My daughter and I stayed here on Thanksgiving weekend in a yurt on the lake! The leaves were changing and were absolutely stunning. We had a beautiful view of the mountain and the serenity of the lake. The yurt was beautiful and nicely furnished. The heat was welcome as the temperatures at night got quite chilly. The park is beautiful... More

This is definitely a family-oriented place. We stayed near the beginning of Trail M. This turned out not to be the best place to be because at the end of the trail there were three families with kids who loved to ride their manual scooters town the elevated start of the road as fast and often as they good until... Really nice campground, old growth forest. Great views from select sites. Quiet. Wi-fi terrible, but came to enjoy grest outdoors, so that was fine. We were in M loop, the back of which over looked the lake and mountain. Back in site they put us in was extremely tight for our 43' rv, but it was doable with a good... More

This was our second time staying at Stone Mountain Park. My husband and I stayed on Loop M during both of our visits. Last year October was our first visit. We only stayed for 2 days which was definitely not enough time. We booked when we returned home to Florida and chose to return this past Nov. 9-13, 2016. Stayed... More

The park is beautiful and the staff are wonderful: helpful, courteous and personable. Fortunately we were surrounded by quite neighbors and we found it very peaceful. The roads are full of potholes and some of the sites were uneven or had drop offs. There is a $15 charge for anyone coming in the park and another charge to camp. The... More

The park is beautiful and well maintained. There was a new gas grill installed at our site upon our arrival. I noticed several other sites with new gas grills as well. The staff are vigilant and very helpful. Our site was near the Pavilion. The deck was a wonderful feature and we enjoyed the weekend very much. This is our... More

The pricing for a night at a campground is more than most GA state campgrounds (sometimes 2X as much), and the sites themselves are not maintained and sometimes even hazardous. The pool on the campground is great, as is the nice kids' playground & sand VB court, but it doesn't make up for being 20 feet from your (loud) neighbors,... More

This is one of our favorite vacation places. We visit Stone Mountain while visiting college friends who live in the Atlanta area. We splurge at this campground and reserve a site with a deck and gas grill. We take advantage of the amenities such as the pool, lake for kayaking, fishing, laundry, and hot showers. We also love to ride... More

Made reservation in January for a show in October 2016 was told my sight was not my sight after all. Sign in desk advises they have nothing to do with reservations! They said they were sorry but my site 385 wasn't available, my second choice 392 wasn't available and sight 393 my third choice was also not available. Why ask... More

We've camped at these campgrounds for years...both tent and RV sites....and they never were that great, but they are going downhill. If you don't know the sites beforehand, you can really end up with a terrible site...drainage goes smack dab through many, many sites when it rains. I've seen some nightmare tent situations during storms. I've also had a real... More
