This was the most reasonably priced, so it made me hesitate to get a room here. The rooms are clean and quiet. The owner is nice. Of all things, the place has an indoor basketball gym, event area. Could be used for a wedding space.. just saying.
Where to start? The door to our room was missing the numbers. Upon stepping inside, it smelled musty. It just got worse. There were roach droppings on the shelf above where you hang clothes. I killed a roach crawling across the floor. There were dead bugs in the ceiling light fixture and mold on the bottom of the shower curtain, which hung on a very rusty rod. The only good thing I can say is that the mattress was comfortable. Pick another place to stay!!!
Hotel staff were very kind and accommodating after a long road trip and having to stay 1 night in the car due to hotel closures with Covid 19 they gave us a room quickly when we arrived. Rooms were extremely clean, beds were comfortable, and country room view was fabulous.
This hotel is not at all what it seems. The pictures are not accurate. This hotel has not been updated and is not modern. The boy good thing I can saw is the bed was comfortable. The room had dust and trash under the bed and on the bed frame. They didn’t have a bath mat and only gave two towels and two washcloths and no hand towels. The shower curtain was filthy. I was quoted a price and when I arrived they wanted to charge me an additional $10. The ceiling had water damage and the walls had marks all over them. They didn’t even have a rod in the closet for your clothes or hangers. There were no blankets other than a thin bedspread on the bed. When we went for breakfast they were almost out of everything and we still had 30 min. This hotel is going thru renovations and should not be open until they have completed the repairs. I have attached pictures as proof…
My sister and I, along with my dog Mojo, visited Blue Ridge and stayed at the Modern Inn because it is dog-friendly. It was very clean and had plenty of space to walk Mojo. We expected it to be basic and, thanks to the reviews I read on this site, I knew to take hair dryer, pillows and towels; however, I was surprised to find no bath mat and only two coat hangers. There were no hooks to hang towels or robes. It would be SO easy to take this place up sevetal notches by providing things like hooks, bath mats, better soap, etc. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful, but the manager really aggravated me when the electronic lock on our room failed and we were locked out in the rain. So was the woman two doors down. Two maids tried, unsuccessfully, to open both malfunctioning doors, yet Russell, the manager, insisted there was nothing wrong with the locks and implied operator error. He opened the door with the master combination and I insisted he change the code, after which we had no more trouble. I have read other complaints about those locks. They should replace ALL those locks. If we took another trip with the dog, I'd stay here again. The good out-weighed the bad. It's just a shame the owner doesn't take the easy, inexpensive steps to bring this place up to snuff. Take a trip to Dollar Tree and buy some hooks and bathmats! …
