I almost don't want to share our little secret place. We found this little gem by chance and have been coming here for two years. The Inn Keeper Patricia (we share the same name) is delightful. The rooms were always fresh & clean. Any little need was met quickly and with a smile. I can't wait to pack a bag and run away again from the East coast to the West coast & stay at the Lido Islander. You can walk to everything ! The beach, the restaurants. Our car stayed parked the entire weekend. You're going to love it. We DO !!

Poor fitting entry door allowed
too many bugs to enter.
I woke to find centipedes and
palmetto bugs in room. Yuck!
Management's response was not one of concern for me as the guest but they compared my experience to that of the previous guests.

Based on the description and a few pictures on the Expedia website I was expecting an upscale lodging in the resort area of Lido Beach. What I got was a sardine sized room in a pseudo B&B that needed a serious upgradte from the flophouse decor and almost non existent amenities. When we had to provide our own Kleenex, shampoo and bath soap I knew we were in trouble. And it actually got worse from there. The TV was SD, the fridge hummed all night, the walls were paper thin, and the only way to turn off the bedside lamp was to pull out the plug since the on/off switch was broken. And upon check out you were asked to clean out the fridge and wipe down the countertops. I seriously don't know what I was paying the $160/night got. At least the internet was decent and the location convenient. Can't say I'd recommend the place or stay there again.

This location is in extreme disrepair. From the moment you ;lay eyes on the broken screen at the front entry it is a huge disappointment. When you walk in the unit is bare bones and dark. One lamp in the corner lights the living space where the couch began immediately to cause myself and my daughter to have asthma and allergies. The refrigerator in the kitchen had rust on the front and mold in the door gasket. The range knob on the main burner did not align with the temperature. so it was on high when it was turned off. There were no amenities in the kitchen, no towels, soap or paper towels. There were 2 glasses in the kitchen and 2 forks. No bowls of any size. . When you go into the bathroom there is mold all throughout the glass block tile in the shower. The mold became progressively worse as the week went by.. The bunk beds were unfit for my daughter to sleep on. We had to move the mattress on the top bunk to the bottom to provide enough comfort for her to sleep. The trash and linens from the prior tenant were sitting on a chair on the back deck for a full day. I took them and placed them outside of the deck area. the trash was picked up, but the linens sat out there for the rest of our visit. The sheets and linens that were provided were cheap and just not what a person would expect of a place that is asking over $350 per night. Deck has trip hazards. terrible week and I was so looking forward to it.

This place was a bit of a nightmare. DO NOT stay in room 2a, on first floor. It must be the smallest one and walls are paper thin, we could hear every word of people beside us. We could not understand why the room stayed so cold, it was 64° when we entered.
Usually a room is just a place to sleep at night, but this one had so many issues, we made a list.
Positives, everything was clean and it was a very short walk to beach and under 10 minute walk to St Armands Circle
Negatives
Room 2A
Freezing, even with AC off was 68° to 71°, never higher
No ice machine, and not even trays in mini fridge, which was in the ac compressor closet w microwave
No coffeemaker
No plastic cups!
Bathing suit clothesline doesn't work
Only 1 hand towel, 1 washcloth (room booked for 2) and 2 towels!
Bikes for rent sign BUT have free bikes, no sign and found out later
No office, all by phone
Nowhere to hang clothes, does have tall skinny chest of drawers
No bedside table

Good News:

The Inn is close to the beach. Bed was clean. Thats it.

Bad News:

Dirty. Wiped over the floor with a towel and it was black. There was an old clothes line in the shower with black mold growing inside the holder. The bathroom door was dirty. If you're cleaning and disinfecting for covid wouldn't you wipe those down? The Inn is run down. All furnishings have seen better days. One chest in the bedroom had all the drawers broken. The entire stay was cold as in freezing cold and the temp is regulated remotely, we woke one morning to 64. The outdoor area for sitting is run down. It could be a lovely area with some elbow grease and tlc. Paid 1800 dollars in 2020 for this. Had to use it as credit was provided. Pictures on line are deceiving.
Had to ask for towels several times to get them. No use of washer or dryer until after 5. Potted plants outside the door of the room were so unkept and bedraggled. Just a sad little place.
Overall 1 star and that is because of the location.

Booked for 4th of July weekend, had an emergency, had to reschedule. Pat changed the date, and stated, since it was a different date, she would figure out the refund and credit it back. Visited July 30- August 3rd. No refund at all. Room was meh at best. Mattress was very worn. Called, text, no response. Over the weekend, had to keep texting Pat, because there was no parking available. Someone was smoking in the room next to us. I complained, Pat said housekeeper couldn’t smell anything. That was 5 hours later. The people staying in the room next to us were screaming loudly, fighting. Text Pat, she said she would take care of it. The fight continued for several hours.
We have been here several times. Always a good experience. This was a horrible stay. For the money we paid, could have stayed at much nicer properties. Pat doesn’t care about her customers. She just wants the money. People can go elsewhere these days for better service, we will be one of them.

Booked a weekend getaway with friends. Called Patricia to set up the rooms and book them and paid full price. Called back later that evening to adjust rooms and it ended up being a lower rate. I have yet to receive a refund from the rebooking of $300. Called, emailed, texted numerous times to get Patricia to realize the credit amount and she did not respond. I am still out $300 refund or credit. I have stayed her numerous times and recommended the place to countless friends, but no longer. Bad management and customer service in my opinion.

I hosted my son's birthday party here and Patricia could not have possibly been more helpful and accomodating. You can't beat the location and you can't beat the customer service. My family and I will be sure to stay here for many years to come. Thank you, Patricia!

If you are considering staying at the Lido Islander I strongly recommend that you DO NOT! Despite the charming rustic beach appearance the rooms and host are sub standard. The bathrooms are not maintained with clogged sinks and dripping showers. Sound proofing between adjoining rooms is nonexistent - even normal volume conversations from neighboring rooms will disrupt your sleep. All these defects are made worse by the host, Patrica as she is unresponsive to the condition of her accommodations. It is a shame because the Lido Island has so much potential but instead it just is a run down motel with management that stoped caring.
