We chose this place based on its location close to Papi's Cuban restaurant. We wanted to stop somewhere between Macon and Atlanta so I checked the i-dine program for restaurants, found a great one, and then chose the closest IHG property. I used points since I had a one-time promotion from Chase IHG Mastercard that I wanted to save for our 2 nights at HIE Gainesville the next 2 nights since the price would be much higher and thus a better 5% return!
Check-in was slow even though I was next in line due to lady who had booked through Expedia and IHG? She wasn't listening and was very rude to front desk lady who almost cried and went to back office twice to get owner. The front desk lady was not the problem; it was the rude lady in the expensive BMW SUV whose credit card had been denied! My check-in was quick and seamless. I don't know how many suites this hotel has, but none was available on a Thursday night with a fairly empty hotel??? An insert in my key card folder for Diamond Elite listed "exclusive member benefits". There were no room upgrades, we didn't need early check-in or later check-out, etc. The only benefit we received was welcome points-500 worth about $3 (IHG points tend to be worth about .6 cents each per my calculations over the years).
The room was a standard HIE king bedroom. There was no ice machine on our floor so I had to go to 4th floor. The weirdest thing was that the TV doesn’t have most channels, only NBC with national news. Having once lived in Atlanta, we like local ABC WSB channel 2, especially, but NOT available. Instead, for example, Channel 3 on the TV was labeled Bounce-WSB but some weird Bounce channel and no WSB? Note: WSB on TV at breakfast in seating area but still not available in room??? There were about 100 cable channels but limited network and local coverage!
Breakfast was average for Holiday Inn Express level. It was better than what was offered at HIE Gainesville the next nights for us. There was a pancake machine w sugar-free syrup available plus turkey sausage, pork bacon, potatoes, cheese omelets, potatoes, and biscuits and sausage (most likely pork) gravy. I cheated on my diet and had some gravy but skipped bacon and potatoes. All food good! Juice machine w/ one (unlabeled) slot for water. Coffee good. Ladies on duty were available for help with stuck pancake machine and water/juice machine not yet turned on, but all remedied in minute or less. Great service!
The car parked in one of 4 Diamond Elite spots and was undamaged unlike incident a few weeks prior that I saw posted. I was worried and glad I could see car from my Regular King room #509!
In conclusion, issue with local TV stations, noise, both external engine noise blocks away and internal due to too thin walls with people talking nearby until midnight and later, no suites available for Diamond members, etc., I am giving a 4 and probably won't stay here again. (I am giving HIE Gainesville a 3 in case of curiosity!) Although we chose this over Holiday Inn a few miles away because of highly rated restaurant Papi's within a mile, we would probably stay at Holiday Inn next time and possibly drive 5 miles back to wonderful restaurant that deserves its high rating!

Hotel's Favourite
We stopped here for one night while traveling. The hotel is only a few months old and was super clean. The lady working the desk when we checked in was very nice and professional. The room was modern and comfortable. The breakfast was fresh and hot. There was plenty of parking. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to family and friends.

The customer service by the front desk and manager was terrible. They consistently mad me aware that I booked through a third party vendor and denied every request initially because of that. The GM was rude and unprofessional and many held conversations while on their cell phones. The hotel is new and was in excellent condition but the customer service was terrible. The housekeeping staff spoke little to no English but you could tell and feel they wanted to help. The front desk and management team could learn a lot from them.

Upon arriving at this hotel I was impressed with the customer service by the front desk agent I believe her name was Paige( awesome service). However later is where the service went extremely badddd. My 15 year old son went to the front desk to ask for a"set of sheets"....I didn't know this was a problem.
They sent my son back upstairs and told him someone will bring it to room..fine no problem.
Problem started after my son entered the room I received a phone call from a manager with the most condescending , disrespectful and unprofessional tone as if she is speaking to a child and not a guest. She had the nerve to ask me the parent " what is going on up there. If the kids is sleeping on the floor this is unlawful.
There are two beds so why we need a extra sheet. I had to explained we are a family of 4 and there are 2 kids one of kid need a sheet for themselves
Should I have divulge of my kids disabilty and reason just for an extra sheet. Why do I owe her an explanation of my family sleeping arrangement in our room.
She contined to ask why we need the sheets if set of sheets is what we want or just single sheet as if how dare we ask or an extra sheet.
I was offended by the approach of this manager and held my composer after dealing with her in a respectful manner which was what she should given to me.
My husband overheard the conversation and was very upset 😡 that he called the front desk the let them know how rude the manager was.
Couple seconds after that the same manager brought "a sheet"up to our room.
I took personally to confront her and let her know I was offended by her approach. It only got worse.
She denied ever speaking to me like how she did. Plus have the nerve to say I may be sneaking people in my room and passing the maximum limit for the room. I asked her if she had checked my reservation on the system and as clear as she can see in my room I have correct limit or amount that should be in this room (506). The interrogation is beyond me.Still inappropriate why address someone apparently she does not know this SMH. Embarrassing.
She went further to say I was upset "of course I am duhhhh" and I don't know what she had said. The nerve of this lady.
I had tell her I have over 15 years of hotel management so for a fact your approach is wrong.
I had to tell her that denial of your action shows how unprofessional she is.
My husband was appalled by her behavior he told her to have a good night and closed the door.
She did not know to eliminate or minimize and most of all correct an issue. This manager needs a whole lot training. I realize a lot of reviews are about this manager. This is my first night here but certainly it is my last.
Beautiful hotel and wonderful front desk agents but that manager is a disappointment and is VERY rude.

Our experience was excellent. The room was spacious, clean, and modern. The A/C was strong, and the room was quiet. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was also excellent with cooked food and bagels etc. We will be happy to come again. The price was very reasonable. The motel is very close to the highway and shops/restaurants, but in a quiet area.
