I recommend that you book thru Airbnb vs. LaCasa website. That's what we did, and our cabin was by far nicer, cleaner and less expensive than the other 3 cabins I toured, which had been booked with LaCasa. The outdoor pool was good, although we had to wait over 45 min to access d/t limited numbers allowed. Minigolf was fun, but frustrating for the kids d/t lopsided course. Bring your v-ball, as we had a great kids vs adults game on the sand court. Beach was very rocky, and unfortunately only max 2 meters wide. Bring your watershoes! We hiked from the pool to the beach - return trip approx 40 min. Steep incline at places, so better to drive, or if you have $100/day to spare, rent a golf cart. Store was limited in food, but had lots of cold beers and coolers to choose from. Good ice cream, but we did not try the restaurant as COVID precautions seemed limited. Didn't see anyone wearing masks in common indoor places. Lots of Alberta plates.
Cabins lined up like sardines in a can. No back/front yard, but lots of decks.
We parked the boat in the upper parking lot free of charge instead of paying $60/day for moorage. We used boat dock at Fintry since it was much less dangerous, than the one at LaCasa. Nice 10 min hike behind the main house, to the top, with great views. Overall, enjoyed our week stay, although I think a large reason why, was because the weather and our cabin were so beautiful. Not sure if I would have had the same reaction, if the weather was bad, or if we had another cabin.

This is our second year at La Casa and my son has declared it’s not a mandatory holiday. It’s a great spot to soak up the Okanagan sun and use as a base camp to explore the area. Some notes before you come that will make your vacation more relaxing. Pack everything you need as the closest grocery store is 30km away, Save-On-Foods does delivery but you will need to book a few days in advance. Bring water shoe as the beach is rocky, and head down to the point for some lovely spots, the lake is amazing. Get a place with a view, it’s worth it and those cabins tend to be better stocked. The pool is usually less crowded in the evening. The food at the Cantina has improved and the owners are lovely people. Stock up on fruit in West Kelowna at Paynter’s Fruit Stand. There is a good liquor store on West Side Road and a Shoppers if you need to make a quick supply trip.

Sorry but this place has to remake itself. These are cookie cutter condos stacked on top of each other on a hillside so steep you don’t need to work out any day there. Units are strata so the equipping of each unit is all over the map. Our unit barely had salt and pepper! Lovely deck. Amazing views. But even the decks over look your neighbour and they on to you. There is NO beach. It is not kid friendly despite how they advertise themselves. Finally come fully stocked with everything. It is 32 Kms to a store if you forget something. The “store” on site is nearly empty and what it offers is not enough to make a sandwich. We still had a good time but will look elsewhere for a true lake side vacation spot next year.

What was supposed to be a relaxing anniversary celebration with my husband and baby, I ended up having to clean a filthy cottage. We put our trust into La Casa to provide a clean, safe environment during a global pandemic. My first emails went unanswered, and when I finally got a response the owner of the resort confirmed our cottage had not been inspected prior to our arrival. That is completely unacceptable given the situation that is happening. I’m not sure how a $159 cleaning fee is justified when they are not actually cleaning anything nor inspecting. The threat that if you don’t clean up properly you will be charged an additional $100 is ridiculous. If you plan to pay close to, or over $1000 to spend your holiday cleaning, I would look elsewhere. I ended up filing a complaint with Interior Health as they are not following COVID protocols as set out by the government.

We were due to stay for a week commencing on Aug 22/21. When we tried to contact them about a refund as they have been on evacuation alert and then evacuated twice in the last week we could not receive a call back. All we got was a stock email response stating once again that there was no cancellations even though they could not provide the amenities and services we were expecting due to the wildfires. They are also under a boil water advisory. To us this didn't sound like a very healthy place to take seniors or children. We were left scrambling to try and find another place to go.
On Saturday, a week before we are supposed to arrive I received another email with check in instructions and gate codes, etc and that they were looking forward to our visit. Totally inappropriate in light of the fact that the resort is dangerous.

Absolutely brutal customer service. They couldn't care less about the safety of guests during the summer wildfire issues. Business as usual, no cancelations, no refunds no matter what. Its all about money. Its super unfortunant that they are at risk of wild fires every summer, but they should really put greed aside a second and be compassionate towards those that are spending a lot of money and not receiving the services they advertise. The pool is closed, the lake access is closed, there was a boil water advisory and to top it all off we got evacuated due to a wildfire in our area only 3 days in to our 14night stay. Tried to recoupe the money so we could try to go somewhere else for a family getaway. All we got was the no refund policy thrown in our face and the manager said "well we may open up again in a few days". Essentially we are out 5 thousand dollars. Been here twice before, but never again. It was not safe, it was not enjoyable, but the company keeps all your money no matter what.

We had a family reunion at La Casa Mirador on Thanksgiving weekend 2023, with more than 35 (all ages) attending. The facility was beyond any expectations with sleep accommodations for 28, along with the La Casa Cottages in very close proximity. The guest house had fully equipped kitchens (multiple ovens, fridges, dishwashers, etc.) and a huge dining area. We really lucked out weather-wise, so we were able to sit out on the beautiful third-floor terrace which offered fabulous views of Lake Okanagan with plentiful seating and sun umbrellas.

There were many amenities and activities available in and around La Casa, including a 100+ seat theatre on the lower level where the kids were able to relax and wind down watching their favourite movies.

The site manager was friendly and helpful, and guided us so we could enjoy a kayak adventure.

We chose to rent one of the La Casa Cottages and were happy to find a very clean, fully equipped home away from home with a great view and comfortable beds.

La Casa Mirador offered the most perfect venue for our large family to gather, reconnect, cook fabulous meals, enjoy each other’s company, and leave feeling fully loved and appreciated.

Greta resort. We booked thru vrbo so we could choose where we were located. we stayed at the top so we could get a great view, and yes we drove when we needed to go to places in the resort, but we knew that going forward so no big deal. two pools, 3 hot tubs, beach, minigolf, tennis courts, beach volley ball, and kids play areas all open. the only downfall was the road to kelowna, was less than 30 minutes but has a few narrow road areas. we would stay here again, and i imagine lots of the people here are repeat customers.

We booked La Casa Mirador for our wedding and have mixed feelings on the experience. The guest house is spectacular - we knew that from the moment we toured it. It is massive and very well-appointed. Everyone who stayed there was quite impressed. It was a lovely venue for a wedding and our photos are stunning. However, the process leading up to the wedding was quite stressful as La Casa staff made it very hard for us to get information. It was an atypical year with COVID and forest fires that put La Casa on evacuation order for several days the month before our wedding, so I understand that some uncertainty is to be expected, but it was very difficult for us to get ahold of staff there and even more difficult to get ahold of staff who actually knew what was going on. Our emails and calls were often unanswered and when we did get to talk to someone we often got conflicting information. It took several calls and emails just to get them to process our payment and there were constantly mix-ups with our booking. It made for a lot of undue stress in the process.

Stayed for 5 days. Cottage was extremely dusty. Plates, cutlery and cooking utensils had food deposits in them. Had to wash everything that we wanted to use to cook / eat. Clothing items from previous occupant were still under master bed. Emailed management about this, and at time of writing this review, I have still not received a response to my concerns.
Much nicer resorts in Kelowna. Don’t recommend!

No there is not; the expedia charge would cover everything. The only way you'd get charged extra would be if you smoked in a non-smoking room or damaged property. As far as getting your room cleaned goes, I was only there for a long weekend so the place was clean upon arrival and they only came back after check out. If you stayed longer, they may offer to come back midway through your stay (not sure about this one). You are required to clean up after yourselves (ie. take out the garbage/recycling, do the dishes, make your bed, etc.) They may offer extra cleaning services at an extra cost if you're interested.

Is there an extra cost to bring a pet?
Answer from BreakawayVacations
West Kelowna, Canada
771wandaf, thank you for your questions. We do have pet friendly cottages at the resort, but not all cottages are pet friendly, as twototravel mentioned it would be best to call the reservation line to make a pet friendly booking. 1-888-226-5566. The pet fee is actually $20/night.
