The Good: Excellent staff. Friendly and competent. Location is safe and within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. Hotel restaurant is superb. Pool and hot tub are good. Pool bar was convenient. The Not So Good: Bathroom lighting was dark. AC controls complex…room was always cold. Hardwood floor was dirty.

Elite Marriott member who spends 100+ nights a year as a business and leisure traveler. The property and staff were all top notch. 5/5 recommend. The staff and pools really sets this property apart! I specifically want to mention GM Chelsea Kolenda and Director of Rooms Marrissa Selby. Both were exceptionally accommodating and responsive. Thank you! We visited during a late August weekend. Checkin was a breeze, and staff happily brought us more toiletries, extra towels, etc. Clean, spacious suite with pool views. Excellent location in close proximity to food and drink. We will see you again!

the place looks nice in the pictures, it’s not. carpet is gross and old. inside it literally looks like a really old holiday inn was slapped with a new name. the pool is in the courtyard of the building enclosed by 4 tall walls so it is hotter than hades when laying out because no breeze. and the customer service is terrible. i’m a bonvoy member and it didn’t matter at all to them. do yourself a favor and stay at another hotel. marriott, do better.

My husband stayed here and had a serious unexpected medical emergency in his room. I was on the phone trying to tell him how to get safely to the front desk to call for help (he couldn’t figure out where he was for me to call) and Marina was calm, called the ambulance twice, treated him well and was patient with him. She sent me updates as I was 1,000 miles away terrified. She didn’t judge or write him off as others did that night, as he was very confused, she just helped him and checked on him after. The GM also checked on him the next day with me which was very thoughtful

This hotel offers nothing extra or fancy. If the only idea is to get some sleep after a long day, this is a good choice. Small rooms are clean, modern and minimalistic. Room comfort is still good since everything just works. Well designed to meet today's needs. This worked for us better than many 5* hotels before. I would stay here again.

Sarasota is a quick 2 1/2 l drive from Orlando. Traveled just as AM rush hour was ending. Beware speed traps near Lakeland and on I-275. Would highly recommend staying at The Carlisle Inn right near Yoder's, and it's own Der Dutchman, offering great food in Amish style. Nearby beaches (10 minutes} include Lido, Siesta Key, and Longboat Key. These are rarely crowded in my experience with family type settings, bath houses, Lifeguard stations, and ample parking. Watch construction in downtown area heading to the beaches. St. Armand's Circle has every kind of foo foo store you can imagine with artsy fartsy stuff and galleries. Restaurants include the famous Columbia Cuban restaurant and others. Ringling Museum is worth the visit and associated Art Musem is a 5 hour minimum. I wouldn't mind having a small weekend home in Sarasota.

We booked this hotel through the Marriott BonVoy programme. We arrived at the hotel and unloaded our car with the help of the parking valet without problem. Our issues started when we tried to check in, where we encountered the most unhelpful member of staff with the most appalling attitude imaginable for someone in that position. We were told that they could not find our reservation, and therefore there was no reservation for us and they could do nothing more. This despite having a confirmation and a reservation reference/number. We showed this to the person on the desk, but they simply took an attitude of "computer says no". We asked who, in that case, had sent the several e-mails confirming our reservation, asking us if we wanted to upgrade and also offering advance check-in, to which the answer was "I don't know". We were then promptly ignored with no effort to help us sort out this dilemma despite please to look into it further. And then I thought, I have an e-mail offering online check-in, what happens if I do that? So I stood in front of the desk, run through the online process on my 'phone and voila, we were checked in! I showed this unhelpful person that we were now checked in and they begrudgingly looked at their system and said, "oh there it is" and gave us our keys, with the comment "we had this problem yesterday" I mean, seriously? If you knew about the issue why not try and help out? Could that not have been mentioned before? The icing on the cake was there was no hint of apology or any acceptance of fault or error. I should say we only saw this person on the desk the afternoon we checked in, at other times there were perfectly helpful and courteous ladies in attendance. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable and the rest of the staff courteous and helpful. It was just the attitude of this one person that was enough to sour our stay and, as it is first impressions that count, is the reason I can only give a rating of 2.

The hotel property was beautiful but the customer service is below our standards for the Marriott we were not greeted as the standard we are accustomed too. The room was very nice great bed n balcony. The cleanliness at the restaurant was bad. Tables were not cleaned off at breakfast and we even had to ask for a cloth to clean the table. The bartender the night before was great but was totally alone to serve all the drinks n dinner. I would have expected better for a tribute hotel

Was a nice hotel, and had very clean rooms but after listening to the manager or supervisor of the sort yell at the cleaning employees in hostile manner, it kind of ruined my stay. Not something you would expect at a higher end hotel.
