Totally disgusted with this location. I unfortunately had to cancel my reservation 6 days prior to our stay due to a family emergency, with is life threatening, and the GM Olivia, was as cold as it gets by charging us a nights stay even though the hotel rebooked our room the same day and is sold out. If you want to stay at a location that doesn’t care about the guest, their safety or how they feel, then this is your location. It isn’t the money that upsets me, it is the lack of care and concern for another human being. This was to be a celebration of both my husband and my birthdays but instead, we are using our birthday wish to pray my father makes it out of the hospital. If the GM treats their guests this way, then they definitely should not be in a guest service position. Even the corporate office agrees with me and this is on her record. Unbelievable!…
We had a wonderful two-night stay at Castillo Real. We chose a suite with balcony and hot tub, and it was very relaxing and comfortable. Our room was on the corner on the 4th floor, and the large balcony gave us a beautiful view of the ocean and the pool. The room was clean and very spacious. The bed was soft and comfortable. We enjoyed the large walk-in shower with 5 different shower heads. The hotel was very well kept, and all the staff we encountered were very friendly and professional.
This was a getaway for my wife and I before her having a surgery with a long recovery. We were spending 4 days and 3 nights here. This was my 20th trip to St. Augustine and by far my worst experience. We are coming back again in the fall but will not stay here. The first issue was we arrived at 3:30. I know that the check in was not till 4 but thought we might get lucky. We were told to go eat and then come back. Well we do and then come back and then told it is still not ready. We go to the grocery store and then come back to a room that is finally ready at around 6. We then find out that our first two days the water will be turned off for 2 to 3 hours in the middle of the day. Our room was not properly cleaned due to the shower curtain being really dirty. The sauna was broken. The hot tub jets did not work. The drink machine was serving really hot drinks. There was no cleaning service so you have to get new towels downstairs if you need them but you have to make sure you change them out. There were more issues but I will stop complaining. I just like people to be informed. I constantly look here for reviews myself.…
Used 30000 reward points for each night, stayed 3 nights. After !st night I went to the manager and complained about issues,1-five pillows and not one of them soft,like rocks, manager said no fix. 2-Air conditioner sound like the space shuttle taking off when unit came on,manager said no fix. 3-toilet ran water alnight,manager said will fix.4-Bathroom door slamed against counter when released,manager said will fix.5-No internet inroom, manager said issue was my computer,not fixed.6- Cell phone had no signal in room, manager said my provider didn't work.Never Again Cell worked outside of room-internet after 1 1/2 days.
The hotel is older and needs repair it is expensive our room smelled of sewage and when we complained they pretty much said that was normal no apology the counter charged my credit card twice for incidentals the three nights we stayed we had no turn down service so overall a horrible stay for 549.00 after complaining to customer care they credit my rewards card 8000 points I will not stay with them again as it left a bad smell with me there was damage throughout the property and not kept up very well
