We came for the Blessing of the Fleet weekend in our friendly coastal town of Darien . This was our 2nd stay at Zach and Carrie May's wonderful B&B. They consider every comfort for the guests and you feel as though it's your house and garden while there. Zach's breakfast represents his culinary talent & skill level and beautiful presentation...

We stayed four very comfortable nights in the Garden Room at Open Gates B&B in historic Darien, GA. Innkeeper Zach warmly welcomed my wife and I immediately when we arrived and proceeded to show us around the beautiful nineteenth century home and grounds. He answered any and all questions we had and recommended restaurants, shops, and places to visit and...

We only stayed for two nights but felt quite at home from the outset. Zach does a great job of making you feel welcome and our room was beautifully decorated. He generously managed to accommodate our extra traveller at very short notice and we thank him for this. As other reviewers have mentioned, the breakfast is a highlight and as...

Wonderful! Zach is doing a great job and the home and setting could not be more perfect. The town centre is delightful and our evening walk to dinner was fun. We couldn't find the Geocache though. Having coffee on the veranda this morning was my idea of bird song heaven.

Thank you so much for your excellent review! As a former B&B owner yourself, we appreciate that you feel we are doing a great job. We were also happy to serve you "real" food after your trip to Florida. You have a lovely family, and we truly hope that if you are back around this way, you will come and...

Discovered this charming town and B&B while looking for a place between St. MARY'S and Savannah. Beds were comfy and accommodations were clean in this historic home. Wish we had more time as there is a pool as well as patio with fire pit. Breakfast was made to order and fabulous as Zach is a trained chef. Highly recommend and...

Lovely quiet space with very comfortable bed; great ambience. Our hosts were warm and gracious. The real standout: breakfast. It opened with elegantly presented little individual fruit plates and handmade strawberry muffins. We were then served an incredibly delicious original recipe, which I won't share, as it is in contention for an award...but it was easy to see why Open...

Dear Nancy, Thank you so much for your excellent review!! Knowing that our guests are repeatedly having an amazing, "experience", truly inspires us continually look for ways to take care of our guests! We have yet to hear if we made it to the final 16 for our "Sweet Georgia Peach, Blueberry, and moonshine flambe", served over southern Johnny Cakes!!...

What a treat to stay in such a grand, historic home on such a lovely square within walking distance of downtown. In the afternoon I strolled over to the local coffee shop and in the morning I walked around the squares under the Spanish moss hanging from the stately oaks only to return to a magnificent breakfast of fresh fruit...

My husband and I stayed at the Open Gates Bed and Breakfast February 10-13, 2016 and what a lovely experience it was. The bed and breakfast is beautiful and squeaky clean with modern conveniences housed alongside antiques in a 19 century home. We stayed in the Island room which had the most comfortable four poster king bed I've ever slept...

While we only stayed one night at the Open Gate, we found Darien and the Open Gate to be wonderful. The quaint Southern town is great to wander around and to visit sites of tremendous historical significance to the pre and post Civil War South. The people around the waterfront, the wine bar and Skippers Restaurant showed their Southern hospitality...
