This was my first visit to the wild coast and we were so lucky to have discovered this gem! We camped for 3 nights, clean and neat ablution facility and well equipped kitchen. We snorkeled in the rock pools and spend hours on the beach. We will definitely go back for more!

If you're looking for a laid back, community place right on the Wild Coast...look no further. Such a beautiful location and such lovely people. I would highly suggest the kayak & local village tour. This place does so much for the community so you know you're doing right by staying here!

Very nice and quiet place, settled in the most beautiful surroundings on top of a hill, overlooking the sea and beach. Perfect for a little get-away from the wifi-concerned travelers and party people!

On top of that the place has a great vibe, looks awesome, cool staff and the location is amazing. Beautiful beaches with nice surf almost entirely to you self. Also some great activities (kayaking and nice...

One of my very favourite backpackers, Mdumbi is everything a rural backpackers should be. It's got it all; a stunningly beautiful beach with excellent surf, swimming and dolphin watching; a relaxed vibe, but the ability to have a good party when the time arises; excellent relationships with the local community, meaning theres no gates or security ; good communal food...

Hiking from Coffee bay to Mdumbi and staying at the backpackers is one of my favourite ways to spend a weekend. The hike is not too far or too difficult, and the route takes you along a magnificent stretch of coastline where the chance of seeing dolphins and whales is excellent. Once you've crossed the Mtata river mouth (remember to...

Very friendly backpackers 5 minute walk from a beautiful surfing beach which was so quiet. Surfboards & wetsuits available for 80R/day. Great self-catering kitchen, but we also tried the seafood BBQ which was very tasty. Staff party night was Saturday which was very welcoming if you are up for that, if you want to sleep, maybe go for Sunday night....
