Wait until they finish the remodeling to go, maybe it will be nice. Noisy elevators, heat and air and electrical rooms, no sound proofing and holes just punched through walks to run wires through. The bathrooms and showers must have been remodeled because they are nice with good water pressure and nice tile and shower head. The rest just feels icky and we slept in our van in the parking lot instead of the beds. The front desk clerk was friendly and accommodating.
Wow! Guy Harvey resort has the best of everything! The room was spotless, it smells great, we brought our dog Marley, beach front hotel, swimming pool right off our room, delicious food at Santiago’s, wonderful customer service, and the price was right! No hidden fees! The other patrons were respectful and everything on the property is perfectly maintained. The beach had plenty of people, but not crowded at all. We are very pleased with our first vacation in Florida and our first trip to St. Augustine.
You can't find a better vacation spot than this property. Dead center on Anastasia Island. Excellent service, good on-site restaurant and terrific pool setting for an evening concert. Glad to see that the hurricane just glanced here and the resort was at full speed in two days.
Typical 3-star Hotel, I would not call this a resort. I was impressed at how dog and kid-friendly the hotel is. For the "fur babies" there is a large grass area in front of the hotel and lots of sidewalks with grass leading to the beach area. The rooms with bunk beds for the kids are trey cool! The resort provides poolside, clean pool towels. You can also return the towels there when you are done. There is a large bin full of pool noodles, beach balls, etc for kids to use in the pool area which I thought was a nice touch. Poolside there is a small tiki bar. They do have "bar foods" at certain times of the day such as sandwiches etc. The bar staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the area. In the lobby are a restaurant and a small gift shop where you can buy merch. Housekeeping does a good job of providing fresh linens. Also, the room I was in was very clean. The only thing I did not like about my room was the size of the sink in the bathroom and that we were next to the main door guest had to use to enter the building from the lobby, it was very loud all night long but I'm the only light sleeper in the family. Overall I would say the room rate is fair for the room we had. Other guests I spoke to by the pool were not happy with their rooms or views.…
Stayed for 4 nights in early September. Was hesitant to book at first since there were several not so nice reviews. But very happy I did! Not a luxury type place at all - very functional. Older but kept up ok in my opinion. Can be expensive but where isn't here! Our oceanfront room - top floor - was just fine. Great view and quiet. Our room did have a refrigerator and a microwave. Noticed a general for everyone's use microwave down on the first floor. No safe in room. Bathroom very small but workable. Found all the employees at front desk and housekeeping were very pleasant. Ate breakfast at the on-site restaurant once and no complaints. Very easy access to the beautiful beach. Easy location to get to other places from. A supermarket is nearby also. So all in all, enjoyed our stay, and would stay there again as long as had an oceanfront room!…
Paid extra for partial view- no view unless u go out on balcony and position urself correctly- room view 100% parking lot. Walls dirty. Carpet flat from no vacuuming- put down towels on carpet. Towel I used to wipe down bath/entry floor was so dirty after. If not here with family for short stay and busy with them I would of asked to checkout and refund. Recent remodeling is lost on lack of upkeep and unkept...especially for price. I will not be staying at a Guy Harvey "Resort" nor recommend one.
It’s a run down dump. Definitely not a resort. Terrible parking, very limited dog walking area. The Beach Front hotel rooms faced the parking lots. Rooms were dirty and uncomfortable. We checked out much earlier than we planned. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.
We love Guy Harvey, this is our second annual family vacation. 5 rooms, will probably make a third trip here next time. Everyone is so nice, all the staffers especially Jerry. We needed a dog friendly hotel and we are so impressed at how dog friendly it really is. We love this place. Next year I’ll get at least one pool room out of the five we book. See ya next year and thanks for everything!
Tiki Bartender needs an attitude adjustment. 7:00:pm 7/15/22. He had an assistant who was a nice young man, and was trying (bad role model, kid), but the lead bartender was simply a jerk. I’ve stayed at this hotel and wanted to share how cute the tiki bar was & the fun ambience shown on social media-#NOT-with some girlfriends (we’re all from out of town). But, instead I was embarrassed by the rudeness of the bartender who can only make drinks on the sign & smarted each of us (8) off in some way. Following this on social media gives a completely different idea of what really is going on—It’s Not fun, Not welcoming. He’s a sexist. He was only friendly to the other redneck guys there. We had 1 drink & left.nAnd we’re all great tippers—-his loss! Sorry, wasn’t wearing a bikini, my wallet is too big.…
Great service from entire staff. Received exceptional service at the trading company gift store. Alicia was very helpful with answering all of our questions regarding the area and things to do. Also, Chrissy at the front desk was very accommodating as well. Your follow-up text messages were appreciated.
