We stayed at the Sirata hotel at the start of September for 10 nights. The first room we were allocated was dark and dingy and had more of a view of the car park and swimming pool then it did of the Gulf- the internet wasn’t working so we were given a different room in the main building, which i believe had been recently decorated.
The hotel was ok- nothing special, you really are paying for the location, I wouldn’t say to not stay at the Sirata- what i would say based on the cost, and then the resort fee per night of $40, and then the car parking charge of $25 that it wasn’t value for money in my opinion…maybe i was expecting a bit much but when you are spending a months take home pay to stay at a hotel then unfortunately the Sirata falls short, especially when there was constant building work on the floor we were relocated too.
This is maybe a tad unfair on the staff that worked there, as they were always friendly and polite when they walked past you, but the hotel is charging 4 star prices but only delivering 2.5 star value.

This has been our go to resort for over 10 years. While the change in ownership has resulted in some negative changes, our stay was still great. Room was ready early and housekeeping was timely Bring back the beach drink cart and offer beach loungers at no cost. I get paying for umbrellas and cabanas but 20.00 a day to lay on a chair?? We are familiar with the property and most of the staff.

Checked into this resort after an awful experience at a place further up the strip. We had a small suite type room for five of us with small balcony and kitchenette - fridge , sink, microwave and utensils etc. two queen size beds and a pull out bed. Room was clean, quiet with sea view. The resort itself felt nice. Beach access with kids play area and hammocks. Two pools with bars attached. We managed to get chairs by the pool on the days we were there and it never felt overly busy - think the busy spring break crowds were thinning out. Easy walking down to beach for a sea swim, though think the beach chairs are extra cost though.
Both bars had music during the day and evening which was good - not too loud or overbearing! Bar offered a fair selection of food for lunch or snacks and seemed reasonable, what I liked about this resort is it felt safer and more contained than the place we left. All guests had wrist bands as evidence of being a guest. That said it is quite a large complex
Staff were helpful with any queries we had.
Can see some reviews say rooms aren’t very nice and bit damp and I could smell damp at times in the building but our room was fine. Overall a good value beach resort that suited our purposes.

My daughter and I attended Jillian’s beach yoga class, and it was absolutely fantastic! She is such a positive and motivating instructor. The setting on the beach was perfect, a little brisk for January— but a great way to start the day. We left feeling stretched, refreshed, and ready for the day ahead in St. Pete!
Thank you, Coach Jillian Dzieciol

To start, the hidden fees that are required at check in should be advertised a lot better. I would have never spent the $400 to book a room if I knew I was going to be charged an additional $250 at check in for "resort fees", "incidental fees", and parking. When we arrived at our room, our pull out couch had crumbs, dirt, fingernails, and live bugs crawling around in it. When we went to use the TV that night we found out that we had to pay for basic channels like CBS and ABC because the hotels "contract expired" and if we wanted to view those channels that would be an additional expense. We had our AC set to 60 degrees because the room felt extremely warm and it blew out nothing but warm air the entire time we stayed no matter how much we adjusted the thermostat. The following day my boyfriend and I were going to be out of our room for an extended period of time throughout the day. We were never provided with a "do not disturb" sign to hang on our door so we called down to the front desk and kindly asked that they let housekeeping know that we DID NOT want them to come into our room. We arrived back at our room a few hours later to a bag of trash sitting outside our door. When we entered the room, we saw that the bed was made, and my wallet was sitting in the middle of the bed. The irony of this is that the only thing that was done to our room was the bed being made and 1 trash can was emptied. Trash was still left in the kitchen area, in other trash cans, there were dirty towels that we had put in the bathtub that were not taken. So, housekeeping did come into our room after we asked not to have housekeeping service until we checked out, but they only cleaned 1/3 of the entire hotel room. Our overall experience was extremely unpleasant and made for an awful end to our vacation. I feel as though I was nickel and dimed for every little thing that I possibly could have been and for as much as I had paid to stay at this resort, I absolutely did not feel like I got my money's worth. I could not recommend a different hotel for people to stay at enough!

Worse place I ever stayed. The room was not cleaning properly, dirt and grim in all the corners doors were over due for a cleaning makers all over them with with drips from dirty hands. The A/C, heater and humidify wheee is dire need of cleaning. All the filter and the unit it self was full of dust/dirts. The ceiling were also full of dust hanging from them. The place was totally rundown and in need of upgrading

I will start by saying the hotel has a great location only feet from the beach and the food was great at harry’s and rum runners. But besides that buyer beware my wife i knew there was a $40 resort fee per night but once we arrived to the beach the next morning to our surprise you have to pay $20 for an umbrella for two chairs that you get with each room. So my question is what is the resort fee for if you have to rent an umbrella for $20 everyday if you want to go to the beach that adds up quickly as a Frivolous charge not to mention i could not see any other perks we received for our resort fee besides two chairs that where very worn out and terribly uncomfortable. Very misleading on the hotels part i looked back and could find no mention of having to rent umbrellas anywhere on there website. Also our room was very dirty and dingy we called the first night to have someone unclog our drain in the sink because it would not drain any water you used it took two phone calls and a walk to the main desk to have someone show up by 7pm to unblock the drain so we could brush our teeth. We also asked if the cleaning ladys could sweep our floor do to the fact there was sand left by the previous tenants of the room during our five day stay no-one came to sweep the floor. I would do my research if you are planning on staying at this hotel they are very misleading with the resort fee and what it offers and what you receive. My wife and i booked another hotel for the same week next year with a different hotel and their resort fee covers chairs and an umbrella for your whole stay what a novel idea. Needless to stay we would have loved to come back for a second stay but based off of the misleading resort fee and 20 a day for an UMBRELLA and the cleanliness of the room we will not be returning. Just seems like this hotel is trying to nickel and dime you anywhere you can those umbrellas have been paid for many times over. What a shame. We will see if the hotel contacts me to discuss this if they do i will update my review.

Shocking !!DO NOT STAY HERE. Read all reviews carefully. Firstly before I start the review I want to make it clear that even one star is a complete joke. I’m not even sure how this hotel is allowed to be open.. it was more run down motel than hotel. Having been sold last year the new owners should have closed it for essential refurbishment. We stayed here 6 years ago and enjoyed our time at the hotel. So much so we convinced family that live in the states to stay and meet here for vacation. Stupidly due to our last stay we didn’t read the recent reviews on Sirata which are mostly terrible. Between us we had two standard rooms (no balcony’s) and one room with ocean view. All the rooms were run down, dirty and old furniture. Bed bases were stained and disgusting, shower heads loose from wall, marks and scratches on most walls, stained curtains, pillows smelt, large gaps under door .. cockroach in one room, noisy air conditioning unit in room which leaked on the floor, floors were never cleaned and you could not have bare feet in the room .. even out of the shower. Cleaners were rude and couldn’t speak English they either didn’t come at all or turned up at 5:30pm whilst we were getting showered and ready to go out. They only changed towels and made the beds .. no way was there any cleaning. Lifts were horrid inside and the whole place was just a nightmare.. fire alarm kept going off. it completely ruined our vacation. One of the room doors would not open without shoulder barging your way in, resulting in the children not being able to open the door. Resort fees are on top of your stay and parking each day. If you want sun beds on the beach at Sirata they are also extra. This hotel is done and needs huge investment. The owners obviously want to take your money and have no care for peoples holiday experience. We had to find a hotel for one last evening and discovered that the resort next door.. the Bellwether is cheaper and resort fees are included which includes sun beds and umbrellas. The bellwether has also just been fully refurbished and all rooms have balcony’s, it was paradise compared to Sirata so please spend you hard earned money elsewhere as accommodation really matters on holiday. The Sirata is the only hotel I’ve not been asked at checkout if everything was ok and did we enjoy our stay… I wonder why. I apologised to family for recommending Sirata which ruined the whole vacation.

We have stayed here many times, but this will be the last. First, the rooms are in desperate need of renovation. Our toilet would not flush and ran all night. The bedding is essentially 2 layers of sheets, no quilt. Forget any type of sound barrier in the rooms. We heard furniture being moved around through the night, as well as someone playing basketball in their room. Security is rude. I lost an expensive piece of jewelry so I sent my 18 year old daughter to the hot tub to look for it. The hot tub closes at 10 (yes, during Spring Break) and it was a few minutes after 10. The security guard told her if she didn’t get out, he would have someone physically remove her. Then when I went to help her, he was a jerk. Very sarcastic- asking how large the ring was because he bought his wife a 2 carat diamond. Travelers used to get two beach chairs per room as part of the resort fee. Not anymore. $20 per chair. We brought our own but about an hour after we were set up on the beach, they came and told everyone to move because we were too close to the rentals chairs. Did I mention the hot tub has so much chlorine it totally bleached our bathing suits? I am never one to write a poor review on TA but I am warning you, just stay somewhere else.

Unfortunately, have to rate this "resort" as 1. The best part of this property is the location which is fantastic (St. Pete's beach)--but the resort itself fails in just about every aspect.
The room we got was not ready for the advertised 4 p.m. checkin time and we were told there was no estimate for when it could be ready, so just wait for a text. About 2 1/2 hours later we finally get the text that we can checkin and get access to the room.
The room and resort is very dated and probably in the most filthy condition for any room I've stayed in going back to when I was younger and backpacking and staying in hostels. Two of the days, they did not make up the rooms at all and just left new towels—definitely not something you get from a place advertising itself as a destination resort.
The furniture had stains on it, bathroom had barely been cleaned, the sink had more stains. It definitely does not have a resort vibe to it and resembles maybe a roadside motel feel, at resort like rates. Nothing special is included in these rates, no chairs or umbrellas on the beach, no breakfast, etc. They factor in self parking at $25/day.
The beach is really nice and that was the best part of the stay. I would definitely not book back here again and go to another hotel nearby, even if they charged a little more. The only other positive point for this property was that the front desk staff and bar staff were very friendly. If the rooms got a refresh and better cleaning service, this could be a 3-3.5 star property.

Lots of restaurants in walking distance. Not so much downtown. But I recommend going for walks around the area. Each morning we would walk the little peninsulas by there and see the neat housing area.
There are more places to choose from in the St. Pete Beach area.
