We stayed 13 nights at Blackwell Island and enjoyed our stay here. Two key reasons are the proximity to downtown and the marina/beach in the park and a beautiful setting with the hills across the street where the sun sets. At the same time, the only bummer is the proximity to the downtown and marina - unusually loud road noise from the highway and construction noise at the marina most days. Didn’t really concern me but could be concern for others who are noise sensitive.

The check in process was quick and the office staff were very personable. In fact all of the park staff we encountered always had a smile, hello, or a chat. The sites were gravel and had a picnic table with a little grass (dependent on the state of the sprinkler) with a nice variety of trees throughout the park. I had no issues with the utilities and the WiFi was pretty good except at peak hours (15 down 5 up mid-day). Verizon was strong (75 down and 4 up) with some tower congestion around 9 pm while T-Mobile was weak at 5 down and 4 up midday.

The main road of the park were paved with the inner roads gravel. The beach was very nice, there were walking trails, and the park is dog friendly. Different from many other places we have stayed, the longer term resident sites were kept up and in fact, were some of the best looking ones. For the kids, there is the beach, a small playground and a place to ride their bikes off road. All in all, it is a good place and would stay here again in the future. My rating would be a 4.3 but had to round down for the review platform.

Our first stay at Blackwell Island RV Park in Coeur d'Alene ID. Great place for base camp as it's a short drive (10 min.) into town. Also, easy walk to the Centennial Trail. Blackwell Island Recreational site is an easy walk across US95. This is where we rented a pontoon boat for the day. We noticed every type of RV here, but I would say a good portion of those were large fifth wheels and Class A's. Sites are both pull-through and back in. Pads consist of gravel and are somewhat level depending on your specific site. We were over three degrees off which required leveling blocks. The electrical pedestals, water spigot, and dump were all in great shape. The beach area is well maintained and includes a dock for boats and watercraft. The only thing I wish they would update is the website which is definitely old school and requires a phone call to check availability and make reservations. Lastly, we found the staff to be friendly and helpful.

The owner was quite rude about ‘telling us’ to get our dog on a leash when we were just moving from our travel trailer to the truck to do an errand. We appreciate rules but the delivery and tone of his ‘orders’ was not acceptable towards good paying customers. There is a better way to handle this…with kindness and respect towards each other - goes a long ways… gets you better reviews!!

Rockwell Island is a really nice RV park. It can be quite noisy and there are a lot of rules. Just make sure you follow them and do what they say or else. We booked two nights for $170.00 There was a mobil rv wash that was power washing an rv next to us for a couple hours. It's a nice convenience, but terribly noisy. The following morning, while we were relaxing and having coffee, the gardener, who was mowing, asked us to move all our stuff, untie our dog and move so he could mow. My husband asked if he could mow the empty sites next to us and come back, because we were leaving for the afternoon., The gardener ran directly over to the owner, Matt, and told him that my husband yelled at him and used fowl language. (This was not true) Matt came over and gave us a world of grief. He sided with his gardener and told us that we were being very unreasonable. I guess we won't be welcome back at this park anymore. Oh well.

OMG what a great place. Large super organized right on the river with nice beach and truly feels like a resort. Spacious sites not too many rules that allow you to breath and very pet friendly....... yes it has an upscale vibe, but we feel very reasonable priced for what is offered. Close to shopping including Costco 10 minutes away. What an extradentary beautiful setting....we are coming back but for longer next time.

Great location by the water and CDA but less than friendly staff (multiple visits) when compared to other Idaho parks in McCall, Salmon and Challis. Restroom/shower facilities are set up nice but they are still closed due to Covid fears. When asked about status of facilities when our reservation was made by phone, the response was "undecided at this time". Website should fully disclose this situation. Will try Ravenwood RV north of CDA next time (beautiful treed sites and really helpful staff when we visited).

1st, the rate when we booked was $49.50 per night, upon check it became $80.00 per night (same site). Then when i mentioned we sold our motorhome and now have a 5th wheel, they went into an embarrassing rant that we could not keep the site, it was premium for motorhomes only and reluctantly, and continued the ranting. No where on the map does it say that, so how would we know! The women scolded me and initially told me they would not accommodate us. I was mortified, there were other folks checking in and it was very uncomfortable. I was very appreciative that they found a site for us, yet they kept saying how lucky we were. It is a nice park with a nice beach, but it is too bad the customer service was poor.

No one is wearing masks in the office, but then this is Idaho . . .

Try and get a site right on the river if you can, but even if not you can still enjoy the waterfront. There's a lawn and a little sandy strip, and they have chairs set up so any guest can come enjoy it. They rake the sand and wipe the dew off the chairs in the morning.

They rent watercraft at the RV park, and you take it out on the river right there.

The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the lack of WiFi. They said they had it, but it wouldn't work at all for us. At least our Verizon hot spots worked for basic stuff.

This is a very nice park. We stayed in a 40’ motor home with tow vehicle in a pull through site. Plenty of room to set up, and many of the sites have a view of the river. The beach at the resort provides a relaxing view of boat traffic and a swimming area. Chairs are provided. There is a restaurant at the nearby marina that has great reviews, but we couldn’t get a reservation while there. Plan ahead. Just two miles from downtown Coeur D Alene. We would definitely stay there again

This is a large, busy rv park. The sites are fine, with a little grass and small trees. The office is busy and not terribly personal. But everything works, it’s decently clean, and it is near town. One thing to keep in mind. It is in walking distance to Town, but not safe to bike or walk, which is unfortunate. There is a short bridge in the middle with a lot of fast cars, and almost no shoulder. You will want to take Uber if you don’t have a vehicle separate from your rv.

Hey there, You can see the Friday night fireworks partially. It's close enough to town that you would probably want to make your way to the waterfront for the best views

Hi, Josey. I believe they do. We have a dual axle pickup pulling a 31 foot 5th wheel. You can look at their web page and call them.

What wifi service is in the area.. or cel service....its a must for us since I work on it.

Cell service was great. I didn't get wifi for almost 2 days, but we were on the go a lot so didn't try it continuously. I did get it, but as the others said it was hit and miss. I asked about it at the office and the lady said the storms passing through had caused problems.
