My husband and I stayed in the Deluxe Eco Cabin. We loved the cabin and the beautiful view of the mountains right outside it. I loved waking up to that view each morning. Amazing! All levels of hiking are close by (for me, having the AT easily accessible was wonderful). Plenty of good restaurants in nearby Dahlonega gave us excellent choices for dinner and lunch. I rated Barefoot Hills a 4 but it’s more of a 4.75. I wished we could have had a few more amenities in the kitchen (a toaster, cutting board, knife, and some dishwashing liquid would have been good). Javi did track down a toaster when we asked for one but having it there on arrival would have been better. Also, we would have appreciated assistance carrying our luggage, etc. to the cabin as it’s a fairly long trek on an uneven path. Overall, we absolutely love this place and definitely plan to return!!

They have the nicest staff, the place is conveniently located to downtown Dahlonega, and, well, the containers are just...neat. Everything you need, ,nothing you don't, very clean, and seriously comfortable bed. We will definitely stay here again when we need to spend the night in that area.

Hostel said that it was close to shopping, but neglected to say that it was close by car. We got a ride from the trail with another hiker who agreed to drive us three miles to the grocery store. That's too far to walk when you're trail weary.

We stayed in one of the sunrise shipping containers. It was a very cute setup. Very good location to wineries and restaurants. They have a firepit with picnic tables that you can set out and chat with the other guests. I loved that. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable. We had trouble sleeping because it was so hard. We decided to do early check in and must have misread how that works. I thought once you selected a time someone would contact you to tell you If you can come early or not. You are supposed to contact them after requesting it to see if you can check in early. We checked in late assuming we couldn’t get in early when we got in town so we went exploring the area. When we checked in the guy at the front desk said he felt bad we didn’t get there when we wanted and we could probably ask for a refund. He left a message for the manager and the response was not what I expected. We weren’t that concerned with a refund since it wasn’t a ton of money but the wording of the email from the manager rubbed me the wrong way. We would probably stay again and maybe try another cabin to see if the mattress is any better because we did like the location and setup.
