Can not recommend this place highly enough. Brian & Stephanie are wonderful hosts, & they & their staff are friendly, charming & helpful with any questions you may have about pretty much anything! As a solo female non-driving visitor, location of where I stay is important & The Inn On Third is ideal for pretty much everything I wanted to see & do. My room was clean & comfortable & the owners' attitude towards unnecessary waste is welcome without being 'preachy' - I don't change my towels at home after every shower, so why would I do so in a hotel or B&B?! The continental breakfast is varied & I really enjoyed the muesli. The 'happy hour' is such a good idea, & the fee for a refill is ridiculously inexpensive! I had lovely chats with some of the other guests & on both my nights ended up going to dinner with people also staying here, which was lovely. As & when I come back to this beautiful, friendly, welcoming city I would choose this establishment for sure. Thank you, everyone here, for making my visit so enjoyable & such fun.

Lovely inn in great location with good free parking.
Close to shops, bars and harbour.
Good base for visiting surrounding areas such as Tampa or Clearwater.
Really clean rooms and good breakfast.
Brian, the co owner was always on hand and made us feel immediately welcome.
Would love to visit again!

Stayed for one week. Have never stayed at a place like this before. More like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. Great location with restaurants, shopping, parks, movie theaters, the pier, groceries, etc. within a 10 minute walk. When it's too hot, you can take the free bus or trolley within a few minutes walk. The female owner was so friendly and approachable. The night male manager was friendly too. Breakfast in the morning is basic, but a great way to get sustenance to start the day with coffee, juice, 2 fruits, cereals, breads, boiled eggs and bite size muffins. The nightly social offers one free beer or wine and only $2 each for extra. Both were never busy, only with 4 or less people. Also $1 bottled water and canned sodas. The rooms are like staying in someone's home. They are small, and there is wear and tear, but they are clean and comfortably appointed with a dresser, a mini fridge, desk and chair, another chair, two bedside tables, three lamps, a ceiling fan, a tiny closet, and even tinier TV, a very cold AC unit, and a private bathroom with the shower tub combination. Also, no carpet and a clean and comfortable, yet small, bed. We never had a problem finding a parking space, but one night there was only one space left and fortunately we got it. What we really liked in comparison to most hotels, is that we were made to feel welcomed and appreciated and did not have to worry about other guests being loud and disrespectful. We also felt very safe for not only ourselves but our vehicle. There was also a phone and an alarm clock. We asked for a room on the top floor, which is the second floor, and we received it. A community microwave is in the hallway as well. The lobby can seat probably around 10 people but we never saw more than four or five at one time. Overall, it was a great stress-free environment to not only sleep but to escape from the sweltering heat. We can see why it is top rated. Would definitely recommend.

This was a wonderful find! We were doing a last minute road trip and looking for convenient location to the Dali Museum, Chihuly Museum and other places in the St. Pete area. Parking included in our stay, very comfortable room, owners very friendly, continental breakfast was just what we needed without all the fancy stuff. Nice area in lobby to visit with other travelers. A "Happy Hour" was a nice touch late in the day. Cute place, highly recommend! We'll be back!

We opted to stay at this small Inn in downtown St. Petersburg after our first choice was unavailable. The price was considerably less (more cash left over for fun!) and we were pleasantly surprised to find a comfortable bedroom and bathroom that smelled so fresh and clean. Brian at the desk informed us that wine and beer would be complimentary at 5 o'clock and breakfast (many choices) available each morning. Music to our ears.

We truly appreciated the thick walls and never heard the other guests. The highly mounted air conditioner helped, I am sure, but it kept the room nice and cool as well during the summer heat.

To our surprise, we found we were just minutes(!) from the waterfront and the new Pier.Chihuly Museum was minutes away the other way. A dazzling array of restaurants and music venues were nearby as well.

We look forward to staying here agin! A special thank you to Stephanie for brewing my decaf coffee.

This is a great option at this price point. The value is excellent compared to other hotels in the area and no fees and free parking mean you pay the rate you see. Also included is a nice continental breakfast with plenty of cereals, breads, yogurt, fruit and hard boiled eggs. There was enough variety for the three nights we were there. They also offer an evening social hour with a complimentary beer or glass of wine. Additional wine or beer are only $2 each.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The owners were there most of the time and are friendly and helpful and really seem to enjoy their job.

On the downside, the rooms are very small with limited storage and a small bathroom. Our room had a good size closet. Don’t expect spacious rooms, but the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The furniture shows some wear, but everything was clean. Just what you should expect from this style inn at this price point.

The location is excellent. Right in the center of downtown, an easy walk to the waterfront parks, pier, stadium and dozens of restaurants and bars. We did not move our car once during our stay.

Even though I give this Inn 5 stars, don’t expect a 5 star luxury resort. It’s quaint inn with small rooms and a great value. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

We live in the Orlando area so we often do a two-night 'escape' to the beaches on the west coast or east coast of Florida. But this time we wanted to visit a couple of the museums that showcase artists the work with glass. So I looked for a hotel that was centrally located within walking distance of the museums and restaurants, offered parking, and had high ratings from those who have stayed there. I was very surprised to find all three along with very reasonable rates (and breakfast!) at the Inn on Third. The continental breakfast had a lot of selections: toast and bagels, cold cereal, oatmeal, yogurts, fresh fruit, and very good coffee. As a bonus, the innkeepers were very pleasant, knowledgeable (Brian speaks German and Spanish along with his native English), and went out of their way to ensure that we had a great visit. As others have noted, the room was small and the bathroom even smaller that what many have become used to. But there was enough room to move around the bed with ease and the water in the shower was hot almost immediately. All in all, we had a very pleasant stay and will certainly return.

Amongst the hustle & bustle of Downtown St. Petersburg, you will find the Inn on Third.
What a great quaint small air bnb. Not only is it convenient walking distance to nearly everything , it is quaint & friendly. The owners Stephanie & Brian ( and inn keeper Ed) make sure all you needs are met. In addition, they have a small breakfasts available & social afternoon gatherings at no additional costs. The price per night is better than anywhere else Downtown St. Petersburg & the parking is secure & free. We will only stay here when we return to visit the area.

We have been staying here for the last 6 or 7 years and it is consistently a wonderful experience. I appreciate unique properties that have their own charm and personality, and the 1920s era building fits the bill. The rooms are always squeaky clean, the hosts, Brian and Stephanie, are welcoming and friendly, and the complimentary continental breakfast includes hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt and more. Fantastic location, close to downtown and the Old Northeast neighborhood. Free parking. We look forward to our visit every year.

This inn was a great find! It's situated just outside the downtown area, making it easy to escape the city noise while still within easy walking distance of everything. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and we especially appreciated the friendly and helpful staff. The continental breakfast offered a good selection of bagels, fruit, and coffee. We would stay here again.

Are the curtains such that you can make the room dark at night?
Answer from Doc P
Great question. The curtains are layered and sheer, so if you need the room to be completely blacked out, I would recommend a face mask to help you sleep. In saying that, the rooms are pretty dark at night unless some of your sleeping will occur during daylight hours. I hope this answers your question?

Do you offer roll away beds.
Answer from TheInnOnThird
St. Petersburg, Florida28 contributions7 helpful votes
Yes, we do. They are smaller than a twin size bed though, and by far not as comfortable as a real bed, so we typically only use them for kids and teens. Plus, space will get really tight in our rooms when adding a rollaway cot. The extra cost per night ranges from $10 - $20 + tax depending on travel dates, and you must call us directly to book in order to be able to add the rollaway to your booking. It is not an option when booking through any online travel sites. Stephanie Cox THE INN ON THIRD

Is there parking there and do you have early checkin?
Answer from TheInnOnThird
St. Petersburg, Florida28 contributions7 helpful votes
Hi! Yes, we do have free parking and early check-in depends on that days availability and housekeeping status. We recommend to call us the day prior to your arrival. At that point we would be able to tell you what time your room can be expected to be ready. Even if your room is not available early, you may still come by before then to take care of check-in procedures, park your car and start enjoying your day in town.
