We found this little gem on Travelzoo and what a great mini vacation did we have. The location is great for hiking down the Amicalola Falls. The hotel was clean, the beds were comfortable and the service was great. The only thing the rooms were lacking was a mini fridges as the dining options at the hotel were very limited...

We were visiting the Falls and decided to eat at the Lodge and were very pleased with the quality and quantity of food we each had. The surrounding were beautiful with all the Christmas decorations and an impressive Christmas tree in front of the fireplace, very magical to the children.

We seniors who have been married 52 years enjoy going to local places and acting like tourists. This was a fantastic place for a nice staycation! We got a deal for half price on the executive suite and had a really good time. We were pleasantly greeted by friendly staff and had to wait a few minutes because we arrived...

For New Years Eve decided to return to lodge and a celebration party. Room, staff, and celebration were outstanding. Celebration included appetizers, cash bar, dinner, dancing and champagne at midnight. Then a short walk to bed. View from room windows wonderful. Offered at a discount, when we checked out the total cost was 20% higher than expected with no explanation....

This is our third stay at the park. Our first two stays were in cabins and this time in the lodge. The lodge is beautiful with a magnificent view and nice standard rooms. A good value for the price. Even though it was a little cold and windy in December, we spent most of our stay walking the various trails...

It's a nice hotel. The lobby and deck is very busy as people and families come for the view and to sit on the deck area. So if it's quiet and relaxing your going for it's probably not for you! After we checked it we thought it would be nice to grab a drink and sit on the deck too....

Thank you so much for taking few moments to share your review of our park and lodge! We appreciate the kind words you shared about our lodge room set up and cleanliness and our amazing views. Both of our large deck areas are certainly very popular with those views and can get crowded at times. I hate to hear of...

We arrived with guaranteed reservations for three days....were checked in to a most gorgeously decorated room with many luxurious details..... They included a walk in 2 person shower, and a table with Wolfgang Puck's gourmet coffee and tea packs with plenty of sugar and creamer to go with the coffeemaker... The king bed's mattress was extremely comfortable, the sheets were...

The buffet was over priced and the food was mediocre. Waste of money . We came at a bad time of year to do anything outside. Too cold and wet to walk around Dahlonega or do the zip line. Fall or Spring is prob the best time to visit, just find alternative places to eat .

My stay began with a reservation snafu, no record of it although I had an email confirmation. After some work on the part of the staff, they were able to get me into a room in the lodge the first night but I had to move to a cabin the second night. The cabin was actually very nice, but I'd...

We had a family reunion and everyone stayed in the cabins and my husband and I stayed 2 nights in the Lodge. Except for some Ac/heating issue in Cabin 9, the cabins are great! Official Description (provided by the hotel)
High in the North Georgia Mountains is Amicalola Falls State Park home of Amicalola Falls Lodge. Named after the Cherokee word for “tumbling waters” Amicalola Falls is one of the most popular state parks in Georgia. The park’s namesake is the 729-foot falls: the highest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River. The park is also the start of the 8-mile approach trail to Springer Mountain, the southern end of the 2,150-mile Appalachian Trail. The Lodge was built in 1990 by the State of Georgia, with 56 guestrooms in the main lodge and 14 cabins along with a gift shop, meeting space and a mountain view restaurant. The lodge rooms vary from standard hotel rooms with 2 double beds, loft suites that can sleep 6, to king bed suites with private balconies. The Lodge also is home to The Maple Restaurant that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. The Lodge rests on 829 acres with on-site activities that include stream or pond fishing, as well as more than twelve miles of hiking trails, several centering on viewing the spectacular 729-foot waterfall. Amicalola Falls Lodge features more than 4,000 square feet of meeting space that can host groups and social events consisting of up to 150 people in traditional meeting spaces as well as a unique outdoor veranda setting. The Lodge’s spectacular view, peaceful setting, and exceptional service make it a destination not to be missed while in the North Georgia Mountains. ... more   less
