$28.00 per person round trip to get to island. Okay that's $56.00 for two. $7.00 per person to walk beach (National Park Service Entrance Fee) No lunch or dinner yet. Just a walk on the beach. After lunch at the restaurant we have spent $35.00. This is not a National Park for all people. Not sure I can afford my...

If I could run away from the world forever, this is where I would go. My husband and I have recently returned from celebrating our 29th anniversay at Greyfield, the 4th time we have celebrated here over the years. The island is astonishingly beautiful and because of its protected status, it seems destined to stay that way. Very few private...

We stayed at the greyfield inn to celebrate my 50th birthday. What a treasure! The inn itself was just lovely. The staff was so welcoming and we were fed the best meals. We had a naturalist Christina show us the island 2 of our days. She was wonderful and so knowledgeable. We got to see Dungenous, Plumb Orchard and the...

Please don't miss the opportunity in life to experience Cumberland island. And doing so at The Greyfield Inn makes the experience wonderful. We go every fall for our anniversary trip and have that "inner peace" moment when we see the island. The staff, the dining, the house, the island... It's awesome.

We have been spending the Thanksgiving season at Greyfield Inn for most of the last decade. It is remarkable that the owners, descendants of Thomas Carnegie, continue to put such mammoth efforts into opening their historic family mansion to guests. Except for respecting the history, staff, chefs and family by dressing up a bit for dinner, it is a totally...

This had been on the bucket list for years. It's a restricted access island off the Georgia coast. There are a few primitive campgrounds, a few family homes, the ruins of Dungeness, a majestic Carnegie mansion, Plum Orchard mansion and the Greyfield Inn. Greyfield mansion was a home built by one of the Carnegie offspring and exists today as a...

We enjoyed our stay here immensely. Although it's very pricey, getting away from constant communications (especially during election season), enjoying an empty beach, and making friends during the suppers and trips together made it worthwhile. The inn has a gracious and timeworn sensibility about it. The staff are very attentive and accommodating. We especially enjoyed kayaking and a couple of...

We just spent 2 nights and 3 days at the Greyfield Inn celebrating a significant birthday. What a treat. We truly felt like we were transported and in another world of relaxing days and evenings. All of the staff are wonderful and very interested in the guests' enjoyment. Special call outs to Christina, our naturalist guide, Zella, our versatile guide,...

The Greyfield Inn is likely the most unique beach resort property you will ever visit. Three generations of our family just spent 4 days there (a return visit for most of us), and everybody loved it - biking on the beach, looking for fossilized shark teeth, 15 miles of natural seashore, fishing, eating GREAT food - IOW, something for everybody....

truly unbelievable with 3 meals and including a picnic lunch daily. however some of the furniture should be updated - actually refurbished, the furniture may be original but it needs to be recushioned and redone. meals were with everyone together with meeting others from across the USA with many having been there in the past and wanting to return

Thank you so much for your review of your stay! We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the Inn and meals with other guests. In addition, your honesty about the furniture is very appreciated – we’re aware that this needs to be done and are actually in the process of getting the furniture reupholstered. We hope we get the chance to...
