Come one, come all to Cirque St. Armands Beachside, Opal's newest Lido Key-based hotel. Just steps from the white powdery sands of Lido Beach and a two-minute walk to the sophisticated district of St. Armands Circle, this circus-inspired hotel pays homage to the legacy of one of Sarasota's most famous residents: John Ringling. Picture something like The Great Gatsby meets Moulin Rouge with grandiose billowing drapery, geometric and stripe patterns, ornate ostrich feather chandeliers, golden wall sconces, and pin-striped columns. It's a dreamy backdrop - with all the same core tenants of an Opal property: signature hospitality, food and beverage, and upscale accommodations that offer views from the beach to the bay.

Arrived 2 hours early & our room was ready. Reception people were friendly and knowledgeable. Room was surpisingly nice given other reviews All normal items were wrapped in sealed plastic bags (remote for TV, plastic cups, Coffee Maker , Ice bucket Etc) There was an obvious effort to combat Covit. For others complaints about lack of room service and maid service PLEASE READ the website Its all there in writing Don't come if you can't play by the rules. People are people and a few did not wear masks . There was noone from hotel to monitor
The view from room is magnificent and location near great restaurants make a short mid week getaway very worthwhile

We enjoyed a fabulous long weekend at Holiday Inn Lido Beach! Extremely convenient location with beach right across the street with crosswalk. We loved the short walk to the great shops and restaurants at St.Armonds Circle. Lido Beach is just as beautiful as we remembered it 20 years ago. Lifeguard is on beach. Family oriented clean beach, gulf was so warm and calm, we lucked out with three beautiful days! We brought our own sand chairs and umbrellas, but there are rentals right on the beach for those who need it. We were hesitant to travel during Covid, but families socially distanced at the beach. We were pleasantly surprised by Covid signage by the many sanitizer dispensers located around the hotel, by elevators, pool, socially distancing signs on floor of elevator. There are no housekeeping services during Covid, which we were pleased to know that no one was in our room during our stay. If you need extra bath towels, toiletries, the desk will be glad to bring it up to you. There is a $25 per night resort fee which includes water bottles in room, pool and beach towels and pre Covid apparently included coffee, but hotel apparently is not providing coffee station during the pandemic. For $25 per night, in lieu of coffee station, perhaps hotel can include at least 1 cup of coffee per day for guests free for takeout at the breakfast restaurant on the 7th floor which costs $3.Restaurant has a gorgeous view of the gulf. We only used pool last day, but it was clean and nice. Rooms were very clean. My recommendation is to provide guest only key access to pool to avoid any over crowding. Hotel staff was very pleasant! Will definitely return!

This hotel has a great location. It is directly across the street from an entrance to the beautiful Lido Beach. That made it easy to get to the beach. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel.

The retro decor is fun. Although it wasn't pool weather when I was there, the pool area was lovely, and the pool was inviting. It was a great place to watch the sunset while sipping a glass of wine from the bar. The bar had tasty flatbreads and homemade potato chips, along with other bar food. The room had comfy beds and a nice balcony. Although, I didn't have a beach view, the city view was pretty, and I caught a colorful sunrise.

Reading previous reviews made me a bit worried about smelly tap water, but the odor was minor, and the water was drinkable for brushing teeth. The hotel provides free bottled water in the room, and fruit-infused water and plain water were available during the day. The "fruit water" was the best I've had -- really fruity!

The one disappointment was that the new restaurant was open only four nights a week. I would have loved to have a full dinner with a view at the hotel Sunday night, but the restaurant was not open.

The Good:
The location is almost impossible to beat, right across from the main public beach. I'd suggest either a beach view (front side) or a 5th, 6th or even 7th floor view if on the back. Otherwise you're overlooking the parking lot for much of your view.
The staff are top notch and very accommodating. I have no doubt that they would run through fire to help folks out, though I had no need.

Rooms can be had with the breakfast supplement, of which I'd encourage if you're a breakfast eater. Rather than the usual help yourself melee, there's a proper sit-down breakfast on the top floor with large windows & wait staff. Choose from the ample menu or the breakfast buffet. The meal voucher will cover most appetites.

The Not So Good:
The maid service unfortunately does not vacuum the rugs in the rooms while we were there. I discovered this by accidentally leaving a chip crumb on the floor, noticing it was still there in a open location I left it. It was still there the next day.
I did overhear the front desk folk stating that they are booked solid through the end of March, and "We need a good housekeeping staff, as we're turning over 60 rooms a night."
Maybe they need to hire more?

The Bad:
Unfortunately the bathroom was very long overdue for a remodel. There were ugly gobs of haphazardly applied silicone sealant around the very outdated tub/shower. Some of it was just smeared on and ugly. Other areas had separated and the voids almost looked black.
There was a handicapped grab bar installed, complete with rusty screws and the lower edge covered in scum & rust.....
Toilets were not cleaned daily.
Once while seated on the toilet (we all have to go, right?) I noticed 2 tiny ants and a silverfish bug run into a crack on the wall/floor where the grout was missing. WOW...! No I didn't feel threatened, but really?

If you've read my previous reviews, I'm you'll see that not a complainer. However given the price for this Holiday Inn I feel a bit cheated. There's better value for the money out there.
This hotel property has some strong points and some bad ones. I'd suggest you shop around and upon arrival, check your room thoroughly.

Pros:
Hotel has a great location right across the beach. I chose the city view and we got the 5th floor. We visited on tuesday after July 4th and didn't get any noise and slept so comfortable on their comfty and soft beds.
I noticed the hotel was taking the precautionary measures for COVID19. They were cleaning lobby constantly, employees wore masks, sanitizing station near elevator, items in the room were sanitized/bagged, and the process of getting towels and checking in and out was great.
The room was clean and it was nice that every room has a balcony.
I interacted with a couple of their employees and they provided great customer service.

Cons:
The 5th floor hallway smelled humid and muggy.I did not feel any ventilation or AC in the hallways or in the elevator.
The elevator should be cleaned more frequently because the mirrors were disgusting and dirty with finger prints all over it.
Due to COVID19 the restaurant on the 7th floor is only serving breakfast and not dinner as advertised online and on their posters in their
elevator.
I tried getting breakfast on the 7th floor and there was only one table of people and the rest of the restaurant was empty but yet the service was slow and we ended up leaving the table.

**** Due to a pipe breaking nearby the city had a water problem and I didn't have water on my check in day and the 2nd day I had water but it was water with softners and sediment. This I will not count against the hotel because they had no control over this and they also did everything possible to make it up to us for the inconvenience. They provided great customer service.

The location of this hotel is all that it promises in that it is just steps away from the beautiful Lido Beach and around the corner from St. Armands Circle (shopping and restaurants), but the hotel itself needs some love.

One of the two elevators is not functioning and hasn't been since November. The carpets in the rooms need a good cleaning (pet friendly hotel). Bathrooms in guest rooms need to be updated and the furniture could use a refresh. The walls are paper thin so you will hear EVERYTHING your neighbors are doing or saying.

One of the best features of the hotel - the Sand Dollar Restaurant - on the 7th floor - is currently closed (except for private functions) which is a real shame as it overlooks the beach and would have been a great place for drinks and dinner.

Luckily, the staff was super friendly and helpful.

Hello N7635GUchristiner, Thank you for your stay and for taking the time to leave us feedback. I want all your stays with us to be a delight. I know this requires our ability to assure a satisfactory stay for you. I am sorry to learn that the elevator was not working during your stay. I know they will look into these and strive to make things right. IHG Hotels & Resorts takes the mitigation and prevention of COVID-19 seriously. For the health and safety of our guests and hotel colleagues, we are operating on modified or reduced services which include the temporary closure of our Sand Dollar restaurant. The changes are temporary and normal amenity and service levels will be reinstated as soon as possible. I hope we get the chance to serve you again and create a better experience for you in the future. Warm thoughts, Deborah R. Case Manager IHGService

Everything about this property was perfect. We had a gulf view room which offered a terrific view of the beach and gulf and perfect for an extra hour of sunbathing. Lobby bar offers a nice assortment of reasonably priced appetizers and drinks and is also accessible from the pool. Breakfast (buffet) and dinner served on the 7th floor....again beautiful views and good service. Free coffee and ice water all day along with free use of beach toys; best of all free parking directly across the street from the beach. The pool could use a facelift but the area was clean and well serviced. If this hotel were located anywhere else it would be a slightly better than average Holiday Inn. Throw in the location and super friendly and you have a terrific beachfront resort. Highly recommend! Great alternenitive to the mega condo vacations just down the street.

There is no correspondence between price and quality, it is announced that they must wear masks but many do not comply with it and there is no demand from the hotel staff, at the entrance to the beach we met several people and when they asked them to When they put the masks on, they simply replied that they had them in their bags and that's where everything was left. They need an authority to watch over and demand this rule.

Old rooms and bathrooms even more. The good thing about this hotel is its location in front of the beach and close to restaurants on Armand boulevard. If you are a risk person this is not your destination because there is no social distance in the vicinity No use of masks here and not on Siesta Key too

Loud music in the rooms on Friday night and early Saturday morning. I had a lot of expectations on my first trip after so much confinement and unfortunately I wasted my money and time. I hope they give me the detailed invoice with what they have charged me because the one they gave me because I asked for it, it does not say anything detailed about the charges but in the account I have more money debited than Expedia confirmed, I will wait until the end to know what has happened with the difference. I will not return to this destination while the pandemic lasts, it is not safe and to this hotel never.

The only thing this hotel has going for it is the proximity to the beach. The pool is tiny; don't bother going to it.

The lobby appears somewhat recently renovated, but the rooms are OLD. The paint is in bad shape, and metal in the bathroom had rust. The furniture had signs of wear. Overall the room was pretty clean, but it is in bad need of renovation/updating. The room also had dark yellow lights (actual yellow LED bulbs) in all the fixtures, which gave off a very creepy cheap motel vibe. While we were lucky enough not to have people staying in rooms around us the first few days (judging by the silence), people checked in around us as the weekend approached. This was clear as the walls are apparently paper thin, and you can hear EVERYTHING in the neighboring rooms.

As mentioned in other reviews, while the hotel does have a mask policy, it doesn't appear to be enforced. Granted, the lobby is small enough that there's only a few feet from the door to the elevator, but still. If you have the rule, you should enforce it.

On a positive note, all the staff we encountered were very friendly. Passing through the lobby, I heard a lady at the desk giving some very thorough recommendations to an older couple for places to eat in the area.

I spent a lot of time trying to decide where to stay at Lido Beach or Siesta Key. We wanted a beach front view, a bar, pool, restaurant, steps away from the beach and activities, short term stay and no construction going on. The Holiday Inn checked all those boxes. And we were delighted with our stay.

I have to give a shout out to the staff. They are all friendly and helpful. Especially Jayme. He is stellar. I talked to him on the phone prior to our visit and he took care of us. He is an exceptional employee.

The hotel is clean and comfortable. It is not luxurious but the location is. The beach is just steps across the street. And St. Armand’s circle with shops and restaurants is a short walk or shuttle away.

The hotel provides a lot of nice amenities including water bottles on request, snacks in the afternoon, beach towels and toys, a gym, laundry room, free shuttle to St. Armands, free parking, etc.

We stayed in a beach front room with beautiful views of the beach. Our room included a sofa, table and chairs and a mini-fridge. The bathroom had toiletries and a hair dryer.

Though the Holiday Inn Lido Beach was very comfortable, it did need some upgrading. It’s getting old. A fresh coat of paint, removal of rust on the sliding glass doors, loose towel bars and small bathrooms with low shower heads etc. could all be improved.

Overall, we certainly appreciated the great location and warm, wonderful staff. The Holiday Inn is a nice, affordable choice in Lido Beach!
