This hotel is exceptional in every way - from the decor and style to the service and comfort. The location is perfect, we had a water view room with a view of the marina and it was an easy walk to many restaurants/bars and points of interest and a short drive to much more. The decor is a perfectly eclectic mix of styles with attention to every detail. The rooftop restaurant/bar has excellent ambiance as a backdrop for lounging either by the pool or in one of the cabanas. And the Proper Grit restaurant sets the bar for great service, high quality food and drinks and stylish decor. Our waiter, Gorkem or “G”, was incredibly attentive, genuinely gracious and made us feel welcome. Our room, a King water view, was spacious and very comfortable, and we are very particular about our bedding. We travel often and have stayed at many of the Autograph collection hotels including London and Seville, and this one did not disappoint, we highly recommend!

Good place for a work meeting. First the positives: modern boutique decor, similar to the kimpton brand but larger hotel. Very clean, you are given a welcome drink upon check in. Since it’s new(er) the towels are very fluffy and it’s nice they have containers of water in the room. The meeting room was beautiful. The location is only a few blocks away from the restaurants in town.

What could be improved- a doorman to open the door for you or automatic-opening doors. My colleagues and I struggled with the heavy door when opening it and carrying our suitcases. Also, the hallways and elevators have very strong odors of urine. I looked online and it looks like this place allows pets but I had to cover my nose in the elevators and hallways each day. Other than that it was a good stay.

Overall a great location with a great rooftop bar with a great view. But it's too crowded and you really don't get any sort of priority even if you're paying a lot of money to stay there and the support staff still cant meet expectations even at a 4 star place/ prince point. Nothing cringeworthy, though. Just not meeting expectations.

Exceeded Expectations:
-Food at the rooftop bar (lobster rolls, crabcake benny, coconut margaritas)
-Staff friendliness (everyone I met went out of their way to say things like "good morning!")
-Very comfortable beds!

Met Expectations:
-Vibe (contemporary, chic, well done)
-Hotel loaner bicycles
-Brightline package
-Rx vending machine

Did Not Meet Expectations:
-Support / housekeeping staff overworked (signed up for room cleaning/service ahead of time and asked for it from the housekeeping staff and answered yes to housekeeping when asked directly -- but never got it; they were too busy/overwhelmed turning over the rooms from check outs for incoming new guests to get to mine)
-Staff gossip: disgruntled bartender complaining she'd been stung by bees 13 times at the rooftop bar and management did nothing (unprofessional, I don't want to know)
-Staff gossip: recently separated former employee complaining about inadequate severance from Marriott at the breakfast bar (inappropriate, I don't want to know)
-In room dining: way over salted steak -- barely edible
-In room climate control: The AC could not get to the desired/set temperature, even over a generous and patient amount of time. I called after 3 hours and they did send a building engineer promptly, but he told me in not so many words (and very politely) that basically I probably didn't know how to operate the controls and to just be patient. (It never got to temperature but I didn't bother calling again.)
-Insanely crowded rooftop deck/bar/ pool. The pool at least is supposedly reserved for "overnight guests" but you'll have to get through 100 people surrounding it and good luck getting a table! The whole point of staying at this hotel is the water front location with the rooftop bar for views, service and ambiance ... it's overrun
-Breakfast espresso beverages: made with one of those machines that steams the milk and grinds the espresso beans all-in-one (instead of by a human, separately) where it burns the milk, completely fails at foam, and lets the espresso turn bitter. Really at this price point they cant have someone actually make the latte?
-Slow elevators (relatively minor and probably not fixable, they should have put in another one when they designed/built the place) but be prepared to wait a while!

Horrible... Ben autograph West Palm Beach that I feel compelled to share. Due to a missed flight, I arrived at the hotel 1 day later than planned and was unable to check in. Because of this, the young man at the front desk couldn't figure out how to get me into my reservation. The front desk staff made several attempts to contact the manager on duty for assistance, the manager kept explaining to him how to unlock it but he couldn't figure it out. The young man requested the manager come to the front and the manager never showed.

I ended up waiting in the lobby for hours with no resolution, which forced me to pay for a second reservation at this hotel for the night so that I could access a room and shower. I also made another reservation at a different hotel because of this. The entire situation turned my trip into a financial burden, costing me around $4,500 between the three reservations. All I asked for was to be led into my room so that I could shower and then we could figure out the details after 48 hours of traveling. Instead I had to pay for another reservation and a manager that wouldn't show up.

The following day, the manager on duty apologized & agreed this should have never happened. She offered to make things right however I had booked a separate reservation at the four seasons the prior night due to the lack of help. The manager told me they would help me get a refund but that I would only receive a partial refund, which I feel is unacceptable given the circumstances.

I have never experienced anything like this from a hotel chain before. I expected much better customer service from a Marriott hotel. I hope that my experience encourages the hotel to improve their service and communication.

Absolutely beautiful property and great rooms, but the service at the front desk/on the phones and housekeeping was unfortunately mediocre at best. Ordering to-go at the restaurant was also a mess.
Booked/payed and was confirmed for a water view room but was checked into a room that looked directly onto the roof of the porte cochere? Tried messaging on the mobile app and they said nothing they could do? Finally visited the front desk and was able to get moved up a couple floors…
The large bottle of body wash in the shower was almost empty at check in — only enough for one shower. Called the front desk to request a replacement and deodorant, nothing. Called 20 minutes later to ask for an update and was told it’d be right up. 15 minutes later the deodorant was delivered but no body wash.
Housekeeping serviced the room 4 times throughout our stay and never refilled the body wash?? If you’re out, at least communicate with guests and possibly provide alternative?
Tried to call AND chat on the mobile app with concierge, was told you have to visit in the lobby, no phone calls or chats. Went down and was told there wasn’t a concierge on duty?
Saw the sign in the elevators to text the concierge the next day, tried that and just no text back?
Tried to order sandwiches to-go at the restaurant in the lobby and the lady at the coffee counter wasn’t sure if they could do that (after we were told to do that at the pool), and then didn’t know how to ring it in?
The electric cart shuttle and the beautiful rooms were the best parts of the stay… Will try one more time, just hope the service is better.

The Ben is nice, but it has a ways to go if it wants to be a really good hotel. Ambience is inviting, rooms are spacious and well done, location is fine. But attention to detail is lacking when it comes to guest services...

For instance: We called several times for different pillows - they never came. The bathroom sink wouldn't drain - the guy came to work on it, made a mess, then left without fixing it, never to return. After being seated the first morning at Proper Grit for breakfast (which is quite good) multiple servers walked past without any acknowledgement. After several minutes, I flagged down a woman who brought me a cold cup of coffee; no sweetener on the table, she brought two packets of sugar instead of the dish of sweeteners.

The bright exception to this seeming indifference is the man who waited on us our last two breakfasts at Proper Grit. Gorkem, whom we learned is from Turkey, was pleasant, attentive, and made us feel special every morning. You can tell he truly takes pride in what he's doing, and his time at Proper Grit is more than just a paycheck. He is the sort of positive person who understands the fine art of service. Bravo!

Do not eat at this location Spruzzo charged my card $1000 for a $150 bill. The worse experience I’ve ever had due to them doing this. No one told me they would put a charge or hold on my card and it should never have had happed because the bill was paid with cash mostly. I have no permission to anyone to charge my card $1000 it really ruined my trip as I need my money.

The best customer service and most hospitable staff I've ever come across at a hotel. From the front desk to the gentlemen holding the door, everyone met us with a smile and a helping hand and our group repeatedly mentioned how amazing it was. They didn't miss a beat and really made an impact on our experience. Not to mention, it is in a fantastic location just outside Palm Beach and with complimentary bikes and a complimentary (and knowledgable) shuttle service that can take you to all the nearby places you'd like to go. So glad we didn't rent a car or fuss about Ubers!

So glad we chose to stay at The Ben. From the moment we walked up to the front door we knew we would love staying here. We were treated like everyone was really happy to see us. Our room was upgraded to have a beautiful view and a bottle of champagne was sent to our room as it was our 55th anniversary. Any request we made was promptly answered. Sitting in the lobby was very comfortable to just relax and people watch or read. The location could not have been better, easy walking distance to all and if we didn’t want to walk, the shuttle was always a good choice.

While it is different depending on the day of week and incoming guests that day, the hotel was very accommodating and allowed us to have a late checkout.

Billie, There are always negative reviews for everything on the web. While I respect them, you have to balance that against the positive ones. We had a great experience at The Ben.

As far as parking, it is only valet parking. There is no place to park except valet and the parking costs $29 per day. WiFi costs $9.95 for high speed or free in public areas like lobby. I have a Titanium Elite status with Marriott, the Highspeed WiFi Was complimentary.
