Well the Afternoon Tea was lovely. The cakes served in a beautiful Nyetimber wine box and that's the problem. We got the box but not the fizz. I booked after receiving an email promoting their Wimbledon afternoon tea. On the email it very clearly states "Indulge in an array of delicious sweet treats (they were delicious), scones and savouries especially created by our kitchen team all washed down with a glass of Nyetimber Fizz ". Sounds great but actually the fiz wasn't included and we paid £15 for 2 glasses of Prosecco. Very disappointing. I contacted the hotel and their events co ordinate agreed it was a bit misleading and she would discuss with her marketing team. However no offer to refund the ,£15. I then contacted their MD and no response whatsoever. So the lovely Afternoon Tea has left a bit of a nasty taste in my mouth and if I do follow up on their marketing emails I will be double checking everything.

Hotel's Favourite
We were due to get married at Maryculter in April 2020 until Covid cancelled our plans. The team at Maryculter were so helpful and supportive rearranging our day I can't fault them for a single thing. We decided to continue with our wedding on Friday the 13th of November with the current Scottish Government Guidelines in place. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the hotel staff and everything went off without a hitch. The food was amazing as always and everything felt really normal which was fantastic. Can't praise Maryculter House enough for everything they did for us and highly recommend to everyone.

oogle We arrived at the hotel and checked in, we walked to our room along the squeaky and creaky floorboards, well the hotel dates back to 1255, which was of course at the end of the hotel. When I walk into the room I was very pleasantly surprised, it was as good any five star in London (see pictures) for details. This is a true retreat with walks around the hotel grounds but little close by to disturb you. We used it as a base to get around the surrounding countryside with Covid restrictions we ended up back at the hotel early evening both nights. The food was fantastic with a good selection for breakfast and full menu for evening meals. Drinks were served in the Long Hall after dinner and we chatted to a few of the other guests. I might have liked a bar area if one was available. The sun terrace is a great place to sit and have a few drinks whilst watching the Dee slide by at a brisk pace. The entertainment was helped by a group of local oil WAGS comparing their lives as the drinks flowed, excellent entertainment and good fun.

Thank you for your great feedback about your stay with us, we love that you like our history, one of the many reason guest enjoyed the hotel. Our rooms have just been refurbished, and we are continuing this throughout the year. The great hall is the perfect place for a pre or post dinner drink, our bar area is in the restaurant, however we have had to take away seating at the moment, until we are allowed a standing bar again. This weekend was a busy for us, with our Girly getaway package, for all to enjoy! Look forward to welcome you back soon Many Thanks Maryculter House Team
