The hotel the Godfrey was amazing they help will all of our accommodations. Now wtr on the other hand is a different story, will the manager wasn’t very helpful he did offer us drinks but since wtr makrets the pool to hotel guest and doesn’t mention how weekends you have to pay, is bad marketing on one hand and is rude to have guest expectations and experience affected by WTR. Now when we told WTR team out front In line that we were hotel guests they told us that they don’t care. Now when I’m on a trip with my mother who can’t walk far, and wanted to see her daughter enjoy herself with no children around, is disappointing since we don’t have the chance to enjoy ourselves. We told them we got here yesterday and are only here till Wednesday, they asked if we wanted to pay extra for vip. Now after being told it’s $20 and hotel guests get a discount and then we get treated like that. I wouldnt recommend WTR to anyone and I would give a 0 for hospitality. The Godfrey is great and even refunded our hotel fees for the inconvenience, but WTR you need a better marketing team, advertising is not what’s being shown, they allow rude vendors. The Godfrey 4 stars especially Hedi. Now WTR I would give u a 0 or a middle finger as a review. Now what are u gonna do to help fix our inconvenience because ur manager will said he can’t help with the vendors and since they have a contract with the marketing vendor producing the party he 100% could do something. WTR I won’t recommend u ever.

We booked three nights stay at the hotel on a Wednesday Thursday and Friday night. Upon our arrival they gave us an early check in to a room which was a little bit older but clean and functional. The balcony had a view of the pool and the bay which was wonderful. The pool was a little bit cold because it's not heated but we managed to swim. The rest of the hotel was quite acceptable and served really well as a homebase and place to relax in the sunshine during the daytime. It was quite near other restaurants that we could visit and only A short Uber ride to downtown Tampa. We would definitely go again. My recommendation is that if you are looking for a five-star hotel you're in the wrong place. If you want a retro hotel that is clean and fun and a good price… Then this is for you.

We came to stay for our family vacation right after Spring break. When we got there we had to wait over an hour because our rooms weren't ready. We had requested adjoining rooms and were told no problem when we booked and ended up not getting adjoining rooms because they didn't have any available. The room floors were dirty and you can tell the room is cleaned but they need to deep clean the room floors and carpet. The locks to the sliding doors are not secured and old. The towels had stains and the bathroom shower and tubes also needed to be deep cleaned and need to be updated. We woke up to extremely loud noise because we were not told about any construction but there was. It started at 10:30am and lasted until 5pm right above our room. Now.. I will say after bringing up our concerns about the rooms and the noise the managers and front desk made every effort to ensure we were taken care of. We could have left but we appreciated all they did to make things right so we stayed. The front area when you enter looks great and is updated, the views are great (basically what you are paying for) and the pool area is nice. A good place if you are fine with paying champagne prices but getting beer.. It's just not what you would expect from the pictures online.

Don't fall for the fake 5 star reveiws. This is so gross. The pics looks great and the lobby does too! Its one thing to have accidentally not serviced a room, but when housekeeping CHOSE to not change out the sheets and just use the sheets from the previous guest, you KNOW its a problematic hotel. The hairs from the previous guest were all over both beds (little curly black chest hairs). The bathrooms only looked clean until the light caught all the dried product. You wouldn't dare get into the tub, you'd walk away with several skin diseases. Stay far away.

This hotel is the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed at. My husband and I booked The Godfrey with a block of rooms for our vow renewal that we were having close by. After already signing a contract with them, some negative reviews were brought to my attention by family and friends. When I approached the sales manager with my concerns, I was assured that our block of rooms would be located in the newest renovated rooms in the hotel and that they would take care to make sure all rooms were immaculate. I stressed the importance of cleanliness as I am immunocompromised going through cancer treatments. Upon checkin, I received multiple texts from family and friends with pictures of the disgustingly dirty rooms. Even my husband and my room which was a suite was dirty. The front desk manager offered to move the rooms that were having issues and promised that his HK manager would oversee a deep clean for all of our rooms. While he did manage to move a couple of the rooms, those were no better and still were disgusting. As for the deep clean, this never happened. Our friends one room trapped a live roach and brought it to the front desk staff where they were dismissed. Our friends in another room woke up in the morning to roaches crawling on their suitcases. Eventually after threatening with legal action and a health department investigation, we were able to get the manager to comp our rooms. I will never stay here again, and I will never recommend this hotel to anyone. We would have gotten better service and cleaner rooms at a Motel 6. If I could give this place negative stars I would.

Currently here still sadly but can’t not say anything because I’m a little flabbergasted by what has transpired this far. Really wanted to love this spot as the water is pretty, good location and pool but dirty room yuck
Arrived early off a cruise ship fully expecting to have to wait long for a room.
We were pleasantly surprised we only had to wait 2 hours and were given a room around 12:30- room 521.
Upon going in noticed several things. Ice cream an over wall and carpets, unwiped down surfaces. We went to the front desk showed them picks and she said she’d have someone “re clean it”. We left for lunch. When we came back the issues we had shown them were fixed however we went to take a nap and found ice cream all in our bed 🤮.
Called front desk again and they seemed very nonchalant about it - asked if we wanted new bedding or a desk different bed. Um 😐
They came to change our bed and seemed very annoyed and unfriendly. She barely said a word and slammed the door on the way out without saying anything. Ice cream on the wall is one thing but re used bedding with ice cream all over it is NASTY
Really disappointing by the lack of care or hospitality with something I would think would be taken more seriously in a hospitality situation. If we were staying for more than one night I would be trying to figure something else out but we are exhausted so guess we have to deal with it 🤷‍♀️

This might be one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. For starters the room we received was FILTHY. The floors were dirty, there was dust everywhere, and hair shavings on the bathroom walls. It pretty much went downhill from there. The sink would not drain, the shower head would leak all over from where it attached to the spout and flood the bathroom. No matter how low we put the air on, the room didn’t seem to cool off. The ice machines don’t work on the floors and you have to go all the way to the front desk where they have a chest freezer of ice. There is no cleaning during the evening and if you want to request a cleaning via the room phone it doesn’t even work, you have to physically go down to the front desk to ask for your room to be cleaned and to get towels. Half of the time the toilets don’t flush so you have to have maintenance come and fix it. There is a mediocre mini fridge in the room that seems to differ from room to room. The fitted sheets don’t actually fit the bed so they fall off anytime you move in the slightest bit. The floor tiles throughout the hotel are literally cracking and falling apart and the ceiling has leak patches and areas throughout the building. It is most definitely NOT worth the price you pay to stay at this place and I would NEVER stay there ever again. I’m extremely disappointed considering how nice the website makes this place look. I wanted to give in the benefit of the doubt but all of the other reviews are right, this place is a dump.

Room was filthy, old towel left behind door in bathroom, garbage left in bathroom, hair all over the floor, contact lens disposable case left on the floor, toilet not cleaned, main room not swept, main lock in door didn’t lock waited 1.5 hrs for maintenance to say they couldn’t do anything supposed to fix next day talked to desk they said no notes in lock had to request a second time for it to be fixed. Roaches in room because it wasn’t cleaned right, trash container in room sticky and stuck with old food garbage. Requested a microwave and the center plastic was melted so the dish didn’t spin. No ice bucket, no table on balcony. Horrible experience.

I’ve worked in the tourism and hospitality industry for three years as it was my job in the summer during college. I’ve stayed in multiple kinds of hotels before and worked at plenty of resorts; however, I’ve never been at hotel that advertises itself as a luxury experience without backing up that luxury experience.
Firstly, we were booking for a wedding block and they tried to convince us that they have a four night minimum, which turned out to be a total fabrication. When we checked in, the front desk agent was rude, but at least we were able to only stay for three nights without issue.
After the long flight, I asked for an Americano at their coffee bar and their server was like “Are you sure?” either patronizing me for not knowing what an Americano is or not wanting to make one for me despite having the equipment to do so. Then it went downhill from there.
The first night was less than stellar. Our fridge flooded the floor in the middle of the night and we had to switch rooms. They comped us the night, but we were on a sixth floor city view room and they switched us to a first floor water view room, which is not an equivalent. It also doesn’t help that the front desk never answers the phone when you call them, which is awful considering they are supposed to be a “luxury” hotel. Furthermore, if you have any water view room, you’ll be inundated with the bass thump from the adjacent club during weekend nights.

Entering and exiting the parking lot took ages because they barricade all of the parking rows for hotel guests and you have to circle around the parking lot due to the club traffic. This caused a bottleneck when entering and exiting.

The only positive thing I can say is that it’s in a wonderful location on the water while being an Uber ride away from both downtown Tampa and Clearwater. Upon checkout, they waived the resort fees after having to move rooms.

Honestly, the employees appeared overworked and not a lot of this is their fault apart from a few people. However, management needs to take at least some iota of responsibility for the poor organizational practices by taking the following steps:

1. The front desk needs to have the phone manned at all times.
2. Turn down frequency should be asked upon check-in. Not requested, unless something urgent appears.
3. Guests do not like a response like “Are you sure?” when requesting something. “My pleasure” is the appropriate response. Employees are there to serve guests and their needs.
4. The parking situation needs to be figured out by having another exit to keep a steady flow of traffic.
5. Plants need to be placed in front of the balconies on the ground floor water view rooms for additional privacy and noise obstruction.

There are better options than this place in the area. Ultimately the price does not match the quality. Unless they meet these conditions, my only recommendation would be to stay away from this place as much as possible.

My over all experience was disappointing in the first day, I received a dirty room, bathroom was not cleaned properly. They gave me another room but the front desk lady acted as if she was annoyed by it, didn’t even apologized for it either. Looks are deceiving… the location of the hotel is perfect tbh & the views are gorgeous but over all this hotel needs a lot of work. Rooms flooring is literally warping, the desk in both the rooms were chipping, there’s mold in the bathrooms, they don’t change certain sheets (I found blood stains on the pillow cases) and they use a swifter to clean. The staff that’s cleaning should be given ACTUAL carts with good products to disinfect and clean properly. I was quite disappointed. The Pool experience was good. The views were amazing… and crazy thing is I spoke to 3 guests that all said the same thing as I did. Please pay attn to these reviews bc it is def what we are describing. And breakfast is real basic and overly priced !
