It is such a calm, peaceful place to walk around the lake and across the little bridge at Torry Island Campground and see all the alligators and different birds such as ibis, egrets, herons and seagulls. You feel closer to nature when you are there. My husband and I enjoyed our Saturday walk around the lake. It is also nice...

I enjoyed my time here with Audubon. Torry Island Campground & Marina is very well kept and great for birding enthusiasts looking for good photo opportunities. It is a safe and beautiful place but I also recommend going with a family or a few friends, not alone. It is the first time that I ever saw an Orchard Oriole. Saw...

The facilities are excellent, the staff helpful & other campers very pleasant. Bugs were vicious at dusk as it is right on the water! Would definitely stay there again. Came across an enormous gator on 2 mile loop walk.

came to this campground after leaving a wonderful county owned park in south bay..very friendly young women in office but somewhat disorganized atmosphere..nice wide sites but not very level...clean older restrooms..beautiful waterview and great area for fishing and bike riding and walking the dogs..now for the bad..the whole campground was surrounded with a high chainlink fence... look like a compound..we...

We were a party of 9 visiting for the first time. The campground was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Had a great time in our tent camping trip but the area was to close to the canal and noise specially at night and early morning with the coming and going of the boats. The electricity was...

Stopped here planning on staying overnight but decided to stay 3 days. Very quiet, friendly. On Lake Okeechobee. 50 Amp service, full hookups for $28.66 includes tax. Great place for fisherman, too. We took an airboat ride this morning, Eagle Airboat Tours. Mike the owner was very entertaining and knowledgable about plants, birds, and history of the area. Highly recommend...

Your federal tax dollars, wasted. Mangement with a capital MANGE. Mediocre hopes unfulfilled. No maintenance funds evident. Paradise lost. Come with low expectations and enjoy yourself. They have not yet totally destroyed the place. Has water, electric, sewer, some shade, and unintrusive (invisible? imaginary?) staff.

We camped with a group of family and friends at Torry Island over Presidents' Day weekend. The office staff was very accommodating when the reservations were made in January. On the morning of our arrival we contacted the campground to let them know we would be arriving after 6:00pm. The office lady was annoyed stating that we should have advised...

In February 2011 we booked one week at this campground because it was economical. After a week there, we booked one more week since we really enjoyed the fishing and quiet this campground offered. We plan ongoing back again next February.

This is a wonderful clean quiet campground. If you have air boats it is perfect! I love the sunsets and the people. No pool or store, but we brought our blow up and enjoyed being right by the lake!
