The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff were friendly. Breakfast buffet is $17. It's literally right next to the airport. I would stay there again. Nice lobby area and pool. Not to far from the beaches and some of the local attractions
This hotel is positively dreadful! The property looks neglected and the interior smells of smoke in many locations. Add in some inept service personnel and the outcome, well, is poor. Below the standards of holiday inn overall, Not recommended.
With an early AM flight I booked a night at this hotel for convenience. The hotel is very clean, the room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. Most importantly, the staff from checking in, restaurant / bar, checkout & transport to the airport was exceptional.
“Soundproof room” is a joke. Our tv didn’t work and the staff couldn’t fix it so we were moved to the only remaining room next to the storage room/ service elevator . We were awakened at 730 by a loud humming buzzing noise like a helicopter. you’d think an end room would be quiet but, no. there was a huge junk pike with heavy equipment outside. Still don’t know what the noise is. It’s 9 am and still going. The only reason I haven’t left yet is that I brought earplugs. The food was ok but again the restaurant was so noisy with multiple loud tvs on various channels we ate quickly and left. No option for a quiet meal after a hard day of being stranded at the airport.. The coffee in the room was horrible. . There was no way to darken the room. Only flimsy semi transparent curtains. The bed and pillows were great and the place was clean the staff polite but all in all not a place I’d recommended if your sensitive to noise. The rooms should come equipped with earplugs and eye masks , but that wouldn’t look to good.…
When we checked in, we were greeted with a friendly smile. The staff were always friendly. Every time we walked through the lobby, the receptionist smiled and wished us a good day. The hotel was attractive. The room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom had been cleaned so well that the porcelain actually shone. The shower was just big enough for two, if they were friendly. The room had a clock, television, coffee maker, refrigerator, and a hair dryer, but no microwave. Instead of the usual pictures on the walls, the room had displays of fake flowers. This was an interesting touch. Since we were visiting the Ren Fest while in Sarasota, we were out all day. We wanted the room for just the evening, and it was quite satisfactory for that. Photos of parts of the room, and some of the Ren Fest activities are included. Of course, nothing is perfect. The problems are listed in order of severity, highest to lowest. 1. The soap rack in the shower did not have a lip, so the soap and shampoo bottle kept falling off and threatening our toes. A photo is attached. Holiday Inn must either replace the soap racks, or provide soap and shampoo bottles that are too large to go through the gap. 2. There was no spare toilet roll. The rolls were partly used when we checked in. When these ran out during the night, we had to switch to tissues. 3. Breakfast was an additional cost, so there was no free coffee in the lobby. We had two coffee pods with the coffee maker: one regular and one decaff. These were insufficient. It was as well we brought our own tea bags. We made tea and used the supplied creamer. By the last day, the housekeeper decided we did not need the creamer, and did not leave any. 4. While the bathroom was clean, the hand basin had cracks in the enamel. It did not seem to leak. We had one bar of soap that was minuscule. We had to use this for both the basin and the shower. Some of these problems were more annoying than others. In particular something needs to be done about the soap rack, and the housekeepers need to be told to leave enough toilet paper. Yet overall we were pleased with our stay. Had those two problems not occurred, we would have rated the hotel as five stars. As it is we can only rate it four stars. We would certainly consider staying at the Holiday Inn Sarasota Airport again if we go back to Sarasota, but we would bring a spare roll of toilet paper.…
So we just came back from this hotel last night. At first the hotel looks ugly from the outside, it seats right behind the airport on what it looks like an abandon parking lot, but it is some what nice in the inside. That guy that checked us in was pleasant and it was quick and easy. As per the room, it’s decent. I did find some hairs in the shower, the bathroom door was damage in the bottom, rust in the sink, the beds were squeaky and worn out. The ac was great though. Its good for a one night stay…def not a place I would stay for days.
Great location for travelers using the airport. A non congested area. Plenty of parking spaces. Good property large warm water pool with hot tub. The downside is breakfast not included. The only negative is seeing a person come off the elevator with a big hairy dog. I love dogs but only the best hotels prohibit animals.
I’ve never slept on a harder or more uncomfortable bed in all of my 49 years. The couch in the room is disgustingly filthy with stains from who knows what. None of the staff have been friendly or even approachable. This is not what I’ve come to expect from an IHG hotel.
The room was very clean, it had the basics that every hotel does of course but the scenery and people were the best part. Candy at the front was amazing! We had a few issues checking in and she was quick to help us fix it. She has a good taste in sunglasses as well.
We checked in early, and were immediately accommodated. Every staff member we met was was friendly and eager to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Room was clean and comfortable. Pool, spa, outdoor patio were clean and enjoyable. Fitness room looked well-provisioned. Breakfast ws fantastic and staff was friendly and helpful as well.
