The Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay boasts a plethora of amenities such as diverse dining options, pools, and nature trails, though some guests have pointed out service and maintenance issues. While the rooms are generally seen as comfortable and well-designed, there are comments about maintenance needs and dated features. Its cleanliness receives commendations, yet its remote location can be a drawback for those seeking varied entertainment. Opinions on value are mixed, with some guests finding the costs unjustified by the service level. The hotel's atmosphere, noted for its modernity and tranquility, is often praised, even as service quality receives varied feedback.

One of the nicer hotels I have stayed in for conferences. The room was very comfortable and lighting was well designed - no fumbling for switches and plugs for my devices were easy to find. I appreciated the underfoot lighting that came on automatically with motion. Fitness center was well equipped and not busy. Food provided by the hotel for the conference was excellent. Hotel was quiet and I slept well, which is probably the best compliment I can give.

My, oh my! Visiting Tampa was never in our plans. We arrived at the hotel with nothing but our carryons which had nothing but our electronics and snacks. The reception staff greeted us with patience and empathy, two things I appreciated after finding out I’d be stuck overnight in an unfamiliar city. The hotel manager on duty gave us each a complimentary glass of champagne which was much needed after the day we had, in addition to toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, makeup wipes, and body lotion; just we needed to hold us over until we got home to Houston. The experience overall was such a nice surprise and I can’t wait to come back— on purpose! We loved it there!

My family and I stayed here recently on a family trip. It was close to the TPA airport which was great! Angel was very helpful upon check in. He explained the check in process and where to find the parking garage for our rental car. Parking is $18 a day to self park in the garage, $30 for valet parking. The hotel has 2 restaurants, but we didn’t eat at either of them during our stay. Our room was comfortable and clean. Rooms could use some updating and it seemed like the hot water in the shower took a while to come through, but overall the room was great. We had a great view of the bay!

If you're traveling to Tampa for any reason, pick a different hotel. This one is poorly managed, overpriced and not welcoming. Common areas, including pool are mobbed with loud, partying non-guests who trash the lobby bathrooms, but guests are surreptitiously charged a $30 per day "resort fee" to pay for it whether they use it or not. Wi fi is unsecured, there's no information in the rooms about hotel services and amenities (which are minimal) or the surrounding area, and hotel staff is willfully unhelpful. The location is beautiful, but there are very few other dining and entertainment options nearby, and everything is difficult to access from this location.

This property is obviously old but has great views of the bay if you are staying bayside. I was surprised that in 2024 the front doors were not automatic and there wasn't an alternative for a person with a physical disability to seamlessly use the main door. Because it is an isolated location, the lack of a real business center means that is is not the property to stay if you are working.

We went to the Grand Hyatt Tampa because we wanted to celebrate my wife's milestone birthday. I had put that in the reservation I made online on the World of Hyatt website. When we arrived at the hotel, I was not recognized as a Globalist until I told the Front Desk Agent. Also, the Front Desk Agent did not go thru all of the amenities at the property until I asked (i.e. hours and location of breakfast, fitness center, etc). When I told the Agent we were there for my wife's birthday and that I had put that in the reservation and wanted to know if they put an amenity in the room. The Agent told me she didn't know but I will say that another Agent ran upstairs and put something in the room - so I give her credit for doing that. I was disappointed that we were not given a free upgrade to a suite in the Casitas even though it was available. They said I would have to pay an extra $300 even though I am a Globalist.

The hotel is a little tricky to find because of its location.

The hotel has some nice amenities including free bike rental, pickleball, tennis and basketball and a nice pool.

The cold water in the sink did not work properly and the mattresses in the room sagged a lot.

Based on the reviews we were expecting a lovely stay. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case. The hotel was clean and conveniently located close to the airport. Unfortunately the hidden fees we received on our bill, will be the reason we never return. We booked the room and breakfast package. On the conformation is states, daily breakfast for all registered guests. We were shocked to notice we were charged an additional $70 for breakfast. When we reached out to customer service, they offered us nothing other than points for the inconvenience. When you pay extra for a breakfast package and get charged additionally, it’s really disappointing. You will also pay a destination fee, which is also a money grab if you are only staying before a flight. Beware of this hotel.

This gem of a hotel is tuck into a beautiful spot that has exceptional views. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was clean, luxurious, and quiet. A short ride to Oystercatchers, the onsite restaurant, is always available. It's a 4 star restaurant, but be prepared for a cold room. It felt like the temp in the restaurant was colder than the 60's degrees outside.

Extraordinary service and quality of food/lodging while staying at this property for a convention. The wooden token is a nice touch, providing for a complimentary glass of champagne. It may only be sparkling wine but a complimentary beverage from the bar at a time of your choosing is certainly something to smile about. Most of all, the food was on point - each and every selection. From the meals provided with the convention to the appetizers, salads and Sunday breakfast buffet...everything was delicious. This level of hotel quality is a rare find in close proximity to airport, so make time before your departure OR after your arrival for this spot. It will surpass anything you can find at the airport; however, the food prices will not.

For $500 a night, stay elsewhere. I have frequently stayed here over the last 5 years and sent many of my staff and management team but on this last trip the room requested and booked, was not available and was only provided the reason “we are overbooked”. The front desk check in person, she was extremely short with me and rude. Then to get to the room, it’s always a very good nights sleep but the room was filthy. The toilet had “remains” from a previous guest. I wouldn’t expect this at any hotel, especially not when spending $500/per night.
