Guests have called out the excellent service and friendly staff, alongside the resort's pristine cleanliness. I have to say for where we are visiting this has to be best place to stay. Price and quality are worth it. Staff is friendly and helpful. A real breakfast is included in your price and good location to get to everything. Almost a resort style hotel where u would get other out of state stays

I was a little skeptical about booking here as so many 5 star reviews by folks who have only reviewed this property and seem based only on valets. But I took a leap of faith and booked for 5 nights. I knew about the resort and valet fees from hotel site and reviews so no surprises. You can check their website to see amenities.
We arrived early but our room was ready. Check in was easy, the room was exactly what I booked. A king suite with balcony & ocean view. The room is large, the bed super comfy, quiet at night for good sleep, big TV. There are 2 closets one has hangers the other is kind of useless with an ironing board in it. They should put a rod in there with more hangers. Microwave & small fridge nice sofa & chairs & big TV in sitting room. Breakfast each day was plentiful made to order omelette, plus other hot and cold items.. Honestly I don't know what else a person could want. The breakfast staff was friendly and kept everything filled and clean. Also alot of seating room. Diane and Frank at the front desk were very helpful. We had alot of questions and they were great about helping us. The complimentary happy hour had nice little snacks but great drinks. The bartender (Chris (?) was super awesome and remembered what we liked. Abraham and his beach crew were just awesome. They set up our beach chairs and we rented an umbrella ($15/day). They came by frequently to see if we needed anything. Repositioned umbrella as wind changed. Great customer service.
There are a few really good restaurants within walking distance and the beach bus with trolley is a great way to get downtown. You can buy your tickets at the hotel front desk. The only negative was the floor in our room was dirty so I left a note for housekeeping and told the front desk and it was taken care of immediately. They could use someone going around the lobby as well cleaning the floors, wiping down the glass doors and could definitely use a hand sanitizer by the computers in the lobby.

I have eyed this property for a while. Stayed for my anniversary. Definitely recommend the oversized king room. At first, when I checked in on the app, I selected a suite facing the ocean. My room was changed before arrival, which was slightly disappointing. However, we were moved to the 3rd floor, which is what I wanted to begin with. So in the end, it worked out fine. Be aware there are a limited number of oceanfront and ocean view rooms.

Couple of griefs: you are charged a resort fee for services not provided in February. So, beach chairs...none. Pool towels? Not used in 50°F weather. Water bottles are a feature of my Hilton Honors, so that’s not really a paid service. The resort fees really irritate me and should be a part of your room cost.

The bathroom wall was disgusting. Flat white paint was a design fail. Someone needs to fork out the money for tile around the toilet. Then the housekeepers can spray it with disinfectant and clean it. Urine, fecal matter, and just dried marks running down the walls.

There’s a huge wet bar area, but it should have some extra towels or a roll of paper towels there. We ate at the table, but had to use a bathroom washcloth to wipe the table. Surely for the cost of an oversized king suite, the cost of a roll of paper towels can be justified.

Otherwise, the reasons I chose this hotel: it’s on the beach, has everything you need there, and it close to downtown St. Augustine, though not walking distance.

Finally, the mandatory valet-I kind of understand this because of its beach location. However, the price is ridiculously steep. Cut the resort fee, and lower the valet cost.

Bottom line-we recommend it, but know what to expect there.

Thank you for staying with us for your special occasion. We appreciate your feedback and will review with our engineering team to assure your guest room is in excellent condition. All our bathrooms do have tile so I need to look at your room to understand this complaint. I do apologize if the paint made it look as though it was dirty, as I can assure you are rooms are cleaned and inspected daily. We are not an extended stay product, so we do not provide additional cutlery and/or paper towels in the room, however we would be happy to provide upon request. Yes, we had some poor weather this winter, so I am sorry you didn't get to enjoy the beach, and that you didn't find value in the additional offerings. I am glad you enjoyed your overall stay, and our goal is to definitely give you value for the experience. I will share your comments with our team, and perhaps we can come up with some additional winter ideas. Thank you again for sharing your feedback and we hope to welcome you back soon.

Spent 9 nights here.
Room was great.
View was great.
Beach/ocean was great.
Service was acceptable. (Had to ask for coffee and toiletries a couple of times and some obvious cleaning needs were ignored toward the end of our stay.)
The breakfasts were great. (I'm a big fan of custom made omelettes, and there was always a huge pile of bacon. (And we all know bacon fuels the universe.)

My biggest (actually only) complaint is the "hidden" fees. To be fair, the fine print DOES disclose the daily $22 "resort" and $28 valet (only) parking fees. BUT, you cannot stay at this property without paying the resort fee so it is really just a $22 upcharge on the room. The value received for that $22 is also somewhat debatable. The internet (at least in our room) was very slow. I travel with an Amazon Firestick (which needs internet access). Viewing content for that device was "tedious" an laggey.

Given the scarcity of parking space in this location (Saint Augustine beachfront) I won't complain about the parking fee. But I will complain that it is valet only. I can park my car myself! And paying a ($2 to $4) tip each time you drop off or pick up your car can really stack up in a 10 day stay. That being said, the valet staff were very courteous and helpful.

Thank you for your extended stay with us. I am glad you enjoyed the overall resort. For future long term stays please reach out to me, as we may be able to work something out that works for both of us. I will look into the internet issue, as our standard service that our guest receive should be able to handle it, unless there are a lot of users. There is a premium option that is complimentary for our Diamond members, and once again for a long term stay we may be able to work something out. thank you again for the feedback

Stayed first week of August as Isaiah was Rolling past. Only damage was to the beach as it took a load of sand and resulted in a 3ft ledge between the resort and the beach.
We stopped in room 370 which overlooked the volley ball courts and public parking. So partial sea view which we hadn’t paid extra for. We looked at the rooms available for checkin on the app and they appeared to change throughout the day of check in. We picked the room at noon and were able to access the room soon after had we not been on the road at that point. It looked like the room next to ours on the left did have a balcony.
No housekeeping which seems standard during Covid. Trash and old towels placed outside room door are collected frequently. Fresh towel and toilet paper can be retrieved from staff cleaning rooms that have been vacated.
Breakfast was buffet but dished up by staff depending on what you want. They do have bagels if you ask and they are warm but not toasted. A little disappointed at lack of variety. No waffles and pancakes only 1 day, French toast the remaining 4 days for kids. Eggs were always scrambled. Sausage was always sticks. Bacon and potatoes too. Fruit was banana or orange. The clear plastic cups with brown stuff in is for chocolate milk. No omelettes.
Managers reception was still on. Snacks were only bags of goldfish, chocolate cereal and pretzels. Again no variety there - same snack offerings all week.
The reception did hand out two free bottles of water in a bag when you asked for water.
Valet parking did seem to work okay for us as we didn’t leave too often but not sure it warranted $28 a night with no self park option.
You get two free beach chairs on the beach but there is a $15 charge if you want the umbrella to go with.
All in all I just didn’t get the whole ‘resort’ feel from this place. It’s like a regular beach hotel with a Starbucks, over priced gift shop and expensive parking.

Thank you for the feedback. I am sorry to hear the stay was not excellent, but hope you will return without the stormy weather ruining the outside experience. Our Made to Order breakfast is not yet available. Most Embassy Suites are still giving guests breakfast in a TOGO bag, but we're trying to do something more. We have to be at 50% capacity in our restaurant, so we do not have enough seating. We've created the breakfast buffet in our ballroom and added more seating outside to make sure we can comfortably handle the high volume of business in the summer safely. As things slow down in the fall, we may be able to bring that back to our restaurant. Evening receptions with self serve items are not currently available, but we're keeping the beverages flowing with just some light pre-packaged snacks! We look forward to welcoming you back.

We are avid travelers and we chose this resort based on the location, newness of the resort and that it was an embassy suite.

The room..... very nice rooms, spacious and comfortable. Although I understand the lack of daily cleaning due to Covid the cleaning on day four was very sub par. The sink was not cleaned the counters were not wiped down. To the best of my knowledge the only thing they did was swap out our towels. This was disappointing.

The grounds of the resort were fabulous. Loved the pool area and the resort itself is gorgeous.

Desk Service TJ was fantastic, very helpful and delivered a fabulous experience during each interaction.

Pool side service huge area of opportunity. Of our five day stay we found ourselves constantly having to chase someone down for food or a drink. We opted to do lunch on our first day and we were very disappointed with the food at the pool. From day two forward we opted to eat at local restaurants which is something we never do when we stay at a resort. 😞 on our last day Zachary came right up to us handed us a menu and gave us the times for food and drinks 🍹. (He was the only one who did this the entire week) Zacharys attention resulted in both my husband and I as well as three other families ordering from your pool service. Why? because he actually interacted with us and asked if we wanted drinks or food. A huge area of opportunity for the resort is in getting your poolside wait staff to interact with guests. The attendants were great Sarah specifically is a true gem.

We were overcharged on our bill for service by $100. I thank goodness we caught it and they rectified it.

Overall I like the resort. It’s the attention to detail you expect when you are paying all these extra fees on top of a decent rate per night that was a buy disappointing. Not certain we will stay there again

So, I wrote a review after our first stay, and I'm sure it wasn't nice. Problems from start to finish, but they had just opened and most of their staff had walked out on them, and it was New Years Eve. I remember at the time demanding to see a manager and being told the managers were all busy, but one of them would definitely track me down to talk about the problems. Didn't happen.

We found ourselves back in Florida again for New Years, and I thought the actual hotel grounds were nice and they must've straightened out their problems, so I reserved 3 nights. Upon check in I spoke with the desk clerk about the issues we had last year and was assured everything was fine, but our room wasn't ready (again) so just hang around until we get a text. After the long drive we just wanted to relax. A few hours later I got the text and grabbed the key. The room was nice with a balcony overlooking the pool and the ocean. I went to take a shower. No towels, just two wash cloths and a face towel. I couldn't reach the desk so I walked down and told them the situation, and guess what I was told. Yup, most of the staff walked out. I asked to see the manager and again was told the managers were all cleaning rooms, but one would reach out to me. (never happened) The next day housekeeping didn't service the room until I complained the we were out of toilet paper and they showed up around 7pm.

A side note: If your staff walks out on you twice in 12 months, it not the staff that's the problem.

Now, I know I'm whining and these are "first world problems", but if I were paying $100 to stay at an average hotel I could look the other way, but I paid $444.33 per night! (when you reserve, don't forget to factor in the $50 per night in add ons for parking and resort fee)

As a comparison, upon checking out we drove to Tampa to stay at the Grand Hyatt. This was exactly the opposite experience. I reserved a room for $179 per night. No additional fees. I arrived at 2:45, but check in wasn't until 4 so I stopped at the desk to make sure it was ok to just roam around until check in time. The woman couldn't have been nicer. She checked to see if our room was ready. It wasn't but she made a call and told us to have a seat and she'd bring the key. 10 minutes later, she brought the key and told us because the room wasn't ready she upgraded us to Club Level Access. (It was still an hour before our scheduled check in time) Club Level Access gave us entry to a private level with food and drinks all day until 8pm and a 4 hour open bar! This was our first time at a Hyatt because we've been Hilton Honors members. Imagine a hotel where they treat you great the first time you visit, and the chain where you spend 12-16 night a year cares nothing about your experience.

I am sorry that you had challenges over NYE for the 2nd year in a row. It is definitely one of the busiest weekends of the year for us, and since it is right in the middle of our offseason, it makes it more challenging to get staffed up for it. This is no excuse, but it is the reality of a big signature event in the middle of your off-season. I do hope you enjoyed the 30 minutes NYE fireworks display that we sponsor, behind the hotel, and all of the NYE events that we have at the hotel, like the Roaring 20's party of our Kids Count down at the pool. We really tried to create a great atmosphere to celebrate the New Years. I am proud to say that we have very strong retention rate here at our resort, and our team members are very happy to serve our guests. Yes, our managers were helping out in laundry and housekeeping, and we were all here the entire holiday week with a All Hands on Deck approach, so you should have been able to speak with one of us. I am sorry that did not happen. We certainly appreciate your business, and hope that third time is a charm.

Even though we booked two suites in January, they put us at opposite ends of the hall. The room views were beautiful and room 333 is the best ocean facing room in the building as far as ocean views. We were told that maids cannot come into the room even tho we paid over $539 per night. There were ants in our room’s bar & were never treated. We had sandy towels and had to schlep down the hall to put them in a bin. Breakfast consisted of powdered scrambled eggs, frozen waffles, and oatmeal with soggy bacon and unbrowned sausage. The free reception provided alcohol with unmasked people but had only chips for families. A big price for a disappointment.

Thank you for your feedback. We can not guarantee rooms be close together, though we try our best when the hotel is at capacity it is almost impossible, but I am glad you got to stay in 333 which is our best view. We do have limited services still in housekeeping and with our evening reception. This is advertised in advance. Our breakfast offerings are the same, including the same product that is the brand standard for Embassy Suites. The eggs are liquid eggs, not powdered. The supply chain is still broken, and we can't always get the same items. Our made to order breakfast has just been recently re-introduced. We certainly hope to get back to normal soon, but please understand some things are out of our control. We hope you will return again once things settle back down.

During our wedding weekend we stayed at the Embassy Suits St. Augustine Beach Oceanfront Resort along with our wedding guests. The cleanleness was unreal and the pool area overlooking the beach felt like a tropical paradise. The pool staff was fantastic especially Richard who went over and beyond to make sure all our guests were happy and hydrated. Jackie the convention service manager helped us put together a welcome party under the Anastasia Terrace for our wedding guests the day everyone arrived. It was absolutely beautiful at sunset, that we decided to extend the party an extra hour due to the amazing service and wonderful display. Months prior to our stay, Jackie was extremely helpful and efficient with helping us set up our room block, arranging our events and answering all our questions in timely fashion. We cannot thank Jackie and the staff enough for catering to our wedding guests and putting on a fantastic weekend that we will never forget.

We just left from our week long stay at the Embassy Suites in St. Augustine and we can’t say enough amazing things about both the accommodations and the staff! My husband and I, along with our 3 young children (ages 7,5&1) felt both welcome and comfortable throughout our entire stay. The hotel was gorgeous, and everyone was so friendly. We spent most days switching between the pool and the beach. The pool staff was exceptional, especially Sarah E., who went above and beyond by singing fun music to our kids by the hot tub, along with playing games with them by the pool. For the price, we got a full buffet breakfast along with a complimentary happy hour which included drinks/apps daily. You can’t go wrong with this location and atmosphere. Would highly recommend!

While we were there , there was construction going on around the beach area of the hotel. I never noticed the noise. It was on the far end of the hotel. The only reason I was aware of it was due to part of the beach had orange fencing to direct you to the beach area. Sorry, I'm not aware of their future construction.
