Pleasantly surprised, although a chain pub and restaurant (Youngs)it's still a bit of original charm. Eaten here a few times, not the cheapest but in line with this type of place. Food always good, although last steak wasn't cooked as ordered. But all good quality. Good selection of drinks, again going rate for the area. Not stayed in the hotel...

A lovely little hotel close to shops. Arrived to a friendly professional welcome. Check in was quick. Our room was large and comfortable with an enormous bed. Breakfast the next morning was delicious and quick. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We've been coming here for years. The food and drink is a bit expensive but you do actually get what you pay for. Just as importantly the main member of staff - Tina - is always very professional and helpful and is a credit to the pub. She seems to live there and whatever they pay her she deserves more!

A bit torn for a review between three and four. Couldn't fault service and the food is good although formulaic. Funnily the daily specials board has both dishes also on printed menu. So not really special at all. The sticky toffee cheesecake was tasty but so sweet it stripped enamel from teeth. At the table we were 8 but the...

Had another nice evening here, we probably eat here every couple of months and food and atmosphere good. The warm scotch eggs (with black pudding) are a great starter and the fish and chips is really well cooked. The pie of the day is always good as well. Nice relaxed place, good food, and friendly team. Well priced too. 4...

The hotel has a lovey room, very spacious (room 212) and clean and tidy. Bed was amazing!!! Food in the restaurant is probably the best food I have had in a pub in god knows how long. The burger was delicious and the staff were very attentive and happy Would definitely recommend to friends and family for the room, staff...

Hi, Wife and i visited here today for a quick pub lunch. We both ordered the steak and caramelised onions ciabatta and a portion of chips. First portion came along and the ciabatta was toasted in the inside but the rest of thing was practically cold. Steak was cold, there were no caramelised onions. There were 3 small slithers of...

We visited here on a busy Friday night. Nice atmosphere. The restaurant area was comfortable. Staff were attentive & polite. A small issue was dealt with and corrected swiftly. All in all a lovely meal. The leak & potato rosti was good, côte de boeuf was nicely presented. We would eat here again.
