The location was perfect for our stay, the room was spacious and bed was very comfortable. We did not make it to the pool, but young families were enjoying it. The morning breakfast was very good and the service was outstanding. Plenty of options for dinner nearby

This hotel was marginally acceptable. First impression is it was well kept and clean. The room was spacious (I had a King suite) and there were plenty of places to plug in various devices (if you read my other reviews, this is something I am picky about). In the bathroom, it was quite nice. The shower provided excellent water pressure and was quite enjoyable. Unfortunately, this stay did come with a few things that didn’t go right. The first thing was the TV in my room was basically unusable for watching TV. The picture was very grainy and some of the channels that I was supposed to get, I didn’t get. Fortunately, I was able to connect my iPad to the TV and watch things that way. The free WiFi internet connection supported streaming video with no issues. The second thing is perhaps the largest grievance with my trip. The morning after I checked in, I asked the front desk associate if they do daily housekeeping. She assured me they do. Well later that night I went back to my room and it hadn’t even been touched. That is absolutely unacceptable. If you don’t do daily housekeeping, that’s fine. A lot of hotels (especially at this price point) don’t. However, set appropriate expectations for the guest. That really irritated me. The third thing might not be the fault of the hotel but I thought I would mention it. I believe there is something in or around the property that caused interference with the wireless Apple CarPlay in my car. It functioned fine all over Sarasota and only when I got close to the hotel building, would it disconnect. Again, this might be out of the control of the management but I thought it is something prospective guests should know. All things considered, I would say this hotel provided basic safe and clean lodging but if you are someone that appreciates daily housekeeping and likes watching TV, perhaps you should look elsewhere.

This hotel serves a nice breakfast and is very clean. The staff was great, I was apprehensive because another reviewer said it seems like they are rude/live at the hotel and that was definitely not the case. Hotel has 2 slow elevators, one was out of service, so it was a 5min wait to go to any floor. The pool is next to the parking lot. Also seems like IHG only partially renovated the hotel. They replaced carpeting and countertops, and kept 80s light switches, drop ceilings and popcorn walls. In the one bedroom suite, the new modern TV console/desk/side tables were next to repainted decrepit cabinetry that housed the refrigerator/microwave. Rooms are clean with good staff/location, so would stay here again.

My husband is in a wheelchair and I booked a wheelchair accessible room. When we arrived in the room (#128 indicating a wheelchair and hearing impaired room right on the room number sign), it had a bathtub, the shower was stationery (not hand held) and there was no shower chair. When I requested a bath chair they said they didn't have one and that the room was for the hearing impaired and that's what I requested. I definitely did not! The bathroom tiles were so dirty that anything we dropped on the floor was filthy. So for the 3 nights there, my husband could not take a shower! We would have checked out but the hotel was located where we needed to be for 2 days. The front office staff (which was often absent) was dismissive and totally clueless. Our message light on the phone was constantly blinking and when I asked how to stop it, the front desk person told me the phone "must be broken." The breakfast was a good variety of choices, so that's the only good thing I can say about it and the reason I gave it 2 stars. Do not stay here if you can help it.

We arrived on the evening of our pre-paid reservation to find that the hotel had no vacant rooms. I later learned that I had booked through a third party, though this was not known to me at the time. I always try to book directly with a hotel and thought I had. I received a confirmation text the afternoon of check-in that said they were looking forward to our visit. What was really disappointing at check-in was not just that there was no room. The hotel clerk was not helpful and appears to have been poorly trained. He was not able to produce a list of alternative lodging options, was not wearing a name tag, refused to call his manager when asked and claimed that he tried to notify our other family members who had also booked a room and were turned away; however, they had no record of a text, call or email. The clerk indicated that he could not contact me ahead of time because I had booked through a third party. If true, this is very poor communication between the booking party and the hotel. I later learned this clerk's name is Ricky. Why would the hotel choose to use this third party for taking reservations and payment? Fortunately, we were able to find alternative lodging on our own. I am still waiting to get a refund on my fully paid two night stay at Holiday Inn Express & Suites that hopefully will arrive from the third party. The only positive out of this experience is that I returned 2 days later in the morning and spoke with Lourdes at the front desk who was very helpful, She was wearing a name tag and provided proof of notice sent to the third party that there were no rooms available. Apparently there have been other persons who have also experienced issues with third party booking companies. The system has broken elements and I recommend should be revisited by the Holiday Inn Express corporate HQ.

This hotel was horrible from the beginning. Out of 2 elevators 1 was out of service & the other was so ghetto that the numbers were worn down on the buttons but rather than replacing them they just wrote over them with a sharpie. That should have prepared s for everything else right away. Upon entering our room we were greeted with sign saying maid service was only for 5+ day stays which I thought was a little weird. Upon entering the bathroom we discovered rust stains completely covering the shower, a toilet that didn't flush, and only 1 shower towel. When we asked for more shower towels, we waited 15 minutes and were finally given 3 floor towels. We were only able to get the toilet to flush by lifting the back of the tank and pulling the cord, but after a few attempts that stopped working so we had to practically beg for a new room. Upon finally agreeing to give us one, we began to pack up our stuff and that's when we saw 2 roaches crawling out from under our bags. We were disgusted but it was late so we proceeded to the new room, and turned the light on to see a few more roaches scurrying. That's when we decided to leave, and the woman at the front desk was extremely rude, condescending and completely useless. We stay at Holiday Inn Expresses a lot but this one is a complete dump and not up to their normal standards. Avoid at all costs!

We checked into the hotel just a few nights ago late at night. When I called the front desk to let them know that we were on our way. The guy answered the phone so rudely. Then once we showed up to check in the guy asked for my ID and that's a rude manner he almost sounded sort of sarcastic. The guy's uniform look very dirty not professional like whatsoever. Once we went up to the room we noticed there were a few maintenance and cleanliness issues. Such as hair in the sheets of the sofa bed plus the sheets for the bed didn't even fit the bed. Plus the carpeted edging was coming off the walls. As well as blood-stained sheets.
Before we went to bed I went back downstairs and I asked the same front desk agent who checked us in for a few extra pillows. His response was, "We ain't got no more pillows" with no apology for the inconvenience.
The next morning and we took a shower we only had hot water for about 1 minute and then it was cold water. Had a wonderful shower pressure what temperature was terrible. The lobby smelt kind of musty late at night. I know this hotel was just renovated a couple of years ago but it almost seems as if it's not been well taken care of since then.
The staff and cleanliness of the hotel and maintenance of the hotel used to be really good. We have stayed here many of times over the years and had a wonderful customer service and hospitality. But unfortunately that seems to have disappeared with this property.
Now the young lady who was working to breakfast and the front desk in the morning were very friendly. But we'll be honest they were not dressed professionally weren't even wearing a uniform.

There is so much wrong with the hotel it is hard to write anything good. So the good would be that the beds are comfortable, the shower (when it worked) had decent pressure and the front entrance is nice with ample parking.
Now the AWFUL. Only one elevator works. They do not clean the rooms well at all. Lots of dirt stains on the tile and carpet in the rooms is swept and not vacuumed (witnessed every time they cleaned my room and others in the same hall) They only give you two towels and you have to ask for more at the front desk even if your party is more than two. The bath/shower is all rusted and on our last day the water was out for hours before we checked out - We called down at 9:15am and said that it was not working and were told it would be fixed in a few minutes. Then we got a note under the door that said it would be fixed in an hour (this was an hour after I called down) Then when we left at around 2:00 it still was not on. . The head person of the service staff SCREAMS at her staff and they get in huge arguments to the point the staff is crying. You get to hear it all from the comfort of your room. The cleaning service plays their phones (music, videos, conversations) all loudly in the hallways while they clean. Very very noisy. The staff I think all live in the hotel. You would see them during the day working and at night smoking and drinking in the parking lot with casual cloths on. They seemed to be living in the hotel they work in . Like isn't there a policy that you can not live in the hotel you work in? TVs often did not work. The breakfast is ok, however not as good as I have had at other Holiday Inns. There is a crazy older lady that works the breakfast area (very very high strung to the point she makes you nervous) - I watched her stuff a ton of coffee cups with lids into these older peoples bags and they would slip her some cash. Not sure what that is about. Lots of dust build up in the air vents. So much that you can see the dust snakes in the slats

The receptionist at the check in desk was very helpful. The hotel offered a nice breakfast and coffee. Our suite was large, comfortable and clean. The only drawback was one of the elevators was broken. Also, our room was near the elevator and the elevator dinged at every floor which we could hear in our room. Very annoying. Ask for a room away from the elevator. Great location and nice pool. Lots of places to eat nearby.

Worst Holiday Inn Express I ever stayed in. I chose this hotel because of the location ( near friends and family) and the fact that Holiday Inn express normally gives a reliable service. I was wrong. This hotel is dingy and dated. Inconsistent front desk, feels like this place is short staffed. The elevator was slow and had broken buttons, and got tired of looking at the dirty patrtially rolled up mat inside. No Breakfast service, except a package of a muffin water and chewy bar. After one night I knew this hotel was a mistake for me. The bathroom was hideous, various water stains and hair left around the tub. The handle got stuck while on, and almost spilled over the tub before I could finally leverage the tub off. Paper thin walls, you can hear and feel doors slamming at all times, and kids running up and down the halls. They do not clean rooms during your stay, so in order to get more towels you have bring your dirty towels down to front desk first. The pool looks worn, had no interest in using. The gym is the size of a closet and limited to one person at a time. An overall very unsatisfactory stay.
