The staff is very nice and helpful, however, unfortunately a storm and/or pine beetles have devastated much of the forestation. I found the restrooms and bath house to be spotless and we did enjoy our stay. Senior discount was extremely helpful for us, though.

My husband, myself and our 7 children stayed at Fort McAllister as a stopover on our drive north. I made reservations online, and was required to make a two night minimum reservation, although we were only going to stay one night. That is how it...More

Anyone been camping in last week or so? Wondering if sand gnats are still a problem? Or mosquitos?

Gnats and mosquitos are always a problem in the summer in the South. We use the backyard bug spray and it keeps them out of your camp site.
