We stayed at the Birchwood last week for the first time. It is a very comfortable hotel and the staff is very friendly and service was excellent from the front desk (Nick and Brandon), bar (Tommy), and housekeeping (Noelle). Beds are very comfortable! A nice surprise is that they offer a continental breakfast every morning. It is within walking distance...

Management response:

Hi, Kathy! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at The Birchwood! We apologize for those little snafus. You are absolutely right about the towels, kleenex, and bathroom tissue. We will make sure that our staff has this taken care of during housekeeping time. Thank you for the excellent feedback! Hope to see you again soon!

I'm a local who frequents downtown st Petersburg. One if our favs was the Birchwood. We had a very disappointing experience. We where seated asap because no one was there. One other couple was dining, normally packed. We had great service. That was the highlight. We ordered the charcuterie. It was a very plain and basic plate with some salami,...

Management response:

Hi Joseph, we apologize for not delivering the experience you are accustomed to or one that even met our own standards at Birch and Vine. We are currently in the middle of a transition with a new chef and many things are changing in the restaurant. We do hope you will return once our new menu launches and everything has...

This upscale Boutique Hotel is tucked across the street from the Bay. It has exquisite Sunsets that delight. The rooms though somewhat modest in size felt Luxurious. Their Attention to Classy Details feels delightful: a very striking wood poster bed, terry cloth bathrobes and a choice of an old fashioned tub - or a modern glass shower. Good for small...

The resturnant had great food, service and appearance. Lost a star because I had a reservation and the hostess said the wait for inside would be an hour & 1/2 OR I could sit right away outiside. When I said I'll wait for inside a table magical opened up.

Thank Jim L
Management response:

Hi Jim, so glad you had a wonderful meal with us. Sorry to hear about that little snafu with your reservation. We do hope you come back soon so we can give you the 5-star experience you deserve!

I was fortunate enough to stay at The Birchwood for 4 nights while traveling for business. While I had gone to The Canopy (rooftop bar) many times, I didn't even realize that there was a hidden gem inside of The Birchwood. The rooms have a distinct boutique feel. If that isn't your thing, then this may not be the place...

Our book club selected the Birchwood for their menu that included vegetarian entries. A new chef has been hired, a new menu instituted and there was nothing but an $8 bowl of soup that our vegetarian book club member could eat. Another member ordered a salad with blackened chicken. When served, she noticed the chicken was not blackend, and had...

Took the ferry from Tampa and enjoyed the rooftop for great views of the city. Also had dinner downstairs and they had excellent food. The waiters were very nice, too. I will definitely be back soon!!!

Stayed for two days, and will be back. Hotel is quaint, very clean and the staff makes you feel right at home. Tim the Manager is a real pro. Courteous, professional and a true asset to the Birchwood. Also, Tim the bartender will take care of you, he's got skills! I'm a New Yorker living in San Diego, but travel...

I have been to the hotel and restaurant several times and it is always excellent. The food is sophisticated but pretentious. The hotel is elegant but not over the top. This is a favorite of mine! It has a great a location with lots happening on the street.

Went here tonight for the view and what an awful mistake. Spent 30.00 for two sub par glasses of wine to enjoy the view and ran into a few people who were the most rude and obnoxious people ever. We met an extremely nice professional couple that invited us to sit with them and thereupon were told by someone behind...
