Our trip was not a fun trip, my sister was in ICU at Tampa General Hospital, difficult and scary, we didn't know what will be next. Joseph checked me in and always was courteous and excellent on his customer service. Mark and Jan at the bar were the cheerleaders of the PM crew, keep us forgetting about the hard day and cheer us to have a better one, from a simple chat to asking how our day went, both of them ensured we were served and even allowed me and my nephews watch shark week. Thank you for making our stay smooth and stressed free.

The actions of the staff turned what could have been a disaster into a wonderful stay. I made the arrangements through the Hilton reservation system (which is obviously in some offshore call center) and I was very clear of our one, single, need. As my wife is handicapped we must have a roll-in shower rather than a tub. I was very clear and had a long conversation with the agent and he told me I "most assuredly had a room with a roll-in shower reserved". When I arrived the clerk informed me that there was no indication that we needed a special shower and none were available. This was our single requirement as without it my wife cannot bathe and so the room was useless to us. We were faced with nowhere to stay at the very last minute. Fortunately, the manager was able to step in and upgrade us to a suite with the appropriate shower. We were given a beautiful room in what looks to be a nearly new hotel adjacent to the airport. The room was quiet and comfortable and the food we ordered from room service was delicious (and not outrageously expensive). The availability of food onsite was important as there are not a lot of dining options in that part of Tampa. We had a terrific stay and my wife was able to shower off the famous Florida humidity. I would recommend this property but beware of the Hilton reservation service. This is not the first time it has let me down.

Exemplary service. Beyond kind. Professional & thoughtful.

These are just a few of the words to describe the staff at this Hilton Garden Inn.

I travel a LOT for work. I also travel a LOT personally. We all know travel can be a grind when things don’t go smoothly.

On this particular day, I was not expecting to stay in Tampa but weather delays/airline issues meant that I had to miss a business meeting in NY and instead, stay overnight near TPA without my personal items, clothing, etc. all of which kept on traveling in my luggage without me (an airline snafu).

Rather than miss NY meeting altogether, I wanted to attend it virtually instead. The only problem? Without my luggage, I only had the travel/sporty clothes I was wearing (not ideal for an “on camera” presentation I was to give.)

Enter Angela.

I explained everything to her as she was working the front desk and she immediately understood my situation. Knowing there was not enough time for me to get to the nearest mall, she offered to let me borrow a clean black polo shirt she happened to have in her car so I could be presentable and professional in my on camera virtual meeting. I did and the meeting was a success!

All I can say is: WOW!!!

Angela went way above and beyond in terms of being helpful & friendly!! She made it like she was helping a friend out.

You know,now that I think about it traveling as much as I do can be lonely. But not with people like Angela out there.

Thank you to the entire staff at this hotel and most importantly, to my new friend Angela.

Hilton was not thinking of their loyal customers when they kept this hotel open during massive renovations! When I made my reservation by phone, there was no mention of construction work happening.
The Front Entrance and lobby is closed for check ins . The temporary check in area is like a very small janitorial closet. Most common areas are being dry walled. There is dirt and dust everywhere.. The elevators are a mess covered in dents, duct tape and displaying a heavy chemical Oder. The guest elevators are being used to carry down dirty old carpeting as well as the remains of rooms being renovated…as well as the construction workers.
The dining room and bar are in temporary make shift places near construction plastic. They hardly resemble places where you would want to dine.
What on Earth is the thinking behind keeping the hotel open during this time. It is beyond disrespectful to Hilton customers…and a real smear to the Hilton Brand.
They might have considered closing the hotel and renovating all of the first floor and then reopening while renovating one floor at a time…while dedicating one elevator to guests and another for renovation purposes.

Pros and cons of this hotel.
Pros - the buffet breakfast is good and the waitress is very good !
The beds are big and comfortable, plus even though the hotel is a little dated its clean.
Cons - I arrived sunday and there was nothing to say proir to my booking that the restaurant wasnt open at lunch. ( I needed to stay close to get work completed) So I just got a bag of chips..... they were normal size and I was charged $5 !!! Which is fairly disgusting.
So I decided to walk to the Beer House for dinner which is 4 minutes away, instead of staying in the hotel restaurant. Honestly I felt ripped off.
But the biggest issue is safety. As a single female I like to feel safe in a hotel, but I realised that anyone can go up to the rooms at any point !! I knew this as a pizza advert for a local bar was pushed under my door, by the staff of the pizza place !
As the lifts dont need the key card. Wasnt happy about this, and honestly questioned who else was wandering around.

Well I have stayed at this hotel for 10 years when traveling for work. But it is not good now. 1. under construction for months - I get that 2. lighting has changed and is so bright not even one light to get your coffee without being blinded. 3. Heat had to be on 80 or AC was running cold but 80 was too hot. 4. Refrigerator cabinet door too small for it to close. 5. No light above coffee maker. 6. Heating system is not good - no choice to choose heat or AC - so you either have it off (temp was 42 last night) or again had to be 80 to get heat or got AC - Marriott has the best idea - one button for heat or another for AC.
7. Smoking area is by back door, which during construction is the only entrance so you have to walk past everyone smoking to get to your car. Sad but i was diamond for 10 Years or more but have moved to Marriott as they have better service and better rooms. If anyone who designs hotel rooms actually stayed there I think they would make changes.

Disgraceful! How do you stay open without even warning guests that the lobby is completely under construction AND charge full rates? The woman who checked me in from a closet was miserable, the phone in my room didn’t work and there was hair left on the bathroom floor from the previous guests. Did I mention that the make shift restaurant ran out of breakfast that I paid for ( while breakfast is included at the less expensive hotel across the parking lot). The GM should be ashamed and offer refunds to all guests that paid good money for a terrible experience.

I arrived at this hotel last night (Nov 5th) to find the front entrance closed for construction. With signs pointing to a door around the back of the hotel- it certainly didn’t feel safe for a single woman by herself. Add to that the only sidewalk to the door was BLASTING the sprinklers and I and my luggage got drenched.

I got to my room where discovering the ice machine in my floor was broken- so I went down to the floor below- to find it an active construction zone with no barrier to walking onto the floor (and no ice machine). same for the 4th floor. Finding the one on the 7th that worked, it gave me ice mixed with dust and sand and dirt.

It was already a stressful night so I asked the front desk via text about where I could find a working ice machine and got a response 4 hours later- after I was asleep- to “try a different floor”

My room had no closet or anywhere to hang clothes. There were hangers shoved at the bottom of a cabinet- but not where to hook them. I even paid for an “upgrade” to this room.

I stayed across the parking lot at the Homewood Suites a few nights before and it was lovely. This hotel SHOULD NOT be operating in its condition.

There are plenty of other Hilton properties within walking distance- do NOT stay here.

Food at the restaurant was awesome and our server was great! We would eat at this restaurant again.
Grilled cheese, grouper dish, and burgers were perfectly cooked at Coast.

We recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Tampa Airport Westshore for one night and found our overall experience to be quite satisfactory. The room provided all the necessary comforts, including a well-functioning air conditioning system, ensuring a pleasant stay.

Our dining experience at the hotel restaurant was also notable, with a variety of tasty options that catered well to our tastes.

However, we did encounter a minor issue at the hotel bar. While the bartender was adept at crafting Old Fashions, the quality of these drinks was unfortunately diminished by the chlorine presence in the water and ice. This affected the overall taste of the drinks. Buyer beware!

In summary, our stay was comfortable and met our expectations, with just a small recommendation for improvement in the bar area. The hotel's close proximity to the airport, mere minutes from the rental care return, is incredibly convenient. We would consider staying here again on our next passing through Tampa.
