The Coeur d'Alene Golf & Spa Resort is often celebrated for its prime location with stunning lake views and convenient access to downtown, as well as its inviting atmosphere with well-appointed and comfortable rooms. However, opinions on the rooms are divided; some guests find them spacious and clean, while others report outdated conditions and subpar housekeeping. The resort's luxurious amenities, including a spa and golf course, are popular among guests, but there are mentions of the need for updates. Service experiences vary, with accolades for the staff's friendliness being tempered by occasional slow service. Despite the praised amenities and location, some travelers question the value, citing high costs and additional fees.

Had a wonderful stay here. The rooms were nice and clean. It was obvious that the resort was making a good effort to making sure the hotel was clean and sanitized for guests and employees. Service was great in the restaurants and food and drink were wonderful. Close to the downtown area making walking to places off the resort easy and convenient. Lake access and rentals for all your needs and both land and water shuttle service to the golf course and infinity pool area. The only thing that I found unacceptable was their Cedars restaurant. Had a reservation for a large group with several days notice and they couldn't find a way to sit us in the same area. There plan had been to scatter us in groups of 4. It is not hard to plan where to seat guests when you know a large group is coming and the restaurant itself is requiring reservations for everyone. I say stay away from Cedars and you should be fine if your traveling in a large group at least. Which was sad considering at least $60-$70 a head we were an easy $1000 plus tab because it was one of those dinners you were there to be with family and price wasn't at the front of our thoughts.

Overall my wife and I had a great time here last weekend. We got a lake-view room with a fireplace in the tower, which met our expectations. Shower was hot and had really good water pressure. The room was pretty clean but there were some watermarks on the coffee table, so not spotless. The bed was a little too soft for our preferences, but not terrible. The views of the lake are amazing and worth the increased price if you plan on spending a lot of time in your room.

The worst part about our stay were the COVID precautions. Immediately after checking in we noticed about 50% of the guests were not wearing masks around the property and in the elevators. We dined at Beverly's restaurant, and while the food and service were fantastic the tables were closer than 6 feet to each other and the seats in the bar were still right next to each other as if the country wasn't in the middle of a deadly pandemic. There were no plastic dividers between seats in the bar or anywhere at the property. I am hoping we did not get COVID during our stay.

Hello Eric, Thank you for your review and for reaching out to us with your concerns. As a Resort, we are working closely with the Panhandle Health District to ensure that all safety measures are in place to give our Guests a safe, fun, and memorable experience on the edge of beautiful Lake Coeur d'Alene. This includes a non-invasive, infrared thermal camera at our entrance that is monitored by a Team Member that efficiently tests all Guests and Team Members temperatures as they walk by without having to stop them. We also require all Team Members to wear masks during their shifts and encourage all non-mask-wearing Guests to protect themselves and others by issuing them masks as well upon check-in. We appreciate your feedback and will pass your comments along to our management team for further review and future consideration. Best, Courtney

Sadly our road trip brought us here during the fires and smoke of 2020. We never did see the lake which was heartbreaking for us since we have lived in the WA/ID area for 43 years and have never been able to get here before. The staff was truly awesome. Our room was clean and roomy. We struggled to open/close the bathroom door. We honestly have no idea how anyone can do it😊. It’s HEAVY! Also, at 2 in the morning we could hear the toilet paper being rolled in the room next door. It also took 2 college educated people to figure out how to regulate the shower temp 😆 A makeup mirror would be more than welcomed. Rarely have I been in a high end resort hotel that doesn’t offer them. Also, think about investing in good ironing boards. The board was so cheap that when I ironed a shirt, the metal design of the board imprinted itself in my shirt! We went over to the golf course grill for lunch, which was delicious but the most fun was taking the boat shuttle over there. Our boat driver was entertaining! On our final morning, the coffee cafe charged us $900 (instead of $9) for 2 lattes so be sure to check your bill!! And speaking of money.... I hate parking fees especially when you are paying such a premium for a room. Bury the price somewhere else. It feels like being nickeled and Dimed. All in all though, we did love our stay!

I’m appalled at the lack of Covid protocols in place here. People without masks everywhere. No hand sanitizer anywhere. I was surprised that after filling in all of the info needed for ‘contactless’ check in you still had to check in for a key. They are still doing valet parking 🙈.

My stay a weekish ago at another hotel had actual contactless check in. They had hand sanitizer in every elevator, with signs that only one group could enter at a time. Not the case here. No sanitizer anywhere and mask-less people roaming everywhere. During my ‘contactless’ in person check in I asked about it, because that’s not what was implied when booking a room. People are encouraged to wear a mask if they can’t socially distance but it’s not enforced. It was like my trip here pre-Covid two years ago. I hyped this place up so much for my kid and they were incredibly disappointed. People everywhere, no masks, no social distancing anywhere, and people getting into the same elevator as we were so we had to get out and wait for the next one.

Not to mention how dirty the room is. Just one example of our super clean sanitized room.

I’m incredibly disappointed. I loved this place last time I was here, but will never be back again because they don’t care about the safety of their guests and employees.

The resort was a disappointment. You walk in and the option to park is $23 for valet or $19 for self. The front desk was tired and bored and not the best face of the hotel. When I asked about a later check out so I could try out the spa in the morning, I was told by the front desk manager it would cost me an additional $38. Obviously, the issue wasn’t the room availability but rather another way for this hotel to make money. There’s a sign in the room about ways to enhance your relaxing experience but each addition has a price— certain pillows, yoga mats, bed accessories. The hotel was also zoo-like in arrival. Tons of people coming and going and at the Whispers Bar. Plus, the bartenders at the Whispers Bar took awhile to take an order from a single female customer.

The saving grace of the entire experience was the lakefront room. The view of the lake was truly lovely. But I’d be hard pressed to stay here again.

We stayed two nights in a Tower King room just prior to Labor Day. This hotel, while the architecture may give you the 1980's vibe, the service and amenities are top-notch.

During our Covid stay, we found things to be very clean. Our room had a sticker sealing the door after it had been cleaned. The rooms and bathroom are very spacious. Our corner room gave us an extended view and a gorgeous look at the lake. The only complaint is our balcony was a little dirty from a previous storm.

We had spa treatments while we were there and the staff was fantastic. The spa area was very clean and they made sure they kept people socially distanced. We also used their water taxi to go over to the golf course and lakeside pool. The scenery makes it worth the ride if nothing else.

We also ate at Beverly's and found the food and service to be excellent.

The Couer D'Alene resort has prided itself on providing great services and amenities and they are doing better than ever.

I was looking for a get away location to surprise and celebrate my friends birthday. The Coeur d’Alene Resort was recommended by a good friend as the perfect location, especially with all the restrictions in WA due to COVID.

We drove six hours, however upon arrival at the resort we knew it was worth it. The resort was fairly large, however does not come across as one of those glitzy Sheryl types. The front desk staff were very welcoming and friendly. After a quick check in we went up to our room which overlooked the lake. The view from our room was amazing. After settling in we went and explored the resort property, finding several restaurants and an outdoor lounge. Throughout our 3 day stay we enjoy drinks and dinner at the various locations on property and found all of them to be nothing less than five star.

The resort property was close by Main Street and walking distance to several other eating and drinking establishments. Even though we had a car there was no need for it during our stay.

On property at the marina we were able to rent a 25 foot new 2020 Cobalt power boat and explore the lake. We also chartered a fishing boat for the day and fished for Salmon in the lake. There’s was so much stuff to do within close proximity to this property that we were not able to do everything that we wanted to during our three day stay. We will certainly be back to experience it again at a later date.

We recently stayed at the CDA Resort for 5 nights during the Ironman race. The city was packed for the event and also dealing with all time record high temperatures (100+). The rooms and hotel are extremely nice and hotel staff are wonderful. The AC in the room was a bit noisy and the windows have wood shutters and no drapes. Consequently, the room was not very dark when trying to sleep. Our eastern facing room was well lit with the 4:36am sunrise. The room rate for Weds and Thurs, was about $350 all in. The room rate for Fri, Sat and Sun was $599/nt all in, which I feel was way overpriced.

We rented a boat one day at the hotel marina and ate at several of the hotel owned restaurants (Titos, Taphouse, The Cedars) and all were great and good value too.

My family and I book a room in this hotel. Pictures on their website advertise their rooms to be nice with windows. When we arrived, we were given a very old room that smelled horrible and had no exterior window! The only windows looked to the hallway and I had to have them closed because people were passing by. The beds are old and cave in. There is no safe in the room. The bathrooms are old and gross. The toilet is slow. It was like staying at a dark dungeon. When I spoke to the front desk manager, I was told “I know it smells and it is an old room, I get this compliant all the time.” The front desk staff pretended to be sympathetic. Two staff members at separate times told me there was a possibility to switch me the second day, but when the manager was asked the change was refused.

I am having an extremely difficult time understanding why they would advertise their resort as a beautiful and clean place when it is not. The manager himself admits some of the rooms are old and smelly and gets complaints all the time about them.

We booked our room a while back: when we arrived last night we were assigned a room with no exterior window and feels like we are in the dungeon.
The room is dated and smells. When the kitchen starts preparing food in the morning we smell the exhaust. We are here for a wedding and most likely our clothes will smell like food. The bedding is old, the beds cave in and there is no safe in the room.
The staff are professional and try to be accommodating but there is no way to be able to get to a better room due to ‘over booking’ - last conversation with the front desk manager was “go find something some where else”.
Don’t believe the hotel web site photos to book your room at this resort.

They are taking extra time cleaning but if you call ahead and if it's just a couple of you they might just let you give your info so you can get a room key so you can go to the pool and hang there until your room is ready.

It is an easy drive from the Resort to Beauty Bay and thence to Mineral Ridge (about 30 minutes). This is prime viewing area; I've counted over 20 on an afternoon viewing trip. Bring your camera! Also check with Bureau of Land Management, Coeur d' Alene office, who host locations, with complementary viewing scopes and wildlife specialists.
