Surf Beach Resort is located within close walking distance to restaurants, souvenir shops, groceries, and most importantly, the BEACH! It's right in the middle of the Treasure Island beach trail, which is lit at night, and is a great path to restaurants on the beach, or just a nice path for walking and people-watching.
Our condo, #602, has two bedrooms, two baths, a living area and a full kitchen. It came equipped with everything we needed for our vacation: a TV in each room, an extensive selection of DVDs and DVD players in each room, stacked washer and dryer with detergent, plenty of white room towels and striped beach towels, plenty of bed pillows, alarm clocks, hair dryers, soaps and shampoo, linens, kitchen items include plates and cups for 8, basic appliances, (no seasonings or food), coffee maker with coffee set-ups for two, toaster, blender, hand mixer, pot and pan, utensils, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, a room safe, a couple of games, and a few beach chairs. There were four chairs, a side table and a small breakfast table on the balcony, which made morning breakfast so nice. The sofa in the living area folds out and has a pump for the sofa bed, so there's room for lots of family. It's a small condo, but we weren't there to stay inside. It was very comfortable for breakfast on the balcony, afternoon naps, evening snacks, and sleeping at night. We also had a numbered parking spot. Only one was available for our room, so if you travel with more than one car you might want to call ahead and make sure there's another spot available.
Although our condo wasn't as clean as a hotel, it was just fine for a beach vacation. Door handles, light switches, and some areas on the walls and cabinet handles needed attention, so I just wiped everything down myself with the cleaning solution I found under the kitchen sink and carried on. There was no reason to call the office. Otherwise, the beds were clean and fresh, towels looked brand new, and the pillows were actually quite comfortable. The bathroom toilets and showers were clean, but the buildup on the shower heads did interfere with the water pressure a bit. There was no musty smell that sometimes accompanies a humid environment. The room smelled clean and fresh.
We happened to be there for July 4th and what a show! There were fireworks up and down the beach for over 90 minutes! It was surreal to see that so many people had brought their own fireworks. It was an unexpected highlight of our trip.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, happy to answer any questions.
I have stayed at other condos on Treasure Island, and this was my first visit to Surf Beach Resort. I would gladly choose to stay here again.

The 2 room 2 bath condo was in pretty good shape. Nice well equipped kitchen and everything worked. The washer and dryer were very nice to have there to use. The bathrooms however need a lot of attention, mold and or mildew in the showers, the tile floors grout is absolutely horrific!!!. The parking was an absolute disaster as people parked in our assigned spot and other people complained of the same thing. When the tow truck came they couldn't get into the parking garage to move the improperly parked car. The staff there on the property were very helpful, offered another parking spot but to my surprise admitted the parking problem was ongoing and nothing they could do . The cleaning people only clean or service your room if you're there more than 7 days, but they never asked if we needed towels or supplies. I had to track them down or call the front desk. The pool was very nice but was never vaccumed the whole time!!! We enjoyed out stay , the view was the best I've ever had on the beach with what is most definately the most unique section of beach I've ever seen. The area's of plants and , palm trees and Sawgrass that originally lined the beaches in Florida are incredibly well maintained with wide areas of sand and walkways out to the beach. Overall, we'll be back!!!

Back again! We have visited the Tampa gulf area for years and have finally settled in on Treasure Island. We have stayed at multiple condos, but like Surf Beach the best. The complex is 30 units so it never gets too crowded. Easy access to the beach, and walking distance to John's Pass and all other activities on the island. The property is well maintained and the staff are great! It is on the boardwalk which gives excellent walking, running, biking access to the main attractions. We rent bikes for the week and there are bike racks in a gated location for security. Also a great little deck area with grills for those nights you decide to dine in. Beautiful sunsets from our balcony (see pic) Easy walking to Publix, Walgreens, C-stores, great restaurants, and adult beverages. We will be back again!

Tried this place because you can obtain a direct gulf view for the same money I paid for a partial view at another location. All rentals have their problems. This resort does not service condos that are rented through VRBO and the manager made that clear when I visited it prior to my stay. The unit we stayed in needed a new master bedroom mattress and pillows, as they were terribly smelly. The bed in the guest room had to be repaired o avoid the caving in, in the middle. The shower head in the guest room was also replaced because of the pressure loss. There is no security, so enough of us had to listen to people making a lot of noise, unheeded until 3 am in the morning.

Unfortunately you did not book under Sunsational Beach Rentals and we do accept VRBO reservations but this looks like you booked through another owner at this location. We always strive to create a cohesive atmosphere and with Sunsational you would have been afforded an after hours number to call when issues were to arise. I will forward this information on to the home owners association as we all need to have units that are of equal value.

This was my second time staying I enjoyed it so much the first time the pool and hot tub was very nice but this time the hot tub was broke from the 2nd day till the last day which was 6 days. But it was fixed the last day. The rooms are very clean my king bed this time was very uncomfortable compared to the first stay and the twin beds were like sleeping on a cloud both times. The pull out couch was horrible -10/10 it was better to just sleep on it without the pull out. But I love that there are chairs and umbrellas available to people who fly from other states. The employees are so friendly too! The hotel is very clean.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. This is a great location to walk to great nearby restaurants (VIP Mexican is great), shopping and even to Publix if just picking up a few things. I wish I could say our condo was as clean as everyone else says but it was not. I did not complain or call on it just handled it ourselves (turned sheets over, sand all over the floor, hair in the guest bath shower). Unit 405 has a great view, ok kitchen (literally zero things like salt and pepper), furniture and especially the master bed are in very used shape (VERY). The condo bldg exterior is in great shape just don't stay in #405. Also, there is a rental company on the beach to rent chairs from for very reasonable price...super nice people, highly recommend because the condo has zero things for the beach. One more note, the last night apparently elephants moved in above us and you could hear their every single movement!

Well equipped 2bed 2bath condo. Everything you need was provided from dishwasher tabs and washing detergent to beach towels. We stayed for 2 weeks and didn’t want for anything. The reception staff were very helpful and polite. I can’t think of any negatives for this place. Oceans views with beautiful sunsets. Will definitely return when visiting this area again.

Before arriving at Surf Beach we had sent an email to the hotel about our late arrival and requested a high floor unit. We had sent this message through Expedia where we had booked the room just like last time in August 2019. As we are returning guests and stayed in a high floor unit(501) before, we expected to be accommodated in a high floor unit as well this time. This year we also booked through Expedia and the hotel gave us a unit on the fourth floor (room 405). This unit is so outdated that even the drawers of the chest of drawers wouldn't even close. The water pressure was also very low. So we requested to exchange this unit for unit 501. Valerie(manager) told us that they would repair the unit and that we could not change from unit because we had booked through Expedia(???). She told us that if we had made the booking on their website it would have been possible. It surprised us that when you book through a travel agency you are obviously less likely be to accommodated on a high floor unit (on the 5th and 6th floor), according to Valerie, the manager. Even more so because last time we had booked through Expedia and were accommodated in room 501.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. When booking through a third party website your room number is not guaranteed. When you approached us with your issues we had maintenance come to your condo and fixed the issues. Maintenance also checked the water pressure in that condo and found nothing to be wrong. We did our best to accommodate your requests and you were moved to the condo you stayed into before which was 501. We appreciate the feedback.

We come to Treasure Island for two weeks in January every year and this is the best location, just steps from the beach and walking distance to many restaurants and stores. The condo was very clean with two nice size bedrooms and baths, a good size balcony with a table and four chairs with great view of the sunset. The pool and hot tub area was very nice and well appointed, they also have a very nice grilling area with picnic tables. The staff on the property were very helpful and friendly. We also liked that it was a smaller property with only 30 units, the pool was never overly crowded. Have already booked for 2024.

My family has been using this condo for years now because the attention to detail here is amazing. The rooms are fully stocked with everything you may need from spare towels to air mattress pumps, the kitchen has tons of appliances, and there isn't a bad room in the place. Each room comes with a balcony that gives you stunning views of the Gulf. The pool and hot tub are also really nice and always clean, and there are plenty of places to shop and get food within walking distance. Staff is friendly, and you can't beat the location.

Hi no coffee shop on the boardwalk but a couple of the bigger hotels are open to non residents. They have open areas onto the boardwalk where they offer coffee or bar service.
There are more places to choose from in the Treasure Island area.
