This hotel is right in the heart of downtown Chicago. We asked for a river view, which was spectacular. The activity on the river and on the street allowed lots of interest right there from the room. If you haven't taken the sight seeing boat, it's well worth the time. Shopping opportunities abound, as do restaurant choices. As noted in...

My mom and I had a wonderful stay at the River Hotel. Our room (802) had an amazing view of the Chicago river and the Trump building. Devon at the front desk was super helpful in helping my mom and I decide where to go shopping. Had the best margharita (thin crust) pizza at the restaurant in hotel. We will...

Got the cheapest room, and it was small, but knew what I was paying for in advance. The location and service were excellent so I would stay again. Pedro, at the front desk was all about service and taking good care of the guests. Also liked the snacks available, nice little extra.

The room was comfortable, clean and well located. We reserved the kitchenette room, which was a fair size. Not quite a kitchenette, these was microwave and a fridge. If you can get a room at the front ask for it. The rear of the building backs on to an alley with lots of late night, early morning activity (garbage trucks,...

This is in a great location if you are wanting to walk miracle mile without the struggle of parking. Unfortuantely the rooms leave a lot to be desired. I honestly did not know they made hotel rooms so small. Parking garage.....there is none. However they will discount your parking fees a block away. Remember, you are walking a very busy...

I choose the river hotel for location and price. It was a busy convention weekend so prices were three times the norm. I was aware that the small double rooms were in fact small but for one person it was perfect. The very clean modern bathroom is separated by a pocket door four feet from the bed. There is a...

The room we stayed in was smaller than my daughter's dorm room! It felt like a small box with a queen bed stuffed in the corner. The walls were so thin we couldn't tell if housekeeping was knocking on our door or some other guests' room. The duvet had a mysterious dried white stain in the shape of a hand...

Just realize this is not a 5 star hotel. At first glance it seemed nice, but the closer I looked I could see all the negatives. Re: check in, the guy never told me anything about the hotel such as there is a guest closet on every floor where you can get an iron. He also never told me that...

We stayed at River Hotel in Chicago in October. We were quite pleased with the accommodations. When making the reservations, we had asked for a river view room. They couldn't promise but would see what they could do. Upon arrival we found we did not have that room but they graciously changed it to the side we wanted. We were...
