Nestled in St Augustine's historic downtown, Days Inn by Wyndham is lauded for its prime location and on-site Denny's, although opinions on its amenities are mixed, with a clean but basic atmosphere. While some guests commend the hotel for clean rooms and affable staff, contrasting views highlight occasional service lapses and issues with pool maintenance. Room experiences vary, with reports of both spotlessness and untidiness, and although recent updates are acknowledged, some guests have encountered maintenance woes. In terms of value, the hotel's affordability is recognized, despite some guests finding it wanting in expected amenities.

Since we were only staying for one night this hotel was a great find for us. There were 2 couples traveling together and the front desk girl put us next to each other and away from someone traveling with a dog (since she said they might bark). Although they do not offer any breakfast there is a Dennys on the property which is open 24 hours. The bedrooms had vinyl wood floors which always seem cleaner than carpeting. I would certainly stay here again and it is a great value.

I don't understand the poor reviews. The room in which I stayed was very clean, the beds were extremely comfortable, the wi fi worked well - nothing felt dated and, in fact, I expected much less and was extremely happy with how nice everything was in the room. The property is within walking distance to the historic district and is close to many other restaurants/attractions. Room service was by request, but was provided very satisfactorily when I requested it. For the price, this property was a bargain. The only improvement would be to train the front desk clerks to not appear sour when guests arrive or come through the lobby. An unpleasant experience upon arrival can set an unpleasant tone for the entire stay. In contrast, the cheerfulness of one of the morning desk clerks, named Nempha, created a bright and happy start to each day with her wonderfully upbeat attitude and cheerful demeanor. The property charges a non-refundable pet fee, but it's more reasonable than many motels/hotels.

This budget motel with free parking is at the edge of the historic district between A1A and US1 , just yards from the Mission and Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche. With no elevators we were satisfied to take a first floor room with parking outside our door. The outside looked worn out with dings in the door and chipped paint. Potholes in the parking lot are chronic as there is a sign: Caution Potholes. This motel looks used and old from the outside.
The room was large with two queen beds, desk, small refrigerator desk chair and easy chair. Renovations make it look inviting on opening the door. Well organized and clean . The 54 inch TV was well placed. This room was immaculately clean on arrival and after cleaning the first night . Bathroom small but adequate and very clean with simple amenities of soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. Towels were surprisingly plush for a "cheap" motel. The queen beds had three pillows each and wore good linens and were comfortable.
We chose to be at the back of the motel away from busy US 1 and it was quiet. We felt safe in this first floor room.
Odd was the statement that nothing would be done to freshen the room each day unless we called and asked for cleaning that day. WE presumed COVID shortage of staff. WE needed fresh towels and toilet paper so we had no hesitation to ask for "freshening"
This Days Inn gives no breakfast and refers customers to the Denny's in their building. Denny's was the disappointment as they did not stay open 24 hours as the sign reads . Denny's did not open in the morning for our use for breakfast. Other places are nearby for breakfast including Mc Donald's and Village Inn.

WE found it easier to get to the Historic District by using the back driveway to A1A . It is just 5 blocks to the fort and downtown Festival of Lights

In over 40 years of traveling for both business & pleasure this is the WORST nighttime experience that I’ve encountered. From 10:45 pm until 4 am “the family” next door with children ranging from approximately 2 yrs old - 18 yrs old and “parents” yelled, played loud tv, spoke non stop Spanish, banged furniture around and knocked into walls. We called the front desk 3 times over 2 shifts and nothing was done to stop this ridiculous behavior. They said “maintenance would check in on the matter” and clearly no one so much as stood near the door. We heard the phone ring on the second call we made and no one picked up. It was quiet for approximately one minute and after the phone quit ringing the noise resumed. The next morning checking out we were told that the owner would call us on Monday after his “ weekend away”. We asked for the owner as we saw a navy Mercedes parked outside and the employee said “he left his car while he was way” Is this a new way to bait and switch “fake new” that this is a reputable place. Nothing Wyndam about it whatsoever. Hopefully someone from Wyndam realizes how poorly their name is being represented. Less than the “Days Inn” that it in reality is. We drive a nice vehicles (Cadillac & Lexus) so it’s not a jealousy matter. If you flash luxury, then be a professional and follow up. We don’t need charity. What you receive here is no return call back upon two calls in after departure and 3 promises total that we would be called back by Mr Patel himself. I also told the on staff desk manager that the review will go up if no call back today. Perhaps “Mr Patel” should consider owning a nightclub or take some pride in ownership. (a week after his return trip and still no follow up has transpired) I now feel the public needs to know what they might experience. It’s one thing to “not be aware” that 6-8 people are camped out in a 2 bed room, its quite another to have to pay to be awake all night from rude people that your staff refuse to take the steps to quiet a riot. . This was to be a family time to relax and enjoy the Christmas lights of incredible St Augustine and instead it was like staying in a housing project. Additionally then walls are banged up and bathroom door chewed up on the bottom as though a dog was locked up inside and tried to claw its way out. No other rooms were available so we mopped up the bathroom flooring with a towel before going barefoot.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here on a weekend visit to St. Augustine. Decent price for a Saturday night stay. The rooms are older but the place is clean and there is a good sized tv, refrigerator, ironing board, coffee maker and microwave. Wore white socks walking on the wood floors and the socks stayed white! No frills here but a good location and the front desk staff are super helpful and friendly.

Days Inn has a great location near a couple great attractions (The Old Jail and Fountain of Youth within walking distance) and the trolley. The pool was clean and inviting. My suggestion would be to invest in better towels - they were very thin and scratchy and better coffee in the lobby! Water pressure in the shower was very poor. And the outside garbages were not emptied often - we were there five nights and the last three days the garage can was overflowing. They did not provide daily maid service but we were able to exchange linens.

We visited for three nights and four days. The only issues we had were that we did not have a microwave but saw other rooms did. The room was okay, sheets and blankets were okay quality though there were some cracks in the sink counter and dressers had some messed up handles. The bathroom was fine it was nice that the sink was separate so if someone is the bathroom you can still use the sink and mirror, though the shower pressure was really low. Overall we had an okay stay.

There were several areas where there were paint chips and the bathroom and room doors were both damaged on the bottom. the vent in the bathroom looked like it had never been cleaned, dirt in the corners, and you could see daylight through the room door. The shower had no pressure and I had to find the housekeeper for supplies. The desk offered to move us the day before we were checking out. The rates changed almost daily, it started out under $100 a night and by the last night was $145. There is no way the room was worth that much!!

Low rating is not for staff, both staff members i dealt with were very friendly and helpful. The low rating is for the condition of the facility, (lobby had a distinct musty odor, door to our room did not fully close due to past efforts to force it open when locked). Location also contained a Denny's restaurant which is one of my road trip favorites. This particular Denny's has restrooms which are located down a long hall (approx. 60 feet and still part of the hotel structure), several steps down this hall heading to the restrooms and you encounter an overpowering odor of urine/feces which gets progressively worse the closer you get to the restrooms. I did venture inside the Men's restroom for a brief visit, needless to say, I did not eat at this Denny's based on the condition of the restroom. We actually cut our stay from 2 nights down to 1 night due to the overall condition of our room. We booked the second night at the Holiday Inn next door, no comparison between the two, Holiday Inn scores at the top of the scale.

The hotel is in a very good location within the historic district. It is in walking distance of many restaurants and attractions. The rooms are clean and the price is reasonable in comparison to other hotels in the historic district, however, customer service is minimal, and rooms could use some refurbishment.
