Took a little bit to find this place as it is actually at the south end of Airport Cir off University Blvd. Since it is at the end it is kind of secluded which helps with the noise. Our room was on the northside of the building and except for some plane traffic noise it was pretty quiet. It is within walking distance of the airport and the Ringling Museum. Short drive from New College of Florida as well. Staff was very informative about the area and it isn't too far of a drive from Newtown and downtown. Prices were very reasonable for the area. Hotel is a little older but very clean. They are pet friendly and if you want your room cleaned you have to request it. Nice Continental breakfast with waffles being the hot part of the menu. There is a guest laundry that you pay for with your phone.

Ideally situated for the airport, my husband and I frequently stay at this hotel.
The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are clean, and are currently being renovated. The option of a pool is very nice too. My only criticism would be the breakfast choice. It's limited. There is a choice of cereal, yogurts, waffles, pastries and bagels. No bread for toast. I noticed porridge but no microwave to cook it in. There was only fresh fruit on 1 day, we stayed a week. There was no decaf coffee on offer either. It wouldn't put me off going back, but a savoury choice would be nice. As would decaf coffee. Ideal for business travellers.

Quiet location, quiet room, AC wall unit also very quiet. Carpet looked terrible, but not going to downgrade the hotel because one room's carpet was gross. Breakfast was awesome. I expected a continental breakfast but it had more.

This hotel was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the location was perfect for us. There were a few staff members who made our stay above and beyond what we expected. Parker was very helpful and took us in when our former hotel didn't meet our expectations. He recommended a few places and gave us the scoop on places he felt would be worth visiting. Rhonda was a local that we encountered daily and she was also helpful in giving directions. The Manager was exceptional in customer service. (and a former Buckeye) I will be back in a few weeks and this place will be my first choice.
If I had to leave any suggestion it would be that they get a few more washers for Customer use as we waited 2 hours to use one.

In the month of October in the year of our COVID 2020, I had a brief stay at this hotel. While convenient, it was not what I would consider a safe or comfortable stay for a few reasons. First, some staff didn't wear a mask even though they require guests to do so ("Rules for thee, but not for me!"). Second, the air conditioner in my room put out moldy smelling air and I have mold allergies. Third, the toilet continued running (tank leaked and refilled repeatedly). Fourth, the shower dripped and I attempted to correct that to no avail. Fifth and last, I wasn't convinced the room was well sanitized. Housekeeping came every other day and they seemed too quick about cleaning. Just skip it.

Stayed for a week on a business trip. Great Hotel! Clean and a great location. Staff was always friendly and the breakfasts have a nice mix of hot and cold items that change every day which is always nice.

The Sleep Inn at University Parkway near the Sarasota airport was absolutely disgusting. Upon entering the lobby there was a strong smell of marijuana. Once we entered our room it had a musty smell and upon further inspection we found bed bugs, their casings and blood spatter on the mattress. We immediately vacated and went to the desk to checkout. The front desk informed us that we would be charged for the night because we “checked in”. We contacted our credit card and are disputing the charge. Absolutely foul...please stay somewhere else!!

We anticipated staying 3 nights but due to the condition of the rooms and the hotel in general, we left after the first night. The first 3 rooms we were shown were totally unacceptable (unclean, ripped carpet, not vacuumed). The 4th room was barely acceptable but the new vinyl floor was filthy and appeared to never have been washed. The a/c didn't work, was reported to the hotel staff and we were told there was nothing they could do about it except suggesting we open the window. (we were on the first floor and in a questionable area) The side hotel entrance door did not lock so anyone could have entered the hotel. The bathroom fixtures had rust rings and the shower door did not fit the enclosure resulting in standing water on the bathroom floor. Over all the room and hotel was totally unacceptable and we were very disappointed and disgusted.

Should of looked at the reviews before I booked. I come here to Sarasota quite often, but first time here, but this will be my last.
Management needs to get their act together. No towels in room, air conditioning doesn’t properly work, breakfast was pitiful (though the raccoons who come nightly in the parking lot to eat out of the overflowing trash containers eat very well)and staff needs to be better equipped with supplies to help guests. They didn’t even have trash bags. Front entrance was roped off the entire time of stay like it was freshly painted. This is definitely checked off my list.

only positive of this hotel was the location. It is directly across from the Sarasota/bradenton airport. Room was in deplorable condition, lamps with no lampshades that we burned our hands on trying to turn on and off. upon arrival room was dirty with rotten chicken wings, cock roaches, and old nips of fireball whiskey. room as very small, and shower dangerous very slippery. Bed was hard as a rock. Roaches in bathroom on floor and by tv. very disappointed in this choice hotel. Will never go back. There are two other hotels on the same drive, I would suggest looking into them. People also had very loud noise barking dogs that were left unattended barking. They have a 40lb limit and we saw a full sized Great Dane being walked in the parking lot. housekeeping was non existent and the front desk said they only come if you stay 3 or more days. In addition the towels were like washcloth sized or hand towel terrible thin and rough.
