My wife and I just returned from Greyfield celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We have traveled all over the world and selected Greyfield as the place to unplug, unwind, reconnect, recharge and celebrate. Our expectations were high and Greyfield exceeded all our expectations. The island and natural surroundings were awesome. The staff was incredible. The Inn itself was beautiful, welcoming...

We spent Memorial Day weekend here. It had been on our bucket list for awhile. We were not disappointed. The Inn's nature guides were knowledgeable about both the history of the island and the island's ecology. We made sure we went on very tour available. The tours are included in the room cost as are three hearty meals per day,...

Pricey but with the pristine nature of Cumberland Island, nature tours, food and the service we think it worth the money. The food was great, the BF was grand, kayaks, bicycles and nature tours provided free of charge. No Wifi and don't bet on phone signal. We love lunch picnic and the 17 miles of deserted beach. We love the...

Had the most wonderful escape to the Greyfield Inn. The history and nature is splendid. The tranquility of the island and the hotel means you can truly relax. Limited phone signal and no wifi allows you to really switch off. The hotel is beautiful and has kept the building and furniture true to its history so you feel privileged to...

This has been on our bucket list for quite some time. From the ferry boat ride during which Mitty Ferguson (owner of the Inn) shared history of the island to the actual Inn and the experiences it offers, our two-night stay was excellent! Dinner soon after we arrived was marinated flank steak, done to perfection! Three other couples were at...

Ate at the Greyfield Inn for a special anniversary. We were very disappointed with the meal. When I booked my reservation I asked what the menu would be and was told the chef would decide the meal. I did not question that because it was such an exquisite place and setting. I was very disappointed in the meal, we had...

Cumberland Island was a place that I wanted to visit for some years. My husband and I decided to celebrate our anniversary there. We arrived late Saturday morning and departed Monday morning. It was a short trip. The island is beautiful, the beach spectacular, The Inn very nice. Staff was accommodating and, with a few exceptions, were very pleasant. I...

Very pleasant but overpriced. No AC throughout main house. Dining room was HOT. Otherwise a nice experience. Enjoyed the drives. Staff where very good and attended to all of our needs. The boat trip was fun.

A house that was the ultimate in high society 120 years ago, tries to duplicate yesteryear’s experience today. That is a difficult job. The rooms and common areas feature period furnishings and knick-knacks left pretty much as they were in the 1800s. Some rooms have shared baths. The setting, with moss draped live oaks, makes one of the most spectacular...

If you want a place to unplug and secluded beaches, this is the place. If you want great service and excellent meals, choose another another place. The boat ride over is very uncomfortable, particularly if the captain has a friend he wants to chat with. Then plan on a 45 minute plus ride , no breeze, in the sun. The...
