The front staff explained that there is nothing they can do since we already checked in. We decided it was best to leave hotel due to many unsanitary reasons and due to having asthma and a compromised immune system I couldn't take a chance. There was no one at the front desk when we left. When I was able to reach someone on the phone the front desk lady was very rude and kept cutting me off as I was explaining the room situation. She kept telling me she does not know when the manger or owner will be available, says no refund or any discount will be giving, very short and abrupt with conversation. My husband and I are both retired military. My job in the Air Force was Services. I take great pride in knowing when I would provide lodging and customer service to our troops I worked hard to deliver service before self. This hotel may have gotten my money but I can guarantee they will never get it again nor will they get a referral. You have many choice when you visit St Augustine. Take the time to do your research. Lesson learned. I pray you do not have to experience this. Especially if you have a young child with you as we did. Teachable moments for our children too!! ❤

My daughter-in-law called ahead for price and when we got to the St Augustine Inn they would give us the price they quoted her, Right now the price is $72.00 and they made us pay $140.00 per night. We would have cancelled but they would have charged us for one night even if we cancelled. We were there for 2 night's and they charged us $280.00. Rooms need lots of cleaning up. Shower door you would need lots of muscle to open of close. This was on a wed. and thur.

I got the room around 9:00 and there for a couple of hours till I got the news in my mother had a stroke. The rude owner would not refund my charges. He seemed heartless and that is some bad business policy.

The folks that work at the hotel are very nice so that is a plus. The beds were comfortable and clean. The place is not up to the standard of an IHG hotel in my experience. It needs a serious facelift. Unfortunately there were no lids for the coffee cups in the lobby in the morning and the first morning the coffee was empty, and only coffee mate (which we don't use because its got hydrogenated oil in it). I had to walk to the Circle K for a real cup. We had to pay a refundable deposit for damage, but the place had so much damage already they apparently don't keep the deposits of the people who create the damage and do the repairs. The toilet was loose from its base, the shower door did not close correctly. Every lamp in the place had a damaged shade. The bathroom pocket door was stuck in the pocket and the handle was broken. There were marks on the walls and the furniture (that made the place feel unclean) and the heater (there was ice on our car window the first morning) did not work properly. I probably wouldn't stay there again.
