The Embassy Suites by Hilton St Augustine Beach Oceanfront Resort is often celebrated for its inviting atmosphere, complete with live music and hospitable staff. The beachfront location is a hit among guests, as are the commendable amenities including a pristine pool and complimentary breakfast.
While the rooms offer varying levels of quality, with some boasting superb views, issues such as noise and cleanliness have been noted. Despite the staff's friendliness, challenges with valet parking and hidden fees, particularly the mandatory valet fee, have left some visitors feeling the value for their stay was compromised.

We spent three nights here on a family trip. We had a fantastic time. The staff were very attentive and friendly, especially Patricia at the front desk. The pool waitstaff and recreation staff were great too.
Our kids loved the beach, and also the pool. We rented a cabana at the pool and umbrellas at the beach (2 chairs per room are included, you rent the umbrellas for $15 which is well worth it!). We spent the whole day bouncing back and forth between the two and had such a nice relaxing day. The kids really enjoyed all the beach toys available to play with.
The hotel was clean and well maintained. Housekeeping came by daily to graciously vacuum up all the sand we drug in, and the food in the restaurants was very good. We enjoyed the nightly drinks and music on the patio.
We had an issue with the toilet in one of our rooms, and it was so easy to get the staff to send someone up to fix it. They were quick and responsive.
We would absolutely stay here again.

I was there with a girlfriend for a long weekend trip. The hotel met my expectations and beyond. The room was super clean and we had a great balcony overlooking the courtyard and ocean. The breakfast is free and was delicious, omelettes made as ordered along with a descent variety of other things. The pool manager Abraham was awesome He was super friendly making sure everyone had towels and things they needed. He was constantly going around the pool straightening out chairs and grabbing used towels people left behind. He was doing it with a smile while asking of everyone was good!! Service like this makes the hotel top notch! We will be back at this hotel in the near future! Jackie New! More ways to react

We were disappointed by the hotel’s response in terms of making up for our series of unpleasant experiences.
1. We had to move rooms the first night 1/2/25 because a dog was left alone in the room next door to ours and it was barking very loudly. Luckily a room was available for us to switch to, but the combination of pet friendliness and connecting rooms was pretty ridiculous.
2. The breakfast was very chaotic because the line to order omelets blocks the flow of traffic and somebody dropped their coffee and the spill drenched both of our clothes and my wife’s shoes. Jason offered to have our clothes laundered but my wife’s sweater is hand wash only and the coffee stains could not be washed out. As far as washing the sneakers, we did not want to put them in the laundry machine since they were the only pair she had for the trip. The omelet line is arranged in a completely inefficient way and could be easily rerouted to avoid this mess in a way we pointed out to the manager.
3. Our room was not made up on 1/3/25 and the reason given was that as of 3:15 pm we had a do not disturb sign on our door, which was not true. We removed the do not disturb sign when we left at 11 am and we got back to the room at 7:30 pm.
We received this note in the chat from Angela on 1/4/25, but there was no follow up:
“We deeply regret the inconveniences you've experienced and sincerely apologize for falling short during your stay. The 15,000 points will be processed by Rose, and we're taking your feedback seriously to address these issues. Additionally, it looks like Chris has awarded you 20,000 points for the issues you experienced with stayover service. The additional points are a reflection of our efforts to make it right for you and we hope you will consider staying with us again so we can better demonstrate our commitment to your satisfaction. -Angela”
The initial incidents were caused by hotel guests, but the likelihood of occurrence was greatly enhanced by the hotel policy. The housekeeping incident (blaming us for their mistake) was unacceptable. An oversight is completely forgivable, but not blaming us for it. Chris was very nice and might have processed the award points, but Rose never did what she promised to do, and we had to reach out to the Hilton guest experience desk.
We are loyal long time Hilton Honors members. We were using points for this stay which was supposed to be a nice vacation in St Augustine. Besides the fact that the hotel is in a beautiful location, our stay was anything but pleasant.

We are a family of 5 (Kids 10,8 and 6) and recently stayed at Embassy Suites St. Augustine Beach. We had an absolutely amazing experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The location is unbeatable, with stunning views of the beach, and the hotel itself is beautiful, clean, and well-maintained.
A special shout-out to Guiseppe, who made check-in seamless and gave us excellent recommendations for things to do in the area. He was incredibly friendly and professional, making us feel right at home.
Another standout was Abraham at the pool! He provided top-notch service, ensuring we were comfortable and had everything we needed. His hospitality truly elevated our poolside experience.
I can’t recommend Embassy Suites St. Augustine Beach enough. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing getaway or a fun-filled vacation, this is the perfect place to stay. We’ll definitely be back!

Afternoon reception wasn't anywhere near as good as the receptions that I remember from other Embassy Suites. I have no complaints about the breakfast.
My main complaint is the surprise that I got when I arrived. A sign by the drive into the hotel announced that very expensive valet parking ($39.00 + 6.5% tax) is mandatory.
That fact wasn't stated on the booking page of the web site.
In fact the website has valet parking listed under "optional services".
It's not optional if you arrive by car which the vast majority of the guests do. The location is not a place where people are walking to the hotel.
On the confirmation email, valet parking was not included in what was labeled as "Total price for Stay". It should have been.
If nothing else, warn the customer that if they want to come by car they must pay the $39+tax.
If Embassy Suites is going to require that guests arriving by car pay for valet parking that fact should be made clear for anyone going through booking a room on the web site.
Embassy Suites knows that guests will be surprised like I was otherwise they wouldn't need a sign announcing the valet parking next to the driveway.
It should also be stated plainly in the confirmation email.
I won't be returning to this hotel.

Thank you for being our guest and providing your feedback. Valet is optional because some people do not have a vehicle, hence why its not including in the price of your room. I am sorry, as it can be confusing but that is how we are allowed to list the fees. We are not trying to hide anything. It does also come on the confirmation and pre-arrival letters. Valet parking is highly discussed here on Trip Advisor, so again we're not trying to hide anything. We provide valet as a service to our guests, as well as as a requirement due to our parking lot limitations here on the beach. If you walk into our garage you would see that the hotel has "valet parking" spots because you have to move vehicles in/out to retrieve other cars. It would be impossible to offer self-parking, I certainly hope you'll consider and return again.

Our room was clean and had a great view. We got the King Suite on the top floor. The hotel had a good, included breakfast. The chafing dish food was not hot enough (think cold deep fried potatoes) but the omelet station by Raymond was fantastic!
The included Manager’s Reception was a nice bonus. It was well staffed and you didn’t have to wait for drinks. The snacks provided were goldfish crackers, a trail mix and a Cajun nut mix. I think there was cheese on Friday.
The location was very beachfront and the pool is ideally located with an ocean view. There is a nice beach for walking or your favorite beach activity. Volunteers were there to help us avoid sensitive nesting areas and to share interesting information on the birds. The pool is 4.5 feet deep and they have towels and noodles, plus a few boogie boards available.
There are two things I want to be sure to report, First, the beach area of St. Augustine is not in the historic area and you cannot walk there. It is over 3 miles and there is no sidewalk. There seemed to be a lot of Uber drivers available. If you can avoid having a car, that would be good because of my second point. The parking is $35 per day. The valet is technically free but you have to surrender your car keys and pay the parking fee whether you use them or not. There is a day lot available to you in the hot sun, or you can let the valet take your car in the parking structure. We were surprised and not happy about the parking fee, especially since our room was over $500/night. We really resented it when it took so long to get our car back. I complained and the hotel said they were not responsible for the valet. I persisted that they have to be responsible and I was able to get 1 day refunded.
Not about the hotel, but might be helpful: Also, downtown you have to pay to park, even in what is labeled “Public Parking”. Since the “Public” parking is $15 and not really in a central location, next time we will pay the $20 to park someplace closer to the historic center.

Thank you for being our guest and sharing your experience. We are a valet only facility, as we were designed with the goal of offering a full service resort experience, and our parking lot is designed to "stack" vehicles in what are deemed valet spots, as it involves moving cars to get to other cars. I do appreciate your advisc to our guests about downtown. We're the closest beach resort to downtown, so a quick 10 minute ride share and you're in the historic district, but you can start and end your day with your toes in the sand!

Would never go back. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and nice. The rest of the stay was awful. Room was ok, but couch/sleeper was dirty and overall room was just in ok condition. There was beach repair/sand dredging going on directly behind the hotel killing the view. Very large equipment and piping. If you wanted to use the beach. you had to go around the entire hotel and walk out to a remote part to use it. Most folks, chose not to walk that distance so the pool area became insanely crowded. Felt like you had 2-3 times the intended capacity there (think spring break packed). Breakfast was included in the stay, so most guests must go since the lines were outrageously long for omelets etc. No self park option so you are forced to pay a ~$40 valet fee each night since there is no other parking option nearby. Overall, I would never stay there again. It did not feel like a vacation. I could not wait to get out of there. Hotel should have kindly informed guests at booking about the beach construction as that would have been the right thing to do.

I am sorry to hear that the federal beach renourishment project affected your stay. We did have it posted on our website, since February because we wanted to make sure our guests knew that we had beach access, but there could be noise and/or equipment from time to time. We understand that it was more challenging on some days then others depending on the work they were conducting. Again, I am sorry you were not able to relax as you had envisioned. I do hope you will reconsider a visit now that everything is completed. We do have a nice large beach, and this time of year the spring/summer crowds have dissipated, and the weather is still great.

Location is good, several miles outside of tourist area. As this is a suites hotel with family atmosphere I think rooms can be more accommodating for families. We had a corner ocean suite. It seems bathroom could have had 2 sinks, and places to hang wet bathing suites and towels. Also lavatory area should have a pocket door so other family members can use shower and vanity area while someone is in rest room. We requested foam pillows several times but I guess they don’t have any. All the ones we received were feather and paper thin. Workout room is ok. There is a huge Trax machine that takes up a lot of space with pieces everywhere. I think it would be better to have a free weight machine. The one bench was broken and as it rained a few days it was riddled with children. It was nice to have the free breakfast everyday and housekeeping was polite and efficient. We used the app to communicate and it worked well. There is construction happening around hotel outside and we were woken up by boulders being moved at crack of dawn.

Thank you for your feedback. There should not be children in the fitness center so i apologize if there were during your stay, We have recently added a Peloton machine, but if you're looking to lift weights unfortunately, we don't have those in a hotel fitness center. The good news is the current seawall construction has been completed today and they are in clean up mode now. I do apologize as I understand that was a nuisance from time to time. Thank you again for sharing, and I will share your insights with our management team.

Absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful resort. Great views all around the property, especially at sunrise. Big, clean pool accompanied by plenty of chairs to lay out. Even with some ongoing beach restoration from the 2022 Hurricane season, we still had full access to the beach and was able to walk/run down to Anastasia Beach straight from the resort along the water.
Service at the resort, including attached restaurants, was great — especially Frankie. All of her suggestions were spot on. She highly recommended Nonnas Trattoria in old town, and it was excellent. It’s tucked away in a quaint, movie-like setting on Aviles Street — which is the oldest mapped city in the country. On A1A near the resort, Sunset Grille and Salt Life Food Shack are must tries. Excellent sea food, salads, mixed drinks, and beer at both locations. Valet parking was always timely. An added bonus was happy hour at the resort from 5-6:30pm every day with 2 free drinks.
Would definitely stay here again!

It didn’t bother us because we just walked to the beach area where they had the umbrellas and chairs. I can see it being troublesome if you have children because it is a bit of a walk.
There are more places to choose from in the St. Augustine area.
