We decided to visit Tybee with just a few weeks notice and chose this motel because of its location. It's in the mid beach area and only about a block's walk to the beach. This was nice because we didn't have to pay to park. We had a family suite which I think is normally $115 a night, but we...

This was by far one of the cleanest rooms I have ever been in. The staff was friendly and super nice. Me and my family stayed in the family suite and it was pently big enough for me, my mother, and my 4 kids. We loved our time at the Royal Palm Motel and would stay here again when in...

Cleanest motel/hotel I've ever stayed in. Couldn't find dust anywhere. On top of mirrors, headboards, TV etc. Bathroom was spotless too. Directly across the street from the beach. Staff was soooo nice, and professional. Close to lots of food and within walking distance to the only grocery store on the island. I will stay here EVERY time I come to...

Stayed three nights. The room was nearly spotless and so was the pool. Nice more modern tub surround. Daily maid service. Friendly staff. Parking at the door of the room. Old TV but it worked fine. We had no problems with this place at all. You can't go wrong for the money.

This is a small, clean, inexpensive place to stay! I like that it's small, so it's not very crowded. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The pool is very clean! Within walking distance of the beach, 3 or 4 blocks. There's a great seafood restaurant down the street! (Get ready to pay for parking if you park anywhere on...

This is an old-fashioned drive up to your room door sort of place. It's old, but clean and well kept up with a very helpful, friendly, and cooperative staff. Prices are well below what you'd expect in a touristy spot like Tybee Island, and they rooms are adequate if not luxurious. I stay there every visit.

OK so no extras here... Just a basic room: TV, 2 beds, small fridge, tiny bathroom. But this has got to be hands down the cleanest place I've ever stayed in. And the price was less than they quoted over the phone. The beds were comfortable, plenty of space in the room. It is an older building and it shows....

This place is right out of the 70s or 80s. It's a cinder block building with a pool in the middle. The pool is clean, the service is good & they keep the wild college kids out. First off in case it wasn't clear this place is cheap for Tybee. The carpet doesn't seam to have any padding, I don't...

I'm from and live in Atlanta and grew up coming to Tybee and have stayed just about everywhere on the island. If you are looking for bang for our buck come here. I stayed here as a child a few times. Went to Georgia Southern and this was a favorite place to crash. (We did out wild partying at the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Royal Palm Motel is a small family owned and operated motel that is located one block from the ocean on Tybee Island. It is an old, but well maintained property. We like for our guests to be informed that the rooms are "nothing fancy", but are clean and comfortable. All of our rooms include a fridge, microwave, mini coffee pot, bathroom, TV with cable, and air conditioning. We have a 20'X40' swimming pool. We strive to maintain a family style atmosphere, so we do not allow parties, loud music, or overcrowding of rooms. Parking is free, but limited to one vehicle per room.We have a 48 hour cancellation policy. We have a 2 night minimum for reservations any time and a 3 night minimum during holiday periods.Sorry, but pets are not allowed in the rooms or on the beach on Tybee Island. ... more   less
