Beautiful place to stay! Has a microwave and fridge. A huge closet. Our room was near the Koi pond, which was absolutely beautiful! Staff was very helpful. The room is up to date so it felt very comfortable.

That lovely Caribbean blue water you are looking for does NOT exist anymore on Sanibel Island. Warning to all travelers. Due to the federal government releasing overflow from Lake Okeechobee into the Caloosahatchee River (which runs directly into the Gulf separating Sanibel and Captiva) the water is a dull muddy brown (is it safe?). This was quite disheartening to us... More

A small room but everything was quiet & in good condition. They changed the room to the1st floor cuz hotels.com didn't give em my "special request" beforehand. We liked the screened patio & EZ access to the pool & beach. For expensive Sanibel, twas a decent deal.

Tenth year going to this magical place where you can be alone to rest and rejuvenate or go mingle and meet people from all over the US and the world. Beach, food, pool, and delightfully not a high rise

This was my second visit to West Wind. The location is perfect..a short distance by bike from the hustle and bustle of Periwinkle Dr. Walk right out to beach. Bikes can be rented on sight....bikes are the best way to get around island. Room was furnished with all our needs, it was clean with comfy beds and nice screened balcony.... More

The Inn was very clean, the food was good, the pool was large, only complaint was from my family who said the mattress' and pillows were tired and poor. That was not my personal experience. I do not wish to make this any longer!!!!1 That is ridiculous!!

There was mold growing in the room they put me in, the bed was very uncomfortable and the a/c was very loud when it kicked in, enough to keep you awake. The maintenance man that came when I called because there was water all over the floor from the a/c was very nice but the lady on the front desk... More

It was rated one of the better hotels on the island. It was not as it appeared on line. They must have had a great photographer. He made it look a lot better than it was in person. The property could be very nice with a total make over.

A very relaxing beach location. The pool with bar service is excellent with a fantastic view of the Gulf. The rooms are very comfortable with small kitchen area and screened porch area. The food in the resturant is very good. We hope to return next year.
