We stayed for a family vacation during the month of April and loved the facilities! It is pretty close to all the museums and attractions. Front desk staff was very friendly and we made it to the hotel a little early and our room was ready. Rooms were comfortable and the space was great! The only detail was that they never cleaned my room during the stay. Because of covid you have to write a card and leave it on front desk whenever you want service and I did handed a card but my room was never cleaned or replenished. I could see housekeeping on the hallway but they kept skipping our room even when I left the card asking for service. It got to the point where I bought trash bags and placed all the trash outside the room in the morning so they would take it. Other than that everything else was fantastic and we will be visiting again!

Hotel's Favourite
My family and I planned a trip over thanksgiving to get away and relax in beautiful St. Augustine. All I have to say is thank God for Amex pulling through and booking a last minute reservation at the Holiday Inn Historic! The first hotel was awful and was represented wrong online. Haley at the front desk was extremely kind, sweet, hospitable and friendly. Unbeknownst to us, this was our second time staying here and will not be the last. Thank you Holiday Inn, Amex and Haley!

The front desk staff were amazing. Even loaned us an umbrella (it was pouring out) for us to use while walking about the city and doing the hop on trolley. (We got there quite early and our room wasn't available until regular check-in time). But then we got to the room, which we were told was an "upgrade". We reserved a king, got double queen. Not such a big deal, so we just kept it. Not worth the effort to go back to desk. However, it had connecting door to adjacent room that allowed noise and coversations into our room as if the other guests were right inside our room. We were afraid to speak above a whisper or our private conversations would be heard by our neighbors. Also, an article of clothing was left behind from a previous guest...meaning the room was not properly cleaned and inspected. Also, strangely, the name of a restaurant was on the front entrance, not the hotel name. We drove by thinking the hotel was somewhere else. Odd. Bed was good.

Hi MOJOGOGOWEGO, Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for posting a candid review. I was very concerned to read your comments regarding the room assignment, noise, soundproofing, and housekeeping service. I understand your dismay and I am sorry. This is not the joy of travel for all experience that we wanted for all our guests. I will make sure to share your comments with our team for the necessary improvements needed on our end. I appreciate you as our guest and I still hope you would give us another chance in the future. Orlando A. Case Manager IHGService

We really did not care for our stay here. First, it seems like maintenance is an issue. Key card would not work at one of the exterior doors. The toilet in our bathroom was on again/off again. Sometimes would only fill if tank lid was lifted. The whirlpool at the pool was not very warm. Most IHG properties have a complimentary breakfast. This one you had to pay for. Also, most IHG hotels have a sundries area where you could purchase snacks, drinks, or a few essentials. Not this one. They had a few vending machines in the building and for half our trip, they would not accept a card. At most IHG properties, the business center is a room. Not here, it is by the front desk with little privacy and no chairs. They have you fill out a card about what kind of cleaning you want. We selected full service. One morning, they dumped trash and gave fresh towels, but did not make up the beds. The limited contact with the staff was good. The hotel was clean, but the staff needs to get trash out of the halls more often. The hotel is within walking distance to the mission, Fountain of Youth, and the Old Jail. A little too far to walk to downtown.

Hello Scott S, Thanks for the stay and review. I am sorry to hear about the issues you had with the toilet, the key card and the whirlpool. I also apologize that the property did not have enough vending machines and that the business area was not the usual like other Holiday Inns. I have taken note of your comments and shared them with management for review to take necessary actions to address these concerns. I hope you give us a chance to host you again in the future. Best Regards, John O Case Manager IHGService

We saw other rooms that were cheaper, but since we were only staying 1 night we decided to spend the extra money to stay here, since it’s a well known hotel. I’m glad we did. Kids got free breakfast and the room was super clean. The front desk was amazing and helped us get a ride after the trolley was closed. Overall we would stay here again.
