Checkboxes on our list were: Away from “Busy” Relaxing atmosphere A place we could stay and enjoy; no need to leave, Hot tub and Hiking. The Overlook Inn checked all of our boxes and some we didn’t know we had!! First up; the view! Wow! Both sides of the Inn face a view that takes your breath away AND the common sitting area boasts a glass wall facing the rolling ridge of Blue Ridge. Next, our evening charcuterie, Pinot Grigio, hot tub and crisp mountain air gave us exactly what we had hoped to achieve! Morning came and what was anticipated to be a quaint breakfast was actually a table for two in front of the mountain facing window. Homemade granola, zucchini bread, coffee, hand squeezed orange juice, dried fruits, baked lavender peaches with a fresh cream topping. The main breakfast course was your choice of made from scratch blueberry pancakes, apple chicken sausage/bacon, or an avocado, tomato, egg, guyere cheese, and topped with a chipotle aioli drizzle. Tonight we have a fireside dinner for two. YOU.MUST.EXPERIENCE.THIS!!! #HiddenTreasure #BillandNicole #OverlookInn #NewFriends Angela…
Bill and Nicole were great hosts. Very personable! We stayed 3 nights and loved every minute! Breakfast was amazing. My picky husband loved it also and even said it was one of the best places he has ever stayed. We rented The Grand Gahuti. King sized bed with a fireplace! We had our own private porch and hot tub. It was a cozy and romantic getaway for our anniversary! The inn is located right in the mountains so town is about 20 minutes away, but that was kind of the point. We wanted to be away to relax. Fort Mountain State Park is close by so we also got some hiking in. Definitely recommend the cheese and wine tasting on the weekends!
The Overlook Inn is one of the best Bed and Breakfast we've stayed at. Nicole and Bill were exceptional host. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and very abundant. Bill is one heck of a cook. The cheese and wine tasting was a nice extra touch to an already wonderful exlerience. Nicole and Bill were very accommodating for anything special we asked of them. Nicole was sweet and packed up our left over granola to take on our hike. They have tea and coffee in your room and Bill even gave me some honey for my tea. The Mooneye room was very spacious with a comfortable bed and a private hot tub on the private screened in porch that overlooked the grounds and mountains. The dining area had beautiful views of the mountains with a fireplace and music playing. We definitely plan on visiting here again. …
We cannot say enough about the wonderful atmosphere Bill and Nicole provide at the overlook inn. Tucked in the mountains it was very picturesque, even in the fog. We stayed in the Mooneye suite and couldn’t have been happier. The room was cozy, clean, and comfortable. The hot tub on the screened porch was an added bonus and very nice to enjoy after hiking in the afternoons. The three course breakfast provided was outstanding, some of the best food we have ever eaten. Bill also cooked us a fantastic dinner for two one night topped only by Nicole’s amazing homemade dessert. I cannot recommend this inn enough. We will definitely be visiting again.
We have been coming to this place for over 15 years and recently there were new owners, Bill and Nicole. Our experience continued to be fantastic and the food we had for breakfast was some of the most amazing food we have ever had at this location. Every morning was wonderful! The place was also incredibly clean and it is very apparent that Bill and Nicole do everything they can to make their guests feel special. We will continue to come here as we have for many years. We would highly recommend you give them a try.
