We cruised the Exumas for the first time. Taking the boat back to Miami, we stopped at chub cay. Initially ready to anchor offshore we called in for a dock slip. We were well accommodated for 1/2 the price as Nassau. The owner of Chub has poured a fortune into maintaining the clubhouse and grounds. With fresh towels we took a dip in the pool, with a shaded in pool bar overlooking the ocean we enjoined our reasonable priced drinks. Stepping out into the sugar sand beach and back to the pool we enjoyed the day. Sunday dinner menu is very impressive (we had dinner at Dune Ocean Club the night before). Excellent variety, flavor, portions, and price in a stunning clubhouse. (We were at Sandals Exuma, Staniel Key YC, Ocean Club) This was by far our favorite accommodations. Staff were friendly. On the golf cart and back to Miami by plane. Thank you!

5 stars from me. I have read some of the past reviews, some good, some not so good. All I can say it traditionally has been a private club. The fact the owner lets others come there and visit the jewel on the tongue of the ocean is a blessing. Yes the bar may not be full of people but the church on Sunday can be. No it is not cheap and it should create a barrier of entry for some buyers t seems not enough. If you don’t fish, dive, starfish view, see turtles, walk in the beach, view a blue hole without boat loads of tourists coming and going. This place is not for everyone and if you have a boat or you rent a villa you don’t have to go to the restaurant. If your kind to the staff they will be to you. Everyone forgets they are leaving their homes on another island to give you the luxury of these pristine experiences. I have been there many times and hope to again…….if I am lucky!

A number of my boating friends have been telling me how nice the Chub Cay resort has become recently, so we felt that we had to find out for ourselves. The last time that we had been there was by boat in 2012 (during the economic downturn) when there was no fuel or power, so we were a bit skeptical. Well, my party of 8 just spent the most amazing four days there and we could not have been more pleased. We rented a 5-bedroom house out on the point where the views of the entry channel were wonderful with the coming and going of the large boats (yachts). The clubhouse / restaurant is beautiful, and all of our meals were wonderful (lunch and dinner). The service is "Bahamian" service, so if you just slow down and relax a little you will do just fine. We flew into the airport, so we did not have a boat, but hired Ramon "Razor" who took us island hopping, and to the sandbars and turtle creek for snorkeling. All and all we had a great time and look forward to going back soon. I think I have found my happy place.

We rented a house because of the size of our group and our desire to have a kitchen and common areas like a dining room, large porches, and a bit of isolation. If you come as a couple, you may be interested in the one-bedroom cottages which are conveniently located adjacent to the pool and clubhouse / restaurant. If you rent a house far from the clubhouse, The restaurant is a restaurant and not a privet club so all charges can go back to our rental OR to a credit card. This is convenient so our guests could charge their food and drink independently without being on one master bill that would have to be split up.

This is the second time I have visited Chub Cay Resort, and things have not changed but only have gotten worse. The wear and tear of this "resort" is definitely showing. Lack of attention to details and maintenance is abundantly clear all around the resort for anyone to see. From the rundown Villas, golf carts, common area and pool furniture and landscaping all need immediate updating. The staff has not changed either, they are all still on "Bahama Time" which is expected, but with an added ingredient of "I don't care" attitude. Upon our arrival we were of course not greeted at the Marina, nor did anyone offer to help with our luggage upon checking in. The same with the fuel dock, it is all do it yourself, from fueling your boat and getting your own ice. However, they are very quick to show up at the end of the process to make sure you pay, but apart from that, they are like Casper the Friendly Ghost (without the friendly part). We were there during the 4th of July long weekend, and witnessed the fireworks that were done from the private beach. That was great and all the kids enjoyed it very much. However, the next two days we were forced to lay down on the dirty beach which was filled with all the left over spent fireworks residue. No one bother to clean the beach. The water as well was full of all the fireworks spent burnt cardboard residue. The pool also needs some extra help, I saw many of the pool tiles coming off the pool wall, as well as the underwater light fixtures detached from the wall. The pool umbrellas are still are not enough to go around and in fact the same broken umbrella that I saw from 2yrs ago is still there. There was no pool towels offered or available and every time we went and tried to get some towels the office was closed. The bartenders were at times overwhelmed with guest's orders for drinks and at times would run out of ingredients. We were all wondering if a lot of these so called "guests" were in fact actual resort guests or just people that pulled into the marina to use the amenities. Every resort guest was issued and suppose to be wearing a blue in color wrist band. However, we saw approximately 20 plus people around the pool and the beach that were not wearing any color wrist band. In fact, I saw one guest sharing their blue band with another guest. There was no one in charge to check and enforce same. We even saw people pull up to the marina and start to fish from the dock, which is prohibited. These same inconsiderate boaters were taking individual showers on the dock, playing loud music, as well cleaning out their sump into the water. Rumors are going around that the resort will soon be going "private" and half its staff will be laid off. Resort club membership will be offered at approximately $100K a year. Maybe that's what this place needs. However, considering the current condition of this place I certainly would not give a $100 a year to become a member. .

Criminal organization. Stay away! We stopped 2 boats of Canadians 4 people in the sixties arriving from Bimini to Nassau. Went to get information on services and fuel and they arrested us and putted us in their private jail. The manager came over and accused us of trespassing. Trespassers don’t go to the lobby and bar to ask how they can buy a drink at the bar and how we can get the fuel!!! After 1 hour, the Manager David Renaud if it’s is real name! Proposed we pay $400 for illegal docking. They told us that we would need to spend the night in jail if we didn’t. We obviously agreed to get out of there. They are the criminals, they arrested us to basically make up for their end of the month!

Thank you for your feedback. We take matters of trespassing and property boundaries very seriously to ensure the safety and privacy of all our guests and property owners. In this instance, there were multiple “No Trespassing” signs clearly posted, explicitly warning that unauthorized access would result in prosecution. Despite these warnings, private slips were used without permission. It’s important to note that trespassing laws are strictly enforced, not only in the Bahamas but also in countries like the United States and Canada. In Canada, for example, fines for trespassing range from $50 to $5,000, and those fined at the lower end are often receiving a lenient penalty. To avoid any misunderstandings or legal issues in the future, we kindly ask that all visitors respect private property and adhere to posted signage. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Returning from sailing in the Nassau Cup Race we stopped at the Chub Cay Resort & Marina to avoid Hurricane Nicole on our way back to Fort Lauderdale. It was an exceptional and delightful experience despite the circumstances. This resort in the Bahamas Berry Islands is a treasure. Our first encounter was the marina, it is well engineered with seawalls and cement floats, and it completely protected by the entrance and marina enclosure. It also has deep water and facilities for almost any large recreational vessel. We could not have found a more secure facility in the Bahamas as the eye of Hurricane Nicole passed just north of us.
Secondly the rooms, the cottages, and the cabanas are tasteful, functional, and immaculate! I toured all of them with the intent to return later this year with other friends for a real vacation.
We were there is early November, so the rates were excellent, it was uncrowded, and the weather was superb, excepting the hurricane which seemed more like an inconvenience.
I'm a sailor, so maybe didn't fully appreciate this, but this is a "fishing mecca" with exceptional big game (permit) fishing and also some of the world's best bone fishing!
Lastly, but perhaps most importantly, everyone and I mean everyone, staff, locals, and other guests made us feel welcome and like friends!
What a find under unusual circumstances! I could not recommend this location more highly as a getaway experience.

We regularly travel to the Bahamas, almost usually aboard our personal boat, and Chub has become our "go to" location for a perfect mix of fishing, relaxing, snorkeling, and eating/drinking. The facility continues to be improved every time we visit and the staff is friendlier and more helpful than ever. While priced a bit higher than other options in the out islands of the Bahamas, the marina and ancillary facilities are some of the best we have experienced. From greeting the marina management and fuel dock, tying up to an assigned slip, COVID precautions and protocols, we feel it is one of the safest locations around to enjoy the activities that are offered on and off island. (and of course the fishing is without question world class).

Fantastic place. Anyone who has posted less than 4 stars, disregard. This place is absolutely beautiful, safe, clean. Staff are accommodating and then some. I admit I was a bit apprehensive after reading several negative reviews, but if you can’t get along here, I’m betting you’re the type who can’t get along anywhere. It isn’t as expensive as others may lead you to believe, either: it’s comparable to Nassau/Paradise island.
Great marina: the showers etc more like a spa than standard marina amenities, floating docks a bonus! Wifi a bit spotty at the far end where we were, but all in all, this place is stellar.

Try Walkers Beach, or if you’re a runner, run down to Turtle Creek estuary, it’s not too far, about 3 1/2 km one way, down a gravel road.

Food in restaurant very good, Nauti Rooster good for pub fare.

We will be back next year with extended family! Thank you to Jason and Natalie especially….

Beware of over charges to your credit card account at the pool bar. The management team refuses to acknowledge there is a problem. Something dishonest is going Guests need to be very cautious and attentive to charges while staying at this resort.

We manage an island very close to Chub Cay and because covid has prevented us from travelling this year, my husband suprised me for my birthday with a weekend at Chub Cay. Well it turned out to be my best birthday yet! From the minute we arrived the staff made us feel looked after! Keana and Keisha gave us the best check in we have ever had and even sang happy birthday to me when we got to the room (which was beautifully decorated with balloons and rose petals!) Montura was always helpful and friendly and the three made up fantastic front desk crew!

The cabana was exquisitely clean and fresh and had everything you need. The beach was divine and the restaurant (that we basically had all to ourselves) was welcoming. The food was delicious and reasonably priced.

I had a full body massage with Crystal who is an incredible massage therapist and I swear has magic hands!

Definitely take a look in the shop, it has SO many goodies and very reasonable!

I cant say enough about Chub Cay, thank you to all the staff and management for such a wonderful break and we cannot wait to return!
