Our family's stay was really nice at this newish hotel. It had a great location within walking distance to central St. Augustine and a trolley stop, and a heated pool that we enjoyed a few times. The breakfast was standard Homewood, but the service was spectacular overall. The room was spotless and the common area (including patio overlooking the river) was really nice to have a drink or read a book. Parking was $25/day regardless of valet or self-park - I do wish that self-park was cheaper than valet to give you a real option, but it $25 is pretty standard (or cheaper) in central St. Augustine. Overall, I'll definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it.

This hotel was a great location convenient to downtown for our veterans who were all over 72 years old. Convenient to the Distillery, Winery, & Chocolate factory & store. They gave us an exceptional room rate for the group and upon arrival told us the valet parking would be no charge. On Friday, when we reserved a room for a Hospitality room all day they did not charge us as expected. The General Manager went out of his way to accommodate us. The Wednesday happy hour for all was terrific. Breakfast were great too.

Every staff member went above and beyond the location for me was prefect, close enough to walk but far enough it wasn’t noisy. Everything from parking lot to the rooms were super clean. It’s my new go to location for St Augustine

I never write reviews. But this place is awful. Valet parking is $25 plus taxes and never had my car picked up once. I selfed parked every time. For a family of five we were provided we one shampoo and four towels. We requested towels as we were going to beach they told us no. We asked for room service and the lady cleaning said we need to give them 24 hour notice and request the room to be cleaned by called front desk. Called and they said they only clean rooms every five days, wow. Only good thing is after numerous pleading they finally provided us with some towels and tissue paper after we went to Walmart to purchase some.

Being residents of Florida, we frequently visit St. Augustine. First time staying at Homewood Suites, and unfortunately, likely the last. While the rooms were nice, service was minimal at best and forcing you to use valet parking at $25.00 plus tax per night is ridiculous. We understand downtown locations charging for parking due to very limited space, but this is not a downtown hotel. All kinds of parking space available (not being used for valet which is under the building), but they just blocked off the parking lots so that you could not self-park. Need coffee pods? Fresh towels? shampoo? Feel free to pick it up yourself at the front desk, because it won't be delivered to your room. They use Covid precautions as the reason, but they have no problem with forcing you to have a complete stranger park your vehicle (for $25 daily pus tax and tip). Lost our business as well as the 4 other couples traveling with us.

I like Homewood Suites properties a lot. I was very disappointed in this new hotel.
•First off, mandatory $25 valet parking. Who knew?
•No cell phone reception (dead zone). It’s a completely cement building (of course it is). WiFi doesn’t work at all either.
•It borders a marsh (it is kinda pretty at sunrise), a busy construction area, so you can’t walk anywhere from the hotel. There’s also nowhere to walk to (like a CVS or food place).
•There are only two luggage carts
•The bathtubs are so slippery, I worried for my senior mother (who’s already got a shoulder injury).
•The laundry room only has a washer/dryer combination unit, which wasn’t really helpful if I only needed to dry my clothes. Not that I could have, because the machine costs $1.50 in quarters, which I couldn’t get change at the front desk. As she’s counting her cash drawer. “Sorry I can’t give you change. You’ll have to come back later. I said I was checking out after breakfast.” Shrug and smirk.
•Half the room had no power to charge items, tv and lights didn’t work. I didn’t realize this until after I had come back from dinner with a friend, and my senior mom was in the dark with the dog (she didn’t want to fuss with the front desk). I mentioned it at the front desk the next morning, and management did take off our $75 pet fee (!) for our trouble (as it was a faulty circuit - reassuring statement).
•Housekeeping will just leave all the dishes, etc in the dishwasher, not in the cabinets.

On the plus side, it was clean, spacious, and the pool area looked nice. The breakfast was varied and available as posted.

I would not recommend this place.

The hotel is new and therefore still in good condition. The $25 valet parking seems to be a gouge as there is a large (mostly empty) parking lot adjacent plus parking on ground floor of building. We could walk out the door and literally just around the corner where our car was parked, yet we had to request it from the parking attendant each time we wanted to leave, and each time we felt obligated to tip. The valet parking is the main reason for my average rating. The room was fine. It was clean. Hilton is subtly shrinking the suite sizes. Oddly, there was NO drawer in the kitchen, not one. Everything up in the cabinets. Big broken chunk out of one of the light pendants in bath vanity. On a positive note, we had a bottle breaking accident in the kitchen, and staff sent someone up immediately to help clean. She was very polite and pleasant. In fact, all staff we met were friendly and polite. Seems like it is time to expand the grab and go breakfast as all restaurants in town are fully open.

Homewood Suites is a brand new hotel across a river about a 1/2 mile walk from downtown St. Augustine. It's therefore not the most convenient property, but costs significantly less. The rooms and common areas are new and stylish. They appear to be building a parking garage, but for now, there's a steep - and required - $25/day valet parking charge.

A "full" breakfast is included daily, but it's pretty unimpressive. Scrambled eggs, pastries, cold cereal, toast and oatmeal and that's it. Also, I stayed four days and it was exactly the same every day, so it gets old quickly and I got breakfast off-property by day 3 as a result.

Another issue is a pathetic fitness center in which the only weight equipment was a bench and a dumbbell rack.

My friend and I stayed last night with our four kids. When we arrived, we realized the staff were not wearing masks and none of the guests were either! My son has complex medical conditions (yes, multiple), and getting Covid would be devastating to his compromised immune system. This was the first road trip we’ve taken in over a year. An employee at the front desk told us the hotel manager has advised the employees not to wear masks because it infringes on their freedom. Yet during a worldwide pandemic my friend and I trusted our health and the health and safety of our kids to the Hilton brand, and we were let down. I spoke with Homewood Suites customer service (after holding for over 30 minutes) a d they said they’d contact the hotel manager, but when we returned 3 hours later no one was wearing a mask. That night I tweeted at Hilton and Homewood and they responded, apologized, etc. but offered nothing. We never had breakfast, or used any of the amenities, because we had to dash from car to room since no one else was masked indoors. Stay someplace else if you value your health. The stickers on the room doors are a waste. With an airborne virus, if the staff isn’t masked while cleaning the rooms, they aren’t really clean.

We went to a nearby “hotel” that was priced more and quickly found they had bed bugs. We ended up staying here last minute. Not only did this hotel beat the other hotel price but the amenities and customer service were also amazing. Check In was easy and quick. All of the staff we encountered were very nice and cordial. We went to the historical area a couple times for dinner and to tour the fort. We took Uber without any issues. Breakfast was included and was great, so many choices. Nice NEW hotel that beats so many other older hotel in the area. We didn’t use the pool but walked the area and they have grills near the pool and the rooms seems to have everything you would need to cook/grill. I’m a hotel “snob” and can verify this is a clean, new, up to date hotel that I would defy stay in again when we return return to the area.

They are pet friendly and, I remember seeing many dogs but, no cats. I would say that they welcome cats as well but, to be sure you would need to call the hotel itself.
