We stayed not knowing what to expect from the resort or the area. Caroline was MORE than helpful with sending me links for tourist things to do and places to go. Super helpful. The owner of the resort is a very nice and helpful person also. The cottage was fully equipped with a full kitchen, private hot tub, very clean... you may use their bikes, kayaks, gas grill, beach chairs and fishing poles!! Awesome place, can’t wait to visit again.

We came to turtle beach to spend a relaxing weekend with our daughter and that’s exactly what we had. The private hacuzzi let my wife and I have alone time while the baby slept without having to be far. The property does not have one inch of wasted space, it’s well landscapes and the proximity to the water makes you feel like you are in key west. Sit the pool on the water enjoy a cocktail with the non stop breeze! Customer service was great, they will bend over backwards to accommodate you. One of the coolest things I liked was free on site bagged ice, talk about an easy way to eliminate a pain in the rear when you are on a beach vacation. We will be going back, this time with a large group of friends!

I was looking for a vacation for my family, somewhere Covid safe that we could easily drive to. Turtle Beach Resort gave us this and so much more. We fished, went kayaking, saw manatees and dolphins from our cottage and went to the beach daily! The office staff was so helpful in navigating our week, where to eat, beach and visit.
Our cottage, was on the water, with a private dock, so much more special then pictured.
We got groceries delivered from Publix, got food to take out and ate on our private patio. We could get more towels and supplies from an open guest laundry room, which was nice when we wanted a drink in the hot tub at night and didn’t want to use our bathroom towels. Also, not that I wanted to, but we needed to do laundry and that was available to us free of charge.
It really was so relaxed and the perfect escape we all needed.
We will be back soon!

Thank you!

Tucked away within walking distnce to Turtle Beach this place is perfect for couples wanted to totally unplug. Each cottage is self contained with an efficiency-style kitchen, generous living/bedroom area and its own private lanai with hot tub. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Bikes, kayak, and fishing gear are available for free. The kitchen refrigerator doesn't have an ice maker or freezer - no problem as 10lb bags of ice are available for free! Perfect for cocktails or filing up the beach cooler. There are two casual bar/grills about 3 minute walk away and a more upscale restaurant a similar distance. If you want to cook there isn't an oven in the units but there is a communal gas grill available overlooking the water. The free shuttle bus stop is literally just out side which will take you up and back to Siesta Key beach and Village. We will definitively be back.

Everyone at the resort, from the moment we called to make a reservation, until the moment we walked to our car to leave, was amazing. We were only there for two nights but would have loved to stay longer. The weather did not cooperate but we thoroughly enjoyed the private hot tub just outside our door. We also loved the covered outdoor seating area where we could sit and listen to the water and stay out of the rain. We also loved being able to bring our little Olive, as we had a hard time finding any location that welcomed cats. The bed was one of the best we have ever slept in while away (Southwest room). Overall, I would highly recommend and would absolutely stay again.

We had a special time at Turtle Beach Resort and Inn for an immediate family only outdoor wedding at the restaurant next door. We came early to isolate (Covid times) and enjoy the resort. Everything was special and our family had many great times with the bikes, beach walks, kayaking and walking our dogs. We felt very safe—everyone masked—and carry out food was available when we didn’t want to cook. The cabanas are charming and we used the hot tub every day. The outdoor pool was heated and fine, even in Dec-January! So many people who worked there were incredibly helpful and helped us plan welcome baskets and other wedding treats before we arrived. For sure we will return to this fabulous place!

The goal of a review is to help educate others on what they should expect. That is my only goal. In looking at the other reviews I am almost wondering if my expectations might have been too high.
First of all the Resort is in an adorable spot on the bay. What I noticed off the bat is that there is a huge difference between the Resort and the Inn. One is on the left as you drive up and one on the right. I stayed in room #4 and it could have been cleaner, some attention to detail. There were carpet staples on the floor by the jacuzzi, the interior was not a barefoot kind of room. The little stove has foil on the burners and the cost was high for a more "campy feel". I would not have paid over $800 for 2 nights for this. The pool on the side I stayed is unfinished and freezing, in fact the side I stayed on looks nothing like the other side (resort) it almost looks overlooked in comparison. I say if you stay make sure it's in the better half but I am not certain if the rooms are better as I did not see those.
The great things are that the beach is literally within a short walk and not very busy. There is an AMAZING restaurant next door (get a reservation early). It is a charming area and the people are friendly. The staff was amazing, you could text the front desk at any time and ask questions and she got right back with you! Being a property manager that is huge in my book.

All in all it had great aspects and not so great as many places do. It all depends on what you are looking for. If you are a jacuzzi person then you will be in heaven.

Hi Amanda, Thank you for review and for staying with us at Turtle Beach Resort & Inn! Yes, The Resort and The Inn side do have different feelings to them for sure. That said, some do prefer the private, beachy, chill feel of The Inn. I'm sitting here now writing to you watching the dolphins and nature and it's kind of close to heaven. You should know that we are getting new ovens (bye bye tin foil burner protectors!) and we are getting a refurbished pool featuring saltwater and a heater THIS YEAR! It's a goal. Our new management took over in 2020 and they make sure that you can feel comfortable enough in our rooms to take your shoes off and dance around. We have the best cleaners on the island. They are in-house and management double checks each room for cleanliness before guests come in. That said, we aren't these newer, cookie cutter hotels by design. We have that Old Florida Beachy feel. It's not for everyone, but we are glad you enjoyed a lot of what we have to offer while you were here!

My husband and I spent 5 nights at the Inn after a week in Plantation Florida. We prefer smaller, quieter accommodations preferably close to a beach and this was everything we could have hoped for and more. Elena checked us in and walked us to our room at the Inn. She was extremely friendly and took time to show us the room and explain where to find extra towels, beach accessories, kayaks and bicycles, all in a closet near the room and open to guests. The tv didn’t work so she went to her office and returned with what was needed, nothing seemed to be too much trouble.
The room was larger than expected and nicely decorated. There was a comfortable king bed, a well stocked kitchen with refrigerator, stove and microwave ( free bags of ice were provided outside). Also a small bathroom and shower, a table with chairs, and two comfortable upholstered chairs. The front window faced the lagoon and adjacent to the bedroom was an outside room with a thatched roof and large hot tub, which was lovely!
The garden outside our room had a small pond with a fountain and a gazebo, then a deck overlooking the lagoon with tables and chairs, perfect for enjoying morning coffee and breakfast. There was a rabbit visited the garden most evenings, some unusual birds and lots of tiny geckos.
Turtle beach was about a 5-10 minutes walk, around the north of the lagoon ( it was actually across the lagoon from the Inn) and we took beach chairs, an umbrella and cooler from the Inn. The sand was coarser than the powdery sand of Siesta Key but so much quieter and less crowded and the water was lovely.
There were 3 restaurants within walking distance of the Inn, two casual and one fine dining ( Ophelia’s). We enjoyed all of them, especially Ophelia’s, plus Miguel’s close to town. There is a free trolley that runs from Turtle beach to Siesta Key village about every 20 minutes so we never used our car. We stocked up on groceries at Publix across the bridge in Sarasota on arrival so never needed to leave the island.
I can’t say enough about how kind and helpful the entire staff were. We met Elena’s father Dave, who is the owner also Elena’s husband Mark and Sarah and Alicia who helped in the office. Other staff members did housekeeping and maintenance and all were so friendly and helpful.
We were so sad to leave our oasis and new friends and will certainly return. I highly recommend this lovely resort.

Arrived at the Turtle Beach Resort, warmly greeted but it was down hill from there. The accommodations are bungalows haphazardly arranged on the bay shore. Ours was funky and just didn't feel clean. After a day one starts to notice the rotting deck, the plethora of extension cords, the complete lack of attention to the grounds. And there is no maid service, no one makes a bed, provides clean towels or empties the garbage, To my mind, the merest of amenities.

Siesta Key itself is delightful and the beaches are everything we have been told. There are many restaurants, all good, cycling, and many other things to do.

Everything in room was broke (Coffee pot, coffee table leg, blinds). The coffee canister was not sealed so it must just get refilled each time. They advertise kayaks and bikes but don't be fooled. We watched for kayaks for 3 days and never saw them come in or go out from sun up to sundown. Tried to go for a bike ride, but the seats are so rusted you can't adjust the height and it was extremely uncomfy to ride with them in the lowest setting so only made it 2 blocks. There is no maintenance person on the weekends, so I had to net the pool of millions of leaves before getting in. The room was nice and clean and the staff was excellent, but this place was not worth $295/night. Lived and learned!!!

Dear Karen, Thank you so much for your review, and we appreciate you bringing up your concerns! We take our guests happiness seriously and whenever there is a concern we address it immediately. We heard your issues during the first day of your stay and addressed them all; brand new coffee pot, blinds and coffee table. As we mentioned during your stay, we have 8 kayaks and canoes on property. If they are not at The Inn where you stayed you can walk across the street to The Resort where many of they usually live. And I know this doesn't help you now, but new bikes are on the way! We are always working to improve our guest experience and hope that one day you can come stay with us again and we can make your stay 100% awesome! Please reach out if you need anything between now and then: 941 349 4554 or info@turtlebeachresort.com All our best- Turtle Beach Resort.

Thanks for your inquiry about bikes. Weekends are busier than midweek nights so it would depend when you are visiting as to how many guests take the bikes we provide for free. . There is also a new free trolley now that starts right near our resort and goes up and down the 8 mile island from 8 am til 10 pm or longer that you can take also for free transportation. There is also a bike rental shop by the first bridge where you can rent your own bikes. We usually have enough bikes for our guests recreational use, since we have the boats and beach and pool that are popular activities.
Siesta Key, Florida6 contributions1 helpful vote
Hi The closest boat rentals are Bayfront Marina (a 2 minute walk from The Resort) and Siesta Key Marina (approx. 3 miles away). Both have full day rentals (8am to 5pm) but neither appear to allow overnight rentals. Our docks can accommodate boats up to 28 feet in length. We have 8 bikes and poles split between our 2 resorts and are currently replacing and adding to our stock. And, yes, the disturbance caused by our new maintenance worker's car has been addressed. Sunny Days.

The unit my wife and I stayed in was not handicap accessible. I do not recall seeing any units with ramps, but it's definitely worth calling and asking the management because they'll do whatever they can to help. I hope you get to enjoy a stay at Turtle Beach Resort!
