The Hilton Garden Inn St. Pete Beach is celebrated for its vibrant atmosphere, complete with live music and delectable beachside dining, though a few guests find the tunes overwhelmingly loud. Its cleanliness generally garners positive remarks, with most facilities and rooms well-kept, but there have been isolated complaints regarding water purity. While the service is often lauded as friendly, instances of unprofessional behavior have been noted. Opinions on value are split, with guests appreciating the included amenities but balking at hidden charges and high-priced services. The hotel's amenities, including its beachfront locale, cabanas, and pool, are well-received, despite some grumbles about room views and maintenance. Room experiences vary, ranging from satisfaction with comfort and cleanliness to disappointment over maintenance issues and views. The location is widely praised for its closeness to the beach and local attractions, enhancing its appeal for beachgoers.

We visited 3 weeks after the island was hit by not one, but two hurricanes. It was very impressive the way the hotel was up and running. The beach hut was washed away, so it was a bit of a trek to get towels, but understanding was needed. The restaurant on the beach though was open, providing live music and some decent beach eats. The first floor of the hotel was closed for repairs due to water damage but the rest of the floors were open and the rooms were standard, however there was always staff around and the rooms were constantly attended to and well maintained. The ocean was somewhat cloudy but that was to be expected after a hurricane. The beach itself is beautiful providing gorgeous views, especially at sunset and plenty of seating. The pool is on the smaller side but is ample. The staff is unbelievably friendly and accommodating….so helpful on our trip with every request. The location is great! The hotel is right on the beach and the main drag is out front with most things within a very walkable distance. The timing of our visit was unfortunate as the hurricane marred certain things, but we have no doubt that this location is where we want to be on a return visit.

Beautiful location and excellent accommodations is the best way to describe this Hilton Resort. We live on the Atlantic side of Florida, so a few times a year we like to explore the west side. St. Pete beach and this property does not disappoint. Get a Gulf front room to drink coffee in the mornings on the balcony. At night, enjoy the terrific guitar singers at Coconut Charlie’s right on the beach. The King room bed was spacious and very comfortable. If you are older and enjoy more quiet time, stay Monday thru Thursday when the DJs are not booming music till 10 PM. The weekends seem to cater to the younger set. Breakfast and lunch at the restaurants are very good and reasonably priced. You can walk to any number of good places for dinner close to this resort. Water bottles are provided for your room and the cabanas on the sand are great. The gulf water is so clear and you can see fish, and manatees in the morning surf. Gulf Blvd is busy with lots of traffic, so once you are at this Hilton there is really no need to leave. If you love the Gulf and a beautiful setting stay here. The sunsets are awesome!

Really nice place, very friendly and helpful staff, really clean. Right on the beach and the beach is amazing. Staff member on the beach making sure the seating is organised- she also swam out and saved a man from drowning which was impressive.
Pool is a good size and always clean with a squirrel whispering lady taking care of it and handing out towels etc.
The food at the on site tiki bar is outstanding, compliments to the Chefs. Live music every night is a fun addition.

Great restaurants and shops nearby. Check out the coffee surf shop up the road.

Now for the only negative- the breakfast. Although the food is nice, you get a small amount of protein with a heap of potatoes in every meal. They won't let you swap the potatoes for meat or eggs as they 'cost different amounts'. My advice to the hotel would be to chill out on this. We all know how cheap bacon and eggs are and your prices are more than enough to make significant profit. I'm delicate in the morning so this started to wind me up. I don't want a mountain of potatoes for breakfast thanks.

Other than that a quality stay, I just wouldn't purchase the breakfast package next time.

After lots of review reading we chose this hotel as Hilton diamond members. I will say the beach is amazing and so good for long walks both directions. The cabanas and towels are free with your stay. Cabanas are first come first serve so it’s good to get out there when you first wake up. Bar and restaurant are pricey, but as you can imagine on vacation everything is. Drinks were delicious! Room was newer you could tell, modern vibes. Very small balcony.. I chose the 3rd floor because people on trip advisor were saying 3rd floor for a possible ocean view. We couldn’t see any ocean on 3rd floor. Building is only 4 floors anyway. Upon arrival we tried to check in 1 hour early, they had some issues with power outages on the whole street which is no fault of theirs, so I imagine that played a big role in cleaning rooms. However they did not allow a free room upgrade for diamond Hilton members, they did give us 2 free waters and a small bag of popcorn for being diamond members ( that was very nice, but also felt like a slap in the face when we have spend hundreds, thousands of dollars on our hilton stays to accumulate that status.) i messaged about 5 times before check in asking for a diamond room upgrade and was told the same thing every time, that it’s upon availability and will check at arrival. We went to get groceries down the road while we waited to check in. I did research that Hilton garden inns don’t participate in diamond upgrades. Not sure if that’s true or not? Beach was amazing and views were incredible. The previous night we stayed at Hilton Clearwater and would definitely stay there again, we were upgraded to a 9th floor suite with absolutely amazing room views. I am glad we got to explore both st Pete and Clearwater, but I’m not sure we will book this exact hotel again. Thank you for your hospitality Hilton st Pete!

The good.
Outstanding Resort. Well maintained. Outstanding professional & courteous staff. Special recognition to Janet, The Pool Lady. She is like the Energizer Bunny, never stops. She insurers that there are always fresh poolside towels available & keeps the pool area neat and clean. She never stops and always had a wonderful smile & great attitude. How she does it during the extreme heat, is beyond me. Also big thank you to Maria, The Sales Manager. When she discovered that we were there celebrating our anniversary, she sent us a little gift and great card. Please thank Maria & Janet. Outstanding job.
Great location.

The bad.
I hate resort fees and feel that it cheapens your brand. To me, it is a bait and switch policy that should be eliminated. Just charge the proper rate and don't add it to the bill. Room & Tax & Resort Fee & Additional Tax. The other thing that cheapens your brand is in the little gift shop/shopping area. No prices. So does that mean when hotel is fully occupied, prices increase & low vacancy, prices decrease? Just price the merchandise accordingly and don't play another round of bait & switch.

You have a great resort , wonderful staff, and brand recognition. Don't cheapen it by attempting to charge more than advertised. If your competition is also charging these add on fees, take the lead, and advertise that you no longer will charge them. Decide if you want to be a leader or follower in your industry.

This is a 3 star hotel - nothing more.

There is a security issue because not all the doors require a key to open - just always open to anyone. The hotel room has carpet in room & have to wear shoes or your feet/socks are gross, they had issues with water being brown in shower but didn’t tell anyone - it was resolved after a day, but couldn’t shower in brown water. Beds are supposed to be queen but are smaller and prob closer to a full. Parking is limited in designated lot & not enough room for cars staying at hotel.

When you book with Hilton, it does not include the daily resort fee or taxes which is high.

Most employees are helpful & hotel restaurant is good. Beach access is good & pool looks clean.

Why no upgrade???? We had a one night stay to attend an art festival. It started off poorly at the front desk as they were not able to find us an upgrade as we were hoping since we're Diamond members. The woman at the front desk seemed indifferent, didn't great us as Diamond Members and said they were "completely booked" when I inquired about an upgrade. I knew she was lying to me because when I went on my Hilton Honors phone app I could see there were multiple partial view rooms available. I went back on my app a few hours later and there were still multiple partial view room available for booking. And later that night and in the morning there were a lot of parking spots available which tells me they were not "booked". The room we got was on the first floor in the back away from the beach with a not so beautiful view of the cars in the parking lot.

As diamond members we had 2 - $10 food and beverage credits so we decided to have breakfast at the onsite restaurant Coconuts. The staff was not very attentive and the breakfast was more on the poor side. The canadian bacon was overcooked and tough and the eggs were tough too and I'm not sure what they did to the potatoes.

The hotel is on the beach so it was nice to sit in the sand and watch the sunset. However, the location is far from any of the popular bars and nightspots so you would have to drive. There is another resort next door that has live music but that is about it. The grounds and the room were clean but nothing to write home about. We definitely won't be back.

We apologize that you did not enjoy your experience at our property. Upgrades are only provided when available for the entire length of the reservation you booked. We do like to treat our Diamond members well for their loyalty to the brand and sorry you do not feel that we achieved this. The Hilton Garden inn is also not a brand required to offer complimentary upgrades to Diamond members, but we still do our best to offer when available.

Super well located Hilton Garden in Hotel on St. Pete Beach. We were here once in early January 2023 and were thrilled. Unfortunately, the friendliness towards the guests has decreased. You enter or leave the hotel and the staff at the reception prefer to look at the screens rather than greet or say goodbye to the guest. It's just a quick hello or goodbye, but that makes the difference. Unfortunately, as a Diamond Member, my welcome gift was only given to me upon request, not to mention an upgrade. Here you wonder why people stay loyal to the hotel chain. Our room 116 was also always cleaned very late, usually after 4 p.m. Once it was even forgotten and we were allowed to complain at the reception. The bar in the hotel and on the beach are great and the staff are super friendly. The parking lot at the hotel is free. If it's as friendly as it used to be, then there will be 5 stars again

I stay 150+ nights per year at Hilton properties from Hamptons to LXR and this has been one of the best stays in the past few years. Hotel has a unique setup, direct to the beach but with a hammock and volleyball area, beach bar with great layout, then a decent sized pool with a green space. Beach is clean and wide, sunsets fantastic, and your stay includes beach cabanas or umbrellas and chairs.
Food at the onsite restaurant and down at the beach bar was good and reasonable for its location and being directly in the hotel. As someone else commented, the DJ at Coconut Charlie's kept a great atmosphere through the day and at night, they have some decent talent playing live.
What really sets the hotel apart though is the fantastic staff. Front desk, housekeeping, pool attendant, and the beach bar staff are very friendly and have great advice for things to do in the area. Cassandra put together a birthday card and cake for my daughter, which was much appreciated. Alex and Tori at the front desk were very helpful. Our kids loved the place and we will definitely be back!

This hotel appears to have been recently renovated and is really lovely. The outside beach and grill area is gorgeous and is set off and away from the other less family friendly resorts on this strip of beach. The rooms are nice, but you can already see the wear and tear from these rooms not being maintained.

Which brings me to the biggest issue at this hotel - the staff. Everyone is so checked out and doesn’t care at all about the customer experience. First, the room wasn’t that clean. There were sticky rings on the counters and stains on the furniture.

The bar and grill staff is absolutely atrocious. It’s standard practice to bring water at a restaurant or even ask if you want water. Not here. You have to go to a “hydration station” on the side of the bar.
Also, when you order a beer they plop the unopened can on the table with no cup and so you have to ask for a cup, orange, etc before they rush to leave because nobody here actually asks you if you need anything else. In addition to that, our server on TWO separate occasions cleared plates off the table that we were still eating without saying a thing. We had been there for 30 minutes or less. The point is that everything revolves around getting you to leave immediately. It’s not a good experience and the staff is just awful.
