Friendly helpful staff, old rooms but clean, beds needed a little love (could feel the springs), we had an upstairs room that looked over the pool out to the ocean (which was awesome), on the beach side (with a short walk to get to), close to restaurants. Over all i would stay here again!!

The property has potential if an investment would be made to update the rooms, fixtures and infrastructure. The beds were okay, our backs didn't hurt in the morning, but we've slept on much better. The carpet is old as well as furniture with one dresser drawer broken. The phone didn't work and the alarm clock was unplugged after each daily...

Nice location by boardwalk on beach, pool was heated and warmer than the other places we stayed in the area which was nice. But....dirty, dirty rooms. The coating of dust on the old tattered window blinds was bad. We ended up going to buy Lysol Wipes to "clean" everything. The toiled was bad, when the lid was lifted it was...

This is definitely not a 4 star hotel, but everybody was so friendly and the room was clean. The mattresses could use updating as they aren't that comfy, but I still slept fine. For the price and being on the gulf I thought it was great! I was on the second floor which had huge windows overlooking the pool and...

I spent at least a week researching a great place to stay along the bay for February 2017. I found The Sands in Treasure Island off of GoSeek.com or Booking Buddy (my two faves). When I got there it looked great, just as described w pool right out the door in the courtyard and beach just a 3 minute walk...

Loved our little room, pool was outside the door, staff was great, we were on the ocean, just a little walk across the dunes, weather was great, what more could you ask for, met some great people, lots of fun

The motel has been in existence since 1947, some of the furniture in our room has been there since they opened....steel dressers and steel desk and chair. The beds, innerspring, old and not the most comfortable. The motel, nicely located, ocean view from the pool, rooms were quiet, off the road, rooms were roomy, kitchenette & separate living room. For...

Absolutely love the Sands of Treasure Island! We love vintage motels and the spot is sooooo great! We had a very spacious room with beach view, and lot of windows balcony, 10 meters from the beach, and kitchenette for reasonable price! Nice staff. O.K. the rooms are a bit old, but that's the charm of the hotel!

I really enjoyed my stay at The Sands. It is old school, for sure. Classic, friendly and absolutely all you need to enjoy the beautiful beach and sun of Treasure Island. Just steps to the beach, a pleasant walk to several relaxing restaurants, and a pool to float in. The rooms could use updating but served our needs well.

We recently had a 2 night reservation at this property. We left after the first night. This is a very old hotel, which I don't have a problem with. But it is filthy. There was dried blood on the box springs along with other mystery stains. The efficiency kitchen is original from 1946 and so dirty it was unusable. Shower...
