This hotel is just wonderful. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The food is good. The location is right across from Bern’s steak house. The pool is a nice addition too. We really like this place and will continue to go back and enjoy the hotel.
Rossi and her team at the Epicurean, were outstanding and this was the most memorable hotel experience in a long time. I miss this place and will go back! The staff and atmosphere in summer its actually very quiet.
Full disclosure. I walked into this hotel with the understanding that I would not enjoy my experience at all but I was prepared to suck it up for my gf's wedding. Long story short, we thought we were being pro active in booking a room online and thinking we could just move the booking to the bridal room listing when they finalized it but unfortunately due to 2 unforced errors from their staff, we came away feeling duped and yet this could have been handled so differently. So coming into this hotel was not pleasant for me until I met Kay. She is just awesome people. There were so many things I needed as an out of towner wedding guest but Kay made every single request seem like it was the most natural request ever. I loved the fact that she made an extra effort to meet our demands. After 1 day., all my anxiety about the hotel and the booking issues receded. The room with a terrace is directly next to a Freeway which is as loud as all hell so there goes that. Why would you charge top rate for that room? That was very triggering for me considering the wedding room list booking debacle and the emails back and forth. Anyhow, to continue with my review. The restaurant Elevage is very much hit or miss. How do you get over easy eggs wrong? meaning hard yolks!! Basically this hotel felt like nothing special and I think that is what I am trying to convey. A place is made special by its staff. Kay was exceptional and I wish I had seen her when we checked out but she was due in later 😕 so we missed her. It is people like Kay and I am sure others who are working there, who make this place thrive. …
I recently used a 50K Marriott very to stay at the Epicurean in Tampa, FL. I was really looking forward to this luxurious “splurge” after staying in a Courtyard hotel all week on work’s dime. Firstly, I hoped the hotel concierge could help me secure a reservation at Bern’s steakhouse, which owns the hotel. They only will help if you book the Burns package rate. I contacted them a over a month in advance (from my home in Germany) & they offered no help, since I was staying on points. I ended up getting a reservation by setting an alert on Open Table. It was an 11pm reservation, but we made it work. On check-in I was asked if I wanted breakfast or points. Excited for the options at a place famed for being an Epicurean refuge, I selected breakfast. When we arrived at 0900 for breakfast, we were informed that weekend breakfast doesn’t even begin until 1000. 😳 We needed to be at the airport at 1100. We returned promptly at 1000 and joined the brunch line for a table. I asked the waiter what the included breakfast was and he sent me back to the front desk to get the card that details what we receive (which wasn’t given to us at check-in), which added stress and wasted time in our already rushed schedule. What a bait & switch. The included breakfast is an off-menu version of the Denny’s grand slam (kidding, you get a better breakfast at Denny’s). To further the slap in the face, the credit doesn’t even cover the $3 coffee. Am I wrong for thinking that a $500/night stay might include more than an $8 coupon for $20/plate breakfasts for Platinum members? This was the ONLY amenity offered to Bonvoy members. They even refused my Suite Night Award upgrade request. The pool was mediocre and there was nothing exceptional about the room, aside from the top-end minibar (with prices to match). Definitely do not waste points or money here if you are expecting to have any Elite membership benefits or concierge assistance.…
Kate is great! Had a wonderful time at the hotel. The hotel is beautiful - I highly recommend taking a tour with Kate. Check in was efficient and friendly and I loooooved the complimentary glass of wine :) Kate made my stay great! Can’t wait to come back!!!
The service in this hotel is outstanding! I needed help with getting a gift to a guest, and Michelle at the front desk was amazingly helpful! She went above and beyond, and made my life easy!! I was given amazing recommendations and was accommodated in every way. Such amazing help!
My wife and I checked in super late after delayed flights and Wayne at the front desk warmly welcomed us and treated us to glasses of wine. Our bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was well stocked and spacious. The hotel is in an area that feels like a neighborhood, walking distance to restaurants. Don't miss Bern's Steakhouse across the street! Hotel valet Isaac took good care of us. We loved our stay and would happily stay again!
We chose to stay here for our 1 week vacation. It’s been wonderful. The hotel itself is very nice and in an excellent location. The hotel is clean and the staff all very helpful particularly Damien who was incredibly kind and attentive at breakfast time. Our only negative would be noise from upper floors (perhaps the hotel could put something in the doors so the slamming can’t be heard as loudly in a room below) and the fact that private functions meant we couldn’t use the pool some days. Aside from these two minor things we would highly recommend this hotel and would choose to stay here again over anywhere else.
Very nice stay for a wedding. Well situated in SoHo (South Howard) which boasts some great restaurants and bars. The staff is very friendly. The focus is on wine and food. The wine shop in the hotel is fantastic. The valet parking is easy and reasonably priced. The rooms were well appointed Ted and clean. Best hotel shower ever! The pool was small but nice. Great walking on Bayshore Drive. No complaints. Oh, directly across the street from Bern’s Steakhouse!!! Don’t miss!
What can I say. This hotel is our home away from home. The staff..Lauren, Morgan, Harmony, Kate, Darren, Frank and Margarita were wonderful! Joanna booked us a reservation at Bern’s dessert room. Fantastic! Frank made our experience at Elevage unforgettable! His recommendations and attention to detail made the difference. Everyone we met including the housekeepers were really fantastic and very friendly! We’ll be back!
