We stayed at this lodge for a family wedding and the views were beautiful, the patios were comfortable, clean and the grounds are well maintained. Great location for hiking and seeing waterfalls. Unfortunately the food quality and food options are awful. Overpriced and very poor quality. Refrigerators in rooms would have helped or having additional food options. In addition our...

Stayed here with four children recently. It is a beautiful lodge, hiking was great and rooms were clean. Unfortunately there is no mini fridge in the room, and the restaurant is the only food available within a twenty minute drive. The restaurant was closed twice during what was their stated hours during our stay; and with no way to store...

The cabins at the top of the falls have a beautiful view down the mountain. You can hike to the falls from here. The path and stairs down to the base of the falls is fairly steep, but there are landings and benches along the way. Several very good places to dine in Dawsonville and Dahlonega (the restaurant at the...

Scenic lodge. The lodge rooms are comfortable. There is a nice outdoor seating area where guests can watch the sun set over the mountains. This visit we booked a ground floor room so we could sit out on our own patio, however the weather has been too cold & rainy to do so. There are two large gas fireplaces with...

Our room had 2 queen beds and a large window looking out over the mountains. We had no complaints with the room and the staff was courteous. We did have to ask for maid service. As mentioned in many reviews, the restaurant is buffet only, and is overpriced. Wifi signal was fine. For older adults, safety rails/bars would have been...

We took the kids up for a couple days just to get away. The views from the rooms are spectacular, and the falls are beautiful. The food was ok, buffet style for breakfast AND dinner. I was told you could order off the menu too, but they were "at full capacity" so the only option was buffet. We ate it...

Two couples stayed at this lodge for 1 night. It is a pretty lodge with a beautiful view of the mountains. The staff is friendly and willing to help if you need something. The rooms have been updated and are very nice and clean. The reason I only rated this hotel a 3 is because of a few things I...

The Amicalola Falls Lodge feels more like a luxury hotel than a lodge in a state park. The rooms are comfortable and up-to-date, if a little on the small side. I'm pretty sure all rooms have a mountain view, so don't worry about that. The acoustics aren't all that great; we could hear the conversation from our next door neighbors...

We rented a cabin this past weekend for my husband, my son and myself. The size was great for three people and those working at the lodge and visitors center were very friendly. Cabin however was lacking for the price they wanted. If I paid $100 a night I would have expected what I got and been fine. The bedroom...

We spent our anniversary at Amicalola Falls Lodge and were very surprised at the "luxury" that awaited us ... the room was very spacious, well-equipped, and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and modern. The picture window valley view is spectacular. The lodge staff was most friendly and expeditious. John, with whom I made our reservation over the telephone, was very...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
High in the North Georgia Mountains is Amicalola Falls State Park home of Amicalola Falls Lodge. Named after the Cherokee word for “tumbling waters” Amicalola Falls is one of the most popular state parks in Georgia. The park’s namesake is the 729-foot falls: the highest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River. The park is also the start of the 8-mile approach trail to Springer Mountain, the southern end of the 2,150-mile Appalachian Trail. The Lodge was built in 1990 by the State of Georgia, with 56 guestrooms in the main lodge and 14 cabins along with a gift shop, meeting space and a mountain view restaurant. The lodge rooms vary from standard hotel rooms with 2 double beds, loft suites that can sleep 6, to king bed suites with private balconies. The Lodge also is home to The Maple Restaurant that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. The Lodge rests on 829 acres with on-site activities that include stream or pond fishing, as well as more than twelve miles of hiking trails, several centering on viewing the spectacular 729-foot waterfall. Amicalola Falls Lodge features more than 4,000 square feet of meeting space that can host groups and social events consisting of up to 150 people in traditional meeting spaces as well as a unique outdoor veranda setting. The Lodge’s spectacular view, peaceful setting, and exceptional service make it a destination not to be missed while in the North Georgia Mountains. ... more   less
