This place stinks! The smell of the room was so bad I couldn't take it. Not to mention the dirty underwear left on the floor! It looks nasty, feels nasty and smells nasty! THANKFULLY CHOICE HOTELS was able to move me somewhere else. I requested a refund and got out as fast as

I’m not sure why all the bad reviews. For the price it’s pretty decent. It was clean and the staff was friendly. It is a little hard to find and there’s numerous abandoned stores in the area. If I am ever in the area again I will look this place up.

3 or 4 years ago this property had a complete refurb and I rated it Excellent (for a motel under $100/night). Unfortunately the "new" has worn off that refurb. We were there last week. Carpet, paint, some appliances are fading and looking dirty. Our room had no toilet tissue

Had to change rooms. Door to room was propped open when we got there, killed couple roaches, + crumbled cookies beside bed. Guy at front desk was very nice and next room was okay, but definitley much better than previous. Average breakfast.

Not really a top notch, you can tell that they 'tried' to remodel, but the quality is poor (I'm a builder). But if you are just passing through, its a decent place to stay on a budget for one night. The staff was really nice!

My first stay at the Darien Inn was a pleasant one-night visit; however, that was not the case most recently. Unfortunately, I cannot post another review of the hotel for three months, but those considering staying there should know that I stayed from 1/23-1/26/2014 while visiting my 9 year-old daughter. She stayed overnight with me and woke up the first morning with what looked like a rash, hives or bites to her hand and a few other places. I thought she might have gotten the bites from gnats while playing outside. I looked at the bed sheets, saw a few spots that looked like old stains as well as two faint red lines of about 1-2 inches in length. The next morning she had even more red, swelling areas over her body. Her mom came to the hotel and said it was likely stress due to our pending divorce hearing. The areas on her body became so itchy and painful that my wife took her to a nurse practitioner who said it looked like bug bites. Upon another inspection of the sheets, we found two bugs. They didn't look like the ones on the Internet when searching bed bugs; however, they may have been full of my daughter's blood. We notified the management, and the owner/manager saw the bugs and picked them off of the sheets, then said he would call an exterminator. I was moved me from room 110 to 115. I didn't file any sort of grievance due to the hotel being nice to my daughter and her mom during a lengthy stay last year. When checking out, there was no reduction in my bill. It is 1/29/14 and my daughter is being taken back to the nurse practitioner because the itching and pain is not subsiding.
Dear Mr, Hornoff, Thank you for review, and we apologize for the inconvenience, However after we called exterminator they didn't find presence or signs of kind of bugs in the room. also room has been inspected by the McIntosh County health and environmental department and inspector dint see any signs of bugs in the room either. As we value our guests the management has given you refund for last night stay as as good gesture. Hotel Management Darien Inn
