Superb location, excellent food and very warm welcome. Wonderful view from the restaurant. Native guide was knowledgable helping us to see a variety of plant and animal life. Chilly nights were comforted with hot water bottle, lovely touch!

We spent three wonderful nights at Cabanas San Isidro in February 2017 with our 18 year old son. We made arrangements through the hotel for a guide to pick us up in Quito. Our guide Andres met us in Quito and he spent the next three days showing us the many birds that the Andes has to offer. We were...

Spacious rooms, Very clean and tidy. Food is amazing and delicious, people are friendly and nice. Amazing view from the restaurant. We expected lot of birding. But did not get much there. Saw few humming birds and Antpitta.

This lodge has individual cabins dotted around the property, some are away from the restaurant, some much nearer, remember your torch! The rooms are a good size with a filter coffee machine! Plenty of hanging space & a good laundry service at a reasonable price. Could benefit from some hooks to hang wet jackets on. Wifi in the restaurant area....

San Isidro provides everything you could wish for and more in a equatorial cloud forest setting. The cabins, generously separated from each other, are comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean. The food is wonderful, the best food we had in Ecuador (and Ecuador has excellent food in general, in case you were wondering). A worthwhile splurge is to sign up ahead...

We stayed at this truly exceptional unique lodging in the beginning of November. I cannot think of a negative. The cabana we had was actually larger than the picture suggested and the view from inside and out was, not only from our cabana but every building, exceptional. It was incredibility relaxing, no internet, no TV in your room. And you...

I stayed at San Isidro recently with a birding group in Ecuador. If you want a unique experience in a beautiful forest, this property is highly recommended. Rooms are clean and comfortable with a covered outside porch in case of rain. There are many species of beautiful birds on the property, including hummingbirds and a resident antpitta that comes in...

We spent three nights here and were the only guests the whole time. Dinner and breakfast at the wonderfully set dining room were excellent, with a nice local touch. The cabanas are very spacious and clean, and being really in the middle of nowhere without any connection to cellphone network or internet, there is not much more you can do...

Thanks for your nice comments, keeping all the trails open at all times is a difficult task, however we have been working hard and restored all of them, except for a very long one that nobody uses. The Cocks of the Rock were initially disturbed by a tree fall, but fortunately they are back in the general area.

the cabanas in the cloud forest are a birders dream. hundreds of birds surround the cabanas and can also be watched from several trails. every day at 7h29 the 'Antpitta' is fed 30m next to the mainhouse. a little patience and you'll be surprised. Alejandro, the onsite manager and passionate birder took excellent care of us. we stayed for 2...

Wonderful that you liked our Tasting Menu! We put a lot of care and time in researching Amazonian products and coming up with original recipes that enhance the exotic flavors. We are very proud of our staff who has learned to and enjoy preparing this fun menu. Many thanks for supporting us!

It was a rainy day when we arrived but we still enjoyed a good afternoon of birding from the balcony on our cute, comfortable cabana. We had just gone down to the main lodge for the dinner which is served at 7pm when that big earthquake struck. The manager, Alejandro was with us and did all he could to reassure...
